[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Good morning gents

Thinking of WC before the rises

    Team is

    Fed / Friedel
    Hange/Clyne/Cuellar/Zab/Iva
    Haz/Noble/Mich/Yaya/Kaca
    Gra/Tev/Rvp

Think Friedel, Zab Ivan KAca all risks and Noble just not performing, already done Bale > Hazard

If I WC now who is going up tonight, want to maximise my team value?

Is it silly to drop Guthrie for Nolan now to avoid the 0.1 price drop or would the transfer be best to be waited on until the internationals are over. Just don't want to lose another 0.1?!

    DDG (Federici)
    Hangeland – Rangel – Zabaleta (Demel/Cuellar)
Bale – Kagawa – Michu – Pienaar (Kacanikilic)
    Torres – Tevez – Graham
    4.4m

    Should I:

    1. Bale -> Hazard
    2. Kaca -> Hazard, Zabaleta -> Saylor, -4pts
    3. No transfers until international break is over (but miss out on price rises)

1 is popular and Bale would inevitably has at least 1 price drop over the next 2 weeks.. Anyway, keeping him might be good differential if you believe AVB and Spurs could perform well soon.

Btw, if budget allow, I would act 3 and wait to do 2.

I try to not using WC. Do you agree if these can be sorted by 1-2 hits ?

Green & Davis ... My initial GK pick was terrible. I will need to get rid at least Green this week.
Zabaleta & Demel ... Are they seriously injured?
Jenkinson ... Will he keep the place?
Noble & Bale … The potentials who have not delivered yet.

    *Davis - *Green
    *Zabaleta - *Jenkinson - Rangel - *Demel - Clyne
Hazard - *Bale - Michu - *Noble - El Ahmadi
    Tevez - RvP - Torres

Demel did not appear to be that hurt. Someone said word is back for GW 4
Not sure about Zab; watched the game didn't seem that bad
Jenkinson should be good for at least the next GW
Noble and Bale don't seem like a priority.
Priority is bringing in one keeper
Not worth a WC at this point. Wait and see how new arrivals impact your players.

Thanks very much JMS.. Agree that GK is top priority.

Hope Demel and Zaba would be fine. Anyway, the latter could lose his place or share more game time with Maicon going forwards.

Bale & Noble will have no problem to play, but it's so boring with their no return.. 🙁

        Keep my WC, I hope.

Hey folks. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how I can remove a team from my private head to head league? I'm the admin of the league, but I can't seem to remove it..

The person whose team it is can't play anymore. I don't want a dead team in our league

            b) A DGW on the scale of GW36 last year

I wasn't that happy with the team this morning. Then the day went badly and Chico and possibly Zaba got added to VDV on the list of players that needed to go. Add in other changes I wanted to make plus the team value benefits over the break and I couldn't resist. Used it after GW3 last year and it was my best decision of the season.

What do you think of my draft:

                  Jussi, Begovic
Baines, Boyce, Cuellar, Davies, 5m (NEW/WBA/another)
                  Hazard, Kagawa, Michu, Nolan, Guthrie
                  RVP, Tevez, Berbatov

Davies is good in the short term but will need to be taken out once Naylor is back. For 5 million I'd take either Saylor or Ridgewell. Both have excellent rotation with Cuellar and offer a decent goal threat, as well as being BP magnets. I'd take both of them over Boyce. Attacking looks stunning, though keep an eye on Sterling as an alternative to Guthrie. |if I came up with a wc team it would look pretty similar to that

Cheers. It seems like Naylor is going to be out for quite some time so Davies isn't a short term pick. Saylor and Ridgewell were certainly the two I was thinking of. I watched some of the Wigan game earlier and Boyce had a couple of very good chances, was unlucky not to get at least an assist. I love the attack, its like 2010/11 only affordable

Frankly, Spurs looked awful last night and Norwich were the better team. I'm both happy and sad as I am a Liverpool fan... but Bale was the first name on my team sheet this year. I'm pretty certain I will offload him in the next 24 hours (just got to admit to myself that I've started badly first) - they just looked so static in midfield!

Need to get Hazard in. Who comes out?

    1. Yaya - Original plan but feel I must keep him.
    2. Kagawa - Is having RVP a good enough reason to get rid?
    3. Michu - Just bought him and his point scoring is as Hazard.
    4. BArfa - Just got him for this GW and has good fixtures, only Newc fixtures.

Hazard contrary to common belief is not a neccessity. He is hardly 11/12's RVP.

No other Chelsea coverage and I think considering all available options you should have in the team. If it goes wrong, he goes out in a few weeks and I'll be at least 0.2m better for it.

        If I don't get him, and he's prolific again, he'll be 10.3m.

Silly to have him over Maloney but there were and still are future starting issues surrounding Maloney. Nolan seems a much better value player even though he is £1m extra.

    Morning all

Self-congratulatory smugness, rancour and sub-literate drivel - must be Sunday morning on the Scout.

Best replacement for Zabaleta at around 5m? The Gaucho's Groucho'd his hamstring and he was a rotation risk anyway. Have Rangel, Baines, Demel and Clyne already. I like S.Taylor and Ridgewell but they're both away next week; any other tasty choices?

Oh, and Sean Maloney, what a little gem. 5m quid, scored 1,7,7 with the prospect of more baps to come. Lovely.

Nice summary of FFS. Good share of visiting egomaniacs on here. I say on here, they mysteriously disappear when they fail. Boyce might be worth a look at 5m. If Saylor and Ridgewell are good long term choices you might as well go with them. Surprise clean sheets happen all the time!

I was thinking of Saturday Night, Sunday Morning not the Dead Zone regulars or the other regulars Isacki. You know, the people who only show up to brag about their score or hope that RVP breaks his leg, those kind of people.
I like Emmerson, Lake and Boyce but 2 Wigan seems like one too many. I'll think on it.

Ridiculous how Pog and Guthrie are going to drop in price, they're rock bottom prices, guaranteed starters and both hit great points return. Makes a mockery of the game when you have players like this falling in value.

Nah. They had high ownerships because of favourable fixtures, now they got though fixtures and people are getting in better options. You could of course say that it's rather redicolous that players with easy fixtures at the beginning of a season will have less potential to rise than players with bad fixtures, but nah, i don't think so. It adds a tactical twist that rewards people for getting differentials at the beginning.

That would be your priority. Bale hasn't scored in the prem in something like 16 matches. AVB has the lead touch with players. Kagawa or the ever popular Hazard if you can afford him.

This is the team I could have for next week with my current squad:

    De Gea

    McCartney Williams Baines

    Ben-Arfa Kagawa Dyer Hazard Michu

    Tevez Ba

    Subs: Jussi, Zab, Clyne, Petric

    Options:

    A) Stick with current squad

    B) Go Zab to another defender worth 5.0m (Which defender should it be?)

    C) Take a hit and go option B + Ba to Adebayor(for the sake of not doubling up on Newcastle)

I don't even think he's out of form as much as playing a system that confuses and stagnates him. He's wandering inside, shooting from miles out and never receives the ball where he does most damage, namely final third on the left touchline with only the fullback in front of him. AVB has condensed their play and taken out their big targets from the box.

Spurs lost a bit, then won a lot, then lost a bit, then won a lot, then lost a bit, then won a bit. Then Chelsea won and Spurs lost without playing.

Always the same thing with Bale. He is a quite limited player. Great pace, great crosses. When his role is rather limited, and the surrounding players know how to play him well, he quite often succeed. He needs the system arround him to work well. He's not one of those world class players that creates most of the play on his own. He needs players to cover his weaknesses. Once Adebayor and Dembele start geling, he should play better. At least of AVB doesn't put him on the right wing. He's not good at cutting inside for a pass or a shot. We saw him do that at times last season, and it never really worked.
