10 mins before price change, let do your transfer lads
Open Controls -
Morning all
DDH - 2 games 5 points
Zabaleta - 2 games 2 points.
Not very good for 12 million, is it? Could some psychic person please tell me when they're going to sort it out.Open Controls-
Got those exact same 2 as well.
Pains me to say it but United defending has been abyssmal this season (and let's be honest, hasn't been great for some time) so I'm not overly confident about it been sorted anytime soon. I say that as a United fan too. Hopefully we'll sort it but it doesn't seem likely.
I'm sure City's defence will come good at some point.Open Controls -
Think that's bad? I have Kompany & DDG. 13.5 whopping million. If United & City can't keep a cleanie vs Southampton and QPR (both respectfully) then I might start looking elsewhere.
Problem is that Lescott is getting found out and Toure's legs have gone. Meanwhile, United only have Vidic but even he looks prone to errors. Hopefully Evans returning might add a bit of stability - who would've thought eh?!Open Controls-
There'll always be a place in my FPL pantheon for Evans after his discount heroics last year. And he played very well. It's depressing when you think that Baines & Vorm only costs 12.5m....
Open Controls
-
-
Hang in there....remember the reason why you got those players in the first place. It is a long term strategy....they will get their CS.....hang in there. I have the same 2.
Open Controls-
This. It's a 38 game season. Anybody doubting there are 16-18 CS for each of these 2 teams this year ?
Open Controls-
If United's injury woes continue and City don't sign a decent centre-back then yeah. The strikers in this league are quality (even for the lower teams)
Open Controls -
Yes, I know, I know. Didn't City struggle for clean sheets at one time last season as well? And I think United ended up with the fewest goals conceded, despite some defensive horrorshows. Not panicking, just moaning.
Open Controls -
+1 The reason why i have them in my squad is to not have to worry about wasting a transfer. TBH.....i am more worried about them getting dropped or rotated than about their lack of points in the first 2GW's

Price hangers
Jenkinson ; Michu, Nasri ; Tevez, RVP, Torres, PetricOpen Controls -
Is it a good idea to play your WC during International break to get on price rises?
Open Controls-
seldom make much unless theres a revolution happening. you have to make .2 to sell to make .1. Rare that more than one person rises .2
Open Controls-
I'd back a fair few to get 0.2 this week
Open Controls
-
-
yes, providing there are loads of bandwagons that week (like this week)
Open Controls -
last year it was, as the 8-2 man u arsenal game and (think it was 5-0) man city spurs games were b4 the break, prices went mental and wcarders made alot of cash, it depends on results but u can defo make a few bob. I like to wait for Feb or March to use mine, Always a few dgws to get stuck into!
Open Controls -
Pointless to use a wildcard just for price rises to gain around £.4m. Use it if your team is crap and needs several transfers. Simple as that.
Open Controls-
After years of using my wildcard early i finally think i have a decent team without it.
Would you agree?
Ddg, federici
Baines, raphael, hangeland, zaba, clyne
Bale, yaya, pienaar, kagawa, guthrie
Tevez, ade, graham
Bale to hazard next weekOpen Controls-
Nice team Mo. And congrats on the gold medals, made us all very happy.
Open Controls-
It feels great after all the hard work ive put in. Hope i havent hit the ceiling but where do i go from here? World championships in afew years so try to do the double there
Open Controls
-
-
Looks solid alright. Would love to be able to fit Baines in my team but Rvp ties up too much funds.
Open Controls-
Yes it looks good with baines in. Currently ivanovic. Would you take a 4ointer to bring him in?
Open Controls
-
-
Many weaknesses in this team
Federici - the equivalent of FPL trash, since you will be playing DDG all games, why not get Begovic instead?
Rafael - SAF is Hannibal Lector of defensive rotation - his habits are bizarre. Expect Rafael to be dropped without warning, and probably two days after SAF going on record saying "Rafael will play right back the day after tomorrow".
Clyne - consider a Hammer defender
Bale - I am not getting the vibe. How are you going to be able to transfer out Bale next week if he scores a brace versus Norwich (that is why you keep him right?)
Yaya - I'd go for Michu instead - and -
upgrade Graham to Torres (maybe downgrade a defender, you don't need 4 defenders over 5 million).Open Controls-
Oh, that will be £10 by the way. Paypal me.
Open Controls-
🙂 i see your points.
Thanks for the input. So dont bother with baines and a 4 pointer and use wildcard next week?
Struggling to justify it tbh. I have expensive defenders to counteract fergies wild decisions.
Ade can be upgraded to torress, dending on who does well out of ade n bale. It made sense getting both in specifically for totts run of fixtures to see who hits form.
Clyne will be used sparingly.
Yaya will be swapped out n afew weeks after easy fixtures are over. Missed the michu a d hazard trains now. Their prices will continue to rise bt at a much slower rate than previousOpen Controls

Right deadzoners... after I use my freebie my team will be:
Jaaskelainen
Cuellar, Hangeland, Williams
Michu, Larsson, VDV, Dembele
Bent, Rvp, Tevez
Noble, Clyne, Ivanovich
Getting Hazard next week for Vdv. Think I have to address Bent in the next week or two and possibly Dembele / Larsson too... so question is:
A. Bent -> Ba (-4)
B. Dembele -> Yaya/HBA (-4)
C. Leave itOpen Controls-
Dembele to Yaya
Open Controls -
C. Leave it
Open Controls -
Tough one really.
A. Ba will have to score AT LEAST one goal to make your hit even worthwhile.
B. Yaya, for me, is a season keeper and might be pushed higher up the pitch whenever Rodwell is on the pitch.
C. Probably best option cause if Bent gets a chance in the box then he'll slot it. (looks unlikely with that Villa midfield though!)Open Controls-
Cheers.
Ba has Villa who look dreadful atm so i'd fancy his chances. Also the fact that i'm set to get Hazard next week means I'd have to leave Bent / Dembele in there for another 2 gameweeks and after int break if I'm set on not taking a hit. So I figure I may as well take the hit this week and get it over with.
I'm just mulling atm, will wait until the League cup matches are played before pulling the trigger.Open Controls

I haven't looked but does Federici rotate well with Jaaskelainen ? I might think about D. Begovic >> Federici. Don't take a hit. I think Larsson would be my concern - will Adam Johnson threaten his place ? I might do Larsson >> Yaya/HBA next week.

Bent will come good. Yaya a definate. Newcastle will be hung over from europe alot this season.
I understand not many players play in europe at the moment but people mss an important point in that pardue has much less time to prepare for premier league games. Before it was all week prior. Now 2/3 days.Open Controls

De Gea Begovic
Baines Zabaletta Hangeland N.Taylor Demel
Bale Yaya Michu Noble Guthrie
RVP Tevez Graham
+0.7m in bank to trade Bale to Hazard if Bale flops againOpen Controls-
I don't have Bale but if he can't put one past that Norwich side (sorry Canaries!) then I'll be very surprised.
Your front 3 for this week looks tasty.Open Controls

Hello deadzoners.
69 points and got a small red arrow (318K weekly rank). Dropped from 66,700 to 66,900. I was totally expecting a Green arrow……..very surprised. Not like i am in the Top 100 where it is difficult yo climb.
I guess that everyone is on the same players. It might be difficult to score crack the Top 10K this year.
in most gameweeks where there are no DGW…..69 is usually a solid score.
What are your thoughts?Open Controls-
All depends where you rank.
I got 64 points this gw and rose, but I was 400Kish before (and that's a good start for me).Open Controls -
I got 61 and dropped 50k places from just over 100k. Was very surprised.
I think it was just because a lot of the kneejerk/bandwagon type players did very well this week including popular captaincy choices. So a lot of the casuals made decent point scores off the back of it and/or wildcards. I mean 51 is high weekly average.Open Controls -
If you average 60 points a week you usually find yourself within the top 10K be end of season. There a few big bandwagon's early (Hazard, Michu, Torres) that the casuals have been on meaning it has been very high scoring to start the season.
Secondly, I think the link to this site on the FPL page has promoted traffic here with the standard of scores increasing as a result.Open Controls-
I'm quite happy with 60pts per week.
That would end up with 60x38=2280 which (as you say) will see you finish comfortably in the top 10K.
Maybe I should be more ambitious, but this is just a pastime for me. 😉Open Controls

Same players who did well last week did well this week. Easy to get back to back good scores.

Does anyone use Firefox on and Android based mobile running Ice cream sandwich and find that this season, most of the posts on here are too tiny to read without a magnifying glass?
Last season my mobile worked fine but due to some changes either with this site or with FF then half the posts are unreadable.
Techy question, I know, but is there an add-on that you use for FF that makes ALL the posts here readable?
Thanks in advance.Open Controls -
really need some more help with this:
ddg, demel and gunter OR jussi, saylor and cuellar?Open Controls-
probably the second option but its a tough one, only going off the fact that utd's defence looks terrible
Open Controls-
but if utd were solid, you would pick the ddg option?
Open Controls-
yes I would am counting on the happening soon because I have kept DDG
Open Controls

2
Open Controls -
I am big on rotating cheapish defenders/mids so I would suggest the second option provided you have a good rotation with Jaskelainen (Begovic ?). You can't really see a ton of CS for WH and RDG this year but SUN and NWC are always a threat to keep a CS at home.

Is it possible in the short term at least (next 6 or so GWs) to do reall well without having all 3 of Tevez, RVP and Hazzard in your team? and would you include even if it means having to get rid of any spurs mid/for options - so no bale/siggy/Ade?
Open Controls -
current team:
de gea
lescott, clark, cuellar,
bale, dyer, noble, pienaar
petric, torres, tevez
subs: federici, gorks, ivanovic, mata
only have 10 players for the next gw, but if clark start his suspension the next gw, i'll only left with 9 players. already done pog -> petric. most probably i will transfer mata -> michu for a hit. then next gw do bale -> hazard and torres -> rvp. thoughts?Open Controls -
OK. What should my transfer this GW be, if any?
DDG - Federici
A Cole - Demel - Hangeland - S Taylor - Zabaleta
Kagawa - Bale - Michu - Britton - Cazorla
Adebayor - Petric - Tevez
0.4 in the bank.Open Controls -
Don't you hate pondering transfers till the lastm inute then do it a minute after its too late?
Open Controls -
Who thinks Everton coverage is vital for the next few weeks?
Ive got peanut and jellyOpen Controls -
can anyone put up a decent argument for Bertrand being a good pick at 4.5?
Open Controls-
Condidered it, prob is if you get him and play him and he only comes on for ten mins it fooks up everything, cud be a real good move though, Di Matteo loves him.
Open Controls -
OOP Top 4 side player for 4.5m who looks half-decent attacking.
Downside, not nailed on in a side with an abundance of midfielders so you can't rely on him and so would need a solid 12th player to come in for him when he doesn't play.Open Controls-
Moses will replace him in the starting XI when Chelsea need width.

Hi y'all:
Would you please look at my team and provide positive and or negative comments?
Vorm, (Begovic),
Lescott, Rafael, Gallas, (McCartney, Clyne),
Hazard, Kagawa, Michu, Pienaar, Dyer,
RVP, Tevez, (Ruiz)Open Controls-
Begovic > Cerny
Lescott > Zabaleta
Gallas (Rotation risk) > Cameron
McCartney> ...Rangel
Ruiz > Petric, GrahamOpen Controls -
Keepers are strong and also 10mil together wich i always try to do
Defence is good but subs could be better
Midfied is very good wouldnt change
Strikers RVP and Tevez great but ruiz you could find better then himOpen Controls -
Defence - Lescott & Gallas rotation risk.
Keepers & Midfield are quality.
Attack - probably upgrade Ruiz.Open Controls

Cameron for Stoke looks a solid player. MOTM in the Arsenal game. Anyone considering him?
Open Controls -
Best option out of these support argument
A) Nolan
B) Jarvis
C) Duff
D) KacOpen Controls -
So once the prise changes occur, that's it, right? Just one group per night?

Yep

Quite happy with my start and where my team is at. It's annoying though, knowing that choosing Terry over Ivanovic has ended up costing me 22 points...
Open Controls -
i thought Dembele looked dangerous vs Man Utd; future fixtures look promising; agree?
Open Controls -
Clichy to Zab ?
Open Controls -
I'm starting to think Ben Arfa might be a better option than Kag and Yaya... someone set me right...
Open Controls-
Captain Ben Arfa against Villa could be a stroke of genius.

anyone think the likes of Everton and Newcastle can push for europe this year
Open Controls-
Everton yes, Newcastle not so sure......
Open Controls -
I think so, Everton in particular. Very strong in back and a creative presence in Pienaar and a proven goalscorer in Jelavic. Moyes has kept the template the same by replacing Cahill with Fellaini. The issue is they have a very small squad and 2-3 injuries could kill the side. Newcastle are loaded in attack but are they suspect in back. Plus, the very best teams seem always to pound them whereas Everton give everyone all they want.

Zabaletta, Hangeland and Noble OR Saylor, Cuellar and Pienaar?

Friedel-Foster
Cole-Rangel-Hughes-Cuellar-McCartney
Michu-Cazorla-Hazard-Yaya-Fellaini
Torres-Tevez-Graham
Any transfer ideas? Thinking of either taking out Fellaini (since he'll play deep) or Cazorla (hasn't done too well, but could give him a chance.) Got 0, in the bank.Open Controls-
no man, that's nice. poss GK too much invested?
Open Controls-
Ahh I see, I'll look into that GK situation. So I should stick with Cazorla and Fellaini? Also, are Torres, Hazard and Cole playing next game week? I've been hearing talk about Hazard possibly rested.
Open Controls
-
-
Mate, leave well alone. Looks solid to me, Cazorla will come good and you know if you transfer him he'll score and make 3 assists the following week......
Open Controls -
Fellaini will play deep. Right. Moyes can talk that nutty s*** all he wants but Fellaini is not going anywhere til the goals dry up. I might think about Kagawa for Cazorla until ARS start to score. Cazorla looks ARS's best attacking player by miles but there hasn't been an end product yet. The short-term ARS schedule does not look particularly goal friendly either.
