There’s two tasty fixtures on the bill today, as the Dugout Discussion opens for the second installment of Gameweek two. We start at the Britannia Stadium as Stoke City host Arsenal, and the team news is in…

Stoke XI: Begovic, Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross, Wilson, Pennant, Cameron, Whelan, Kightly, Walters, Crouch.

Arsenal XI: Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Diaby, Arteta, Podolski, Cazorla, Gervinho, Giroud.

Having been cleared to play, new signing Geoff Cameron makes his Potters debut in midfield. The visitors are without Wojciech Szczesnydue to a rib injury, so Vito Mannone is between the sticks. There’s a first league start for Olivier Giroud, with Theo Walcott the player making way.

Following that game we move to Anfield, where bottom of the league Liverpool welcome the visit of the Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is the place to follow all the action as it unfolds, and it can be accessed right here.

Simple question, do i take out n’zogbia for a 4 point hit? He just lost me 0.1mil

    My team for GW3 is:

    Friedel (Begovic)
    Cuellar Zabaleta Rafael Hughes (Clyne)
    N’Zogbia Bale Kagawa (Hazard) (Guthrie)
    Graham Tevez Cisse

2.5mil saved for Graham > Jelavic, so do I transfer out N’Zogbia? Best options for < 6.4mil? Duff? Morrison? Nolan? Jarvis? Dyer? Any others?

Have you seen Swans play? You could grab Fellaini or Pienaar for N'Zog too. Michu will be a must, but I think it's a little late for him...

I just don't fancy kagawa as a fantasy prospect.
I can see him assisting the assister mostly.

if you guys have seen torres' goal against reading (the offside one), the role kagawa will be playing is at mata's role. assiting the assiter most of the time

just for that goal, kagawa will be playing at mata's place if that was united's goal. a.cole will be evra/wingers, and torres will be rvp/roon

        not for the whole match.

I can understand people saying RVP is not worth the price tag but I don't get the logic behind people saying that spending 13.0 on RVP will make the rest of the team worse.

The aim of the game is to score the most points! If RVP is scoring you 13.0m worth of points and a 5.0 players is scoring his worth, than it would be the same as two 9.0 players.

Also, RVP is even worth "double" each week if he's given the armband.

Two 9.0 players will score a lot more than RVP will, both would be expected to get 150-200 points each, no way on earth RVP is breaking 350 points

+1 and you can grab him now on the rise, use him as a differential, and your opponents will eventually have to break their team to get him when he's far over 13.0 lol.

        Valid point.

          Also a good point.

Right now he is the player with the most potential for a giant points haul as captain. Think Rooney will be played out on the left of that front 3 as it's uniteds only weak point in the attacking line up. People are forgetting Welbeck though and I don't think Fergie will keep him on the bench

I think any Fantasy manager with even a shred of intelligence isn't going to be looking to stick on the same captain for months at a time this season.

I have a £13.5 million pound slot in my squad (currently held by RVP), and I'll flick that around between different players as and when they come into fixtures/starting 11s. I've had to fill the rest of my team with pretty solid picks, to give myself the transfers, but I hoe it will work out.

Posted something like this as a response on last page, but relevant here too :

Personally, I reckon 13m is about fair value. If he’s not scoring 9 points a week, you’d be pretty aggrieved and if he does it’s meh. And if he goes nuts – great. Just like any other part of your team.

The concentration of value in one player is helpful for captaincy choice as you point out. Also you can only have 11 on the pitch so if the in some ways its better to have a 13/5 split than a 9/9 split.

However, concentration is damaging for squad flexibility when circumstances change (fixtures, injuries) change. By the time Rooney comes back, the calculus might be different. It also leaves you more vulnerable to bad luck (game cancellations, injuries to your player). Also less likely to catch price rises among a range of strong mid-price assets.

        All great points.

I guess there's many strategies so saying one is better than the other is ludicrous.
However, IMO, as long as RVP keeps scoring, a 13.0 price tag is not a problem at all.

Seems a bit of a poor reflection of a player's actual contribution. Fellaini destroys Man U and gets 2 points. Baines is not even Everton's best defender and gets 3 points.

They need to change system if they want BPs to reflect actual games more closely.

I wouldnt mind what system is used as long as it is expalined. Its all well and good saying the baps are now stats based but on what premises? I do not see any advantage of not giving us the information as to how they decide

but if it is based on performance, it will create controverse every week.
I would say dembele should get 3bps in that match, followed by kagawa2 and rafael 1.
I don't think many will agree with me though.

hence the 'scientific' method on determining bps

Could you please tell me whether worth wild carding or not?

Because I need to make a minimum of 3 transfers to have 11 playing.

    Or -8?

    Given , Federici

    Terry, Vertonghen, Zabaleta, Gunter, Tierney

    Michu, Lampard, Bale, Larsson, Puncheon

    Torres, Tevez, Graham

    £2m in bank

    Thank you

Am thinking of either a -8 or a wildcard.

Amateur question but lets say Arsenal dont concede till the 70th. Jenkinson goes off at the 70th and then arsenal concede. He gets the CS?

you only get a clean sheet if they don't concede in the 90 mins. if they go off before the team concede they get 6 points.

Looking at taking a hit to drop Ivan & Torres for RVP + Defender

I also wanted to bring Hazard in at GW4 and I'm guessing he'll be 9.9 by then so that means I need to shave 1M off Ivan's price to leave enough to bump Yaya up to Hazard.

I already have 2 swans players and DDG so bit wary over Rangel or Rafael (as much as I want his babies).

Long story short - Best Defender for 5.5/5.6/5.7 (depending on Hazard price rise)?
