Eden Hazard is the main provider for Chelsea in a thrilling 4-2 win over Reading. Penalty duties bring Frank Lampard another respectable Fantasy score, Branislav Ivanovic notches in back-to back matches, while even Fernando Torres gets amongst the goals – sweet relief for a huge number of armband owners.

Eden Hazard
The Belgian continued in the same vein as Sunday’s game at Wigan and has wasted no time in announcing himself to Fantasy managers as a strong source of points amongst the Chelsea midfield conundrum. Having supplied assists for three Chelsea goals in last night’s narrow victory over Reading, Hazard now has five to his name already in a superb start to life at Stamford Bridge. Neck and neck for ownership with Juan Mata leading into Gameweek 1, Hazard’s more direct role for the Blues looks set to see him rocket in ownership despite a blank Gameweek 3 – the Spaniard, on the other hand, still seems lethargic from a lack of a summer break; the upcoming international break will be crucial to his chances of returning to the Fantasy force we were accustomed to last season.

Fernando Torres
Finally, he produced. It was just a single goal but the overwhelming armband favourite gave us something to smile about with a tap-in to put Chelsea 3-2 ahead. With Frank Lampard once again benefitting from spot-kick duties and Hazard dazzling as part of the attacking midfield three, Torres could struggle to keep his place in many a team – with the blank Gameweek 3 to follow, his home clash against Newcastle this weekend could be his final game for plenty of Fantasy teams as we begin to reassess our frontline options.

Branislav Ivanovic
Notching for the second successive match, the Serbian is now just one goal off equalling last term’s tally after slotting home the fourth last night. Like Hazard, his displays over the two games have earned Ivanovic a price rise prior to the game against Newcastle but with Chelsea still heavily expected to bring another right-back to the club, question marks are still against his long-term prospects. If the Blues fail to bring in someone else for his position, though, Ivanovic’s 6.6 price tag is unlikely to deter many.

Pavel Pogrebnyak
The Russian made his way into 17% of Fantasy teams ahead of the double Gameweek and, despite a change of tactics from Brian McDermott, Pogrebnyak kept his place in the side as Reading moved to 4-5-1; perhaps a sign of McDermott’s formation for away matches. His Premier League record of a goal every two games continued last night; Pogrebnyak had previously scored six in 12 for Fulham and a towering header at the Bridge suggests he could be a very handy cut-price third striker in FPL, at just 5.0.

    Given I currently have 4 DGW players (3 Chelsea , 1 Reading):
    Pienaar --> Kagawa or
    Lampard--> Kagawa
    (no united attack and I have a gut feeling on Kagawa this week so I want him)

    Lampard is more sensible in the long run as need to use my free transfer getting out a Chelsea player for GW3, but I do fancy him this week against Newcastle..

    thoughts?

    Small dilemma.

    Im taking out lampard and im considering either sessegnon or ben arfa.

    The problem is if i pick ben arfa he will be playing against ashley cole (who im starting) so only one will get the points.

    Who should I pick??

      Logically, that doesn't really make sense. Ashley's points aren't dependent on who you pick, he'll get whatever he gets. Just choose who you think will get the most points out of Sess or Ben Arfa...

    i feel really down here after looking the score of my leader(about 100++) while im at 50....does it the end of my game?can i catch up him, if so what strategy i have to use? knee jerking, waiting or something else??

      Patience. You will likely have a gameweek where you outscore him heavily as well a some point. Its quite likely that kneejerking etc will only help to cement those 50 points (which is nothing at this stage of the game - an average of 1.3 points over the remaining 37 weeks)

      Calm down mate. It sonly one GW dont change your tactics. Its a marathon not a sprinit. If you outscore him by an average of 1.5 points per GW then you will finish above him.

      I was 127 points behind around GW30 last year and i won my minileague by 20 points.

      Be patient. There's loads of time to catch up. Some of his players might get injured, your captain may score 5 goals, you just never know. I'm in the same boat.

      Plus, if you're posting on here, then I guess you've got more than a passing interest in the game. If you keep it up over a season, you will minimise those little mistakes that cost you points i.e. captaincy, substitute order etc. This will give you an advantage over most players in your league.

      I generally have a pretty slow start but easily catch up over the course of the season.

    Scout Picks predicted XI for GW 2?

    De Gea
    Ivanovic, Cuellar, Walker
    Michu, Hazard, Bale, Kagawa
    Rooney, Torres, Graham

    Obviously over budget, but so is the scout picks usually.

      Big Sam will ensure Michu is marked tightly this week. Graham is a bigger punt than Tevez but I think he will score a brace. Home record last season was very good.

    If it wasn't for no GW3 for Chelsea I would probably keep all 3 players in for a while. Their midfield and defence looks like a good supply of points and they still have Marin to play.

    As a United fan this just confirms what most fans know. Our midfield is the worst out of the top clubs. Even Spurs have a better midfield than us. You would have to pay me to add Nani, Valencia or Young which is kinda depressing.

              I think Rooney may well still be on Pens for now at least. I think Arsenal only got 2 or 3 pens last year which means RVPs huge goal tally came almost exclusively from open play which is one less worry at least.

        Already put kneejerk Michu in. 2.0 in bank.

        4 point hit for Torres -> Roon this week, or 4 point hit next week A.Cole ->5.5 and Torres ->RVP?

            Thanks for the advice. If not Rooney, the only other issue is not feeling confident captaining Torres, so is it Bale, Hazard, or Graham for the armband?

        Hello

        Was Kagawa really that impressive vs everton?
        If we get some more info about vdv's transfer, I might transfer him out for this gw already.

        So annoyed that I changed siggy to vdv last friday, I got greedy...

        who do people think the top 5 goalscorers will be this season?
        Mine:
        RVP = 25
        Tevez = 23
        Rooney =22
        Jelavic = 20
        Ba = 18

          Adebayor instead of Jelly, and there is no way Aguero will do worse than Tevez.

          Hmm tricky one but bit harsh to forget Aguero, he hasn't been gone that long!

          In fact...

          Aguero = 28
          RVP = 23
          Adebayor = 19
          Jelavic = 16
          Podolski = 15

        A or B?

        When is a hit worth it?

        From my understanding - e.g. if doing Torres-Rooney for a HIT

        Rooney Score > Torres Score + 4 = Worth it

        So if Torres scores 2, Rooney should get at least 6. If Torres scores 6, Rooney should get at least 10.

        Yes?

              And that is only to break even. If Torres scores 2 Rooney should score at least 7 for the hit to pay off.

              The other thing to consider too is if you need to take the hit to bring in a player you wish to captain, i only tend to take hits when that's my plan.
              Many will be looking to find room for rvp/rooney captain

                you should almost never consider taking a hit unless its a double game week player imo, the average weekly score is around 40, so taking a 4 point hit is 10% of your weekly score!

              I do not agree... If you take a hit of 4 points to bring in Rooney, Rooney score = Torres score + 6 is only break even... Always take a hit only when you are sure whoever you bring will outscore the other by atleast double than the hit you are taking as that would make your score better...

              Otherwise it doesnt matter who you have...

              A lot more to a points hit than that. You think the new player will improve your team greatly over the next few weeks.... for a double game week... catch a hot player's price rise... to balance the books when two transfers are required to be able to afford someone...

            I have Michu, Britton, and Graham in my starting 11 at the minute. Do you think I should drop Britton for Walters(Arsenal at home) or go with the three for the West Ham game?
