There’s two tasty fixtures on the bill today, as the Dugout Discussion opens for the second installment of Gameweek two. We start at the Britannia Stadium as Stoke City host Arsenal, and the team news is in…

Stoke XI: Begovic, Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross, Wilson, Pennant, Cameron, Whelan, Kightly, Walters, Crouch.

Arsenal XI: Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Diaby, Arteta, Podolski, Cazorla, Gervinho, Giroud.

Having been cleared to play, new signing Geoff Cameron makes his Potters debut in midfield. The visitors are without Wojciech Szczesnydue to a rib injury, so Vito Mannone is between the sticks. There’s a first league start for Olivier Giroud, with Theo Walcott the player making way.

Following that game we move to Anfield, where bottom of the league Liverpool welcome the visit of the Premier League champions Manchester City.

    What do you think. Don’t really want to play my WC already, figure an 8 point hit is not a good enough reason to do so.

      I wouldnt, Torres + Tevez are good picks and your team isnt that bad, Hazard can wait a week aswell. I say down grade A.cole or Vidic then maybe have enough for Dembele > Hazard next week?

      For the future, it was very foolish to set up your team so that you couldn't get in RVP or any of the 9.5 midfielders if they started firing. Early squads have to be about flexibility.

      Don't bother about Hazard until he actually has a game. I would downgrade Suarez to fund that, as I think he's a bit of a luxury until his fixtures turn better in gameweek 6. Downgrade him dramatically, and get in RVP for Torres, leaving enough in the bank to get hazard for gameweek 4.

    So basically i really want eden hazard in my team, but im not sure of many ways of doing so.

    I have played another fantasy game religiously and obsessively (AFL DT) but this is the first time I've played FPL.

    What I find interesting is the different terms used such as trades/transfers, uniques/differencials etc.

    However, the strangest one is the term "rival" that is used. It just sounds so childish and "un-football" like. A word like opponent seems to be more fit rather than rival which sounds as though you are describing a gang or company rather than a football team.

    (Yes, this game is definitely boring me)

    I’ve heard of both theories, the common ancestor one coming from the “Mitochondrial Eve” concept if I remember correctly. The interbreeding theory is more based on the migration of Homo Sapiens towards Europe and the further movement of Homo Neanderthalensis into Europe and India.

    As far as myth goes, their extinction is so far back that it’s a difficult one to say really. It’s a fascinating area though.

      I am, I replied back. Interesting that they may have also had language, must have been a crazy time! I definitely thin that once humans could speak, stories of the strange beasts they encountered and cataclysmic events that occurred would have been passed down. And once a story passes down a few generations, it is hard to see how they won't keep passing until they become community legends and then myths. In Greek myth, the gods fought the titans for control of the world. Another interesting example are Griffins, half lion, half bird creatures of lore. Recent discoveries of beaked dinosaur bones in the area are leading historians to think that such myths were a way of explaining otherwise unexplainable bones.
