The flag stayed down to allow Fernando Torres to deliver on a night that saw Hazard sparkle again. Brave Reading went home with nothing but put up a fight as their budget options confirmed their potential. Let’s check the stock…

On the Up

Eden Hazard
Five assists marks a remarkable start to Hazard’s Fantasy season and already confirms him as a major Fantasy asset. He’s mesmerising skill and pace, combined with the freedom to join the attack from all areas, has thrust Hazard to the top of our midfield shopping list – once the Gameweek 3 blank has passed of course.

Frank Lampard
Lampard may well rely on spot-kicks for returns but with Hazard in the side, he looks set to get plenty of them. The Belgian’s tricky feet are drawing fouls, seemingly handing Chelsea deadballs and penalties aplenty.

Fernando Torres
Torres left it late but he eventually delivered on the captaincy with a goal that just about justified the faith shown in him. We will still look to Hazard and wonder what might have been, while Robin Van Persie still looks ridiculously tempting for those with the funds to wave goodbye to El Nino for the weekend. It’s still a big decision for those with cracks elsewhere and with bandwagons rolling.

Pavel Pogrebnyak
The Russian delivered on his budget promise with a superb glancing header to bring Reading on terms. Pogrebnyak looks destined to lead the line home and away for the Royals and, as we’ve stressed all through the pre-season, offers a superb third striker option for those looking to reserve funds.

Danny Guthrie
Talking of budget options, Reading look to have a mix of them. The widemen Jobi McAnuff and Gareth McClearly put in strong displays again but it will be Guthrie, playing up in support of the lone striker and at just 4.5 in the Fantasy Premier League game, that will rouse interest.

Going Down

Petr Cech
A calamitous error for Reading’s second goal drew visible frustration from manager Roberto Di Matteo and will give cause concern for those holding Chelsea defenders. We’ve seen his confidence waver in previous seasons. Worrying.

Juan Mata
While Hazard, Lampard and Torres delivered returns, Mata was the odd one out, offering two blanks over the double Gameweek. We know that Di Matteo is planning a rest for the playmaker, while it’s doubtful that this will start early against Newcastle, it’s not out of the question given the jaded performances so far.

Adam Le Fondre
Brian McDermot started tonight’s game in a 4-5-1, pushing Guthrie up to support Pogrebnyak. Le Fondre dropped to the bench then and will presumably be at risk when Reading are on the road.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Team is:

    DDG
    Lescott – hughes – jenkinson – gunter – zab
    lampard – ramirez – cazorla – Dyer – Noble
    tevez – torres – graham.

    Which of these?:
    A. Lampard > Hazard
    B Ramires > Bale
    C Ramires > Kag
    D Ramires > Pienaar
    E Torres > Adeb

    I think B then maybe A or E after GW 2

    What do you think?

You have to have mid term planning, chelsea have no game week3, if you have 3 players you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself. I think B or C (Personally I have Bale) def get Hazard after gw3 but I wouldnt waste a precious early league transfer on it. I think Bale for ramires and see from there, however if you have faith in Kag go for it, neither seem miles more promising than the other as of yet

Yo guys, hoping for some feedback:) Can't complain about my week, but now it is time for changes..

    Mig (Fed)
A Cola Zabaleta Williams (Mc Cartney Cuellar)
    Noble Lamp Kagawa Yaya (Guthry)
    Torres Tevez Bent

    +2 mil
Possibilities enough (too many) Where to go now? Thought be4 was get rid of Lamps n Torres> Bale/Sig n Rooney. This is actually most pressing question, Rooney or not or RVP. With Bent I have option to free up more money (though want to see him play home match) and what about bandwagon stuff like Michu:P
Not really happy with Fed though, and with Chelsea winning matches I might leave them in for next match too. Maybe better take out Cole> another def. Would love some ideas

Alreet lads. I got it completely wrong on the chelsea mids. Was sure that at least one of them would be rested last night, and didn't want to take the risk choosing which one. Well done to those of you with hazard or lampard. Even though I lost out as an fpl player, as a toon fan i'm more than happy. Now chelsea will be tired (or rotated) for the big game on saturday! Can't see more than 2-3 first teamers starting for us in europe tonight.

What is the point in having such a massive squad, if you are not going to use it to keep your best players fresh for a game against a team that beat your at your place last season AND finished above you in the league?? Especially as the game in question was home to reading!!

I can understand your frustration having carefully considered these vary facts in light of the Newcastle game coming up. For all that though I'm delighted I stuck with Lampard. I would expect Chelsea will still start their strongest team making no more than a one or two changes. And your right, they should be tired come the weekend.

Although Im new to Fantasy Football, im a huge united fan and i will be going to the game on Saturday. Kagawa will most likely be in the starting 11 based on his display at Everton and his overall ability compared with others in our team. I believe if united are going to get the title back in will be down to him linking with Rooney and RVP. He is a must imo.. but i am his numer one fan so could have my tinted specs on.

Thanks to those of you who posted a reply to my quick poll on previous page. After checking member's area stats, taking into consideration price rises and of course your votes I am now the proud owner of a Tevez. Cheers

I bought my Tevez last week. It isn't the most aesthetic model I've had over the years but it works well.

The aesthetically pleasing model (Aguero) unfortunately broke down on me forcing my hand.

Yeah the compensation cars are never as nice as the ones being fixed up but they should do the trick for the time being!

    Few questions:

Will Jenkinson be an consistent starter for Arsenal?

And how many are letting Torres go for one more week. I'm debating putting Podolski in.

Until Sagna returns. I'll keep Torres one more week, only because I had to move Aguero...

  27. Is it too much having both Mignolet and Cuellar for this week?

I can't believe I had Hazard as caption and traded to Mata. I should have gone with my gut and not been influenced by what everyone else said. Hazard as captain was only 8 less points than what I got.
