[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yes!! Hazard in a must and if has to be Bale then go for it. If you can find a way to play both then that could work, despite what people say, as Bale will start scoring soon.

Wonder what changes Mark made to his team? Kaboul and Bale both out, surely he's not jumped on the Michu bandwagon?

"Explodes" kind of sums up Bale. Though unfortunately we can't see his GW-by-GW scoring last season on this history page, it was pretty patchy, like 2 2 8 2 15 2 2 10 etc. Made him less of a captain candidate so you could enjoy the big scores. Given that the big scores seem to have dried up...

Had to be done. Much better saving £0.4 and running the risk of Hazard picking up an injury. See of it as not paying a ridiculously high insurance fee and chancing it. Over the season it will save you very well.

elliot ward in for zaba - that will leave you with 3.0 in the bank. You have good goalie rotation and good enough defenders for next week. With extra 3.0 I would wait - keep Petric for next game and see how he works together with berba as they should start together. Solidify your defense, sense you will only have 4 eligible, and then save two transfers for GW 6 where you will prob have enough to bring in suarez for petric and cazorla for bale. I know cazorla GW 6 home vs Chelsea isnt great, but he is cheaper than bale and GW 7 their sched improves greatly

So my team is alright (refer to link) but I would like to make a few changes, Nzog and Valencia out with Haz and Nolan in. Some others I would consider dropping are Bale and Zab.

I have been considering a wc though, and may as well do it now. As i want to catch the price rises so i can make up the money I have lost on Nzog and Valencia without having to sell the likes of Tevez, RVP and Michu.

One thing I've noticed this year.. is the complete lack of Suarez mentions. Yes, he has difficult fixtures but, Rooney aside, he's the best striker in the league and comparitively affordable.

That said, I can't fit him in for another couple of weeks but, when I do get him in, it's likely he'll stay in.

Well if like me you consider a striker and a forward/supporting striker seperate then I believe he kind of is. Not many better goal-poachers in the league than your Darren Bents or your Jelavics. Jelavic for example only needs one touch and it's in the net. Nistlerooy wasn't as flashy either. And that's the point here: Suarez doesn't take his chances, but he makes tonnes of them.

          2) RVP
          3) Rooney
          4) Tevez
          5) Suarez

but with my own top 5:

          1) Aguero
          2) RVP
          3) Rooney
          4) Tevez

RVP is top of this list by a mile. Remember Aguero away from Home last season? No, I don't either.

I don't get how you can rate both Rooney and Suarez so highly at the same time.

Rooney played so average last season. He bagged some goals, yes, but he was average at everything else. I don't get how someone who fancy Suarez that much, a great player yet so ineffective, can rate Rooney that high after last season.

          Imo

          1) RvP(Last season counts the most)
          2) Agüero
          3) Rooney/Tevez

RVP is one dimensional - if can keep him off his left foot, he's harmless. - did you see him in the euro?

            Rooney very inconsistent
Tevez - a workhorse - undoubtebly one of the best
Aguero / Suarez - unstoppable on their day.

I completely agree that suarez belongs on that list. He may have missed many chances by inches, but that will change. There is a reason why he scored so many for Uruguay and ajax. Liverpool have not figured out how to get the best out of him, but I have faith that Rodgers will bring him back to his goalscoring days. Suarez 20+ this season without a doubt.

When Bale explodes, past owners will not care, as no-one has him anymore. When Hazard produces a 0/1/2 or gets injured everybody will care as everybody has him. /logic

So many wildcards being activated. I think it's a bad time to play them. I did it 2 seasons ago and my previous team would've outscored the wildcard.

The weekend after international normally throws up some peculiar results and some players get rested so basically it's a nightmare FPL-wise. To do it for price rises is stupid and the transfer market will completely dry up for a few days next week anyway.

          Hey Scratch:

How important is money in this game? Should I take a 4 point hit by dropping Zab and getting on the Michu bandwagon (he’s likely to be up 0.4 by mid of next GW). Basically is it worth a 4 point hit to bank £0.2m as I’d ditch Michu at this stage.

            Not that important.

I don't mind a few point hits in the opening 10 or so gameweeks because there's usually a lot of tinkering needed from your original team. Probably the right time to sell Zabaletta so I'd go for it.

    My team

    DDG
    Cuellar, clyne, demel, zaba, cashley
    hazard, santi, kags, britton, noble
    tevez, ade, graham

Did bale to hazard. Now am thinking of zaba to s taylor and ade to rvp for a 8 point hit.

    Yes or no?

want to get RVP before price rise

I did the same mistake. I did torres to Ade (should have done RVP!).

Bale will drop over this week i think. you think its worth the 8 points hit...my proposed change? I have RVP captain in mind next week.

Am saving my WC for later in the season

Your proposed change is very very good. I'm also thinking about giving the armband to RVP next GW. Save the WC for the DGW or the Boxing day.
Personally I will keep Bale, I'm about to drop Zabaleta too, but i'm not sure for who yet, I'm waiting for the bandwagons.
