This week’s trio of overlooked options includes a couple of former Tottenham forwards with form on their side and home games on their respective agendas. With last week’s three picking up an assist between them, we’re hoping for an upturn in fortunes:

Peter Crouch

Despite a tricky opening run of fixtures, the Stoke forward has had a decent start to the new season. With a couple of goals already in his locker – including a strike against City in his previous home match – Crouch has also picked up an assist for Tony Pulis’ side. Bearing in mind the Potters have only found the net on four occasions thus far, this means Crouch has played a part in 75% of their goals; a clear example of his importance to the cause.

Although he’s highly priced in the Sky Sports game, coming in at 8.8, a cost of 6.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) represents strong value. Already, he has produced eight bonus points in the latter game and has accrued a total of 29 points – only two behind the likes of Steven Fletcher and Rickie Lambert, for example. While the aforementioned pair have picked up plenty of interest due to their mid-price appeal, Crouch has been largely overlooked; only 6.4% FPL managers have snapped up his services so far.

Up against a Swansea side that have conceded seven goals in their last three league games, he looks an enticing option ahead of tomorrow’s deadline – if Pulis’ side are to register their first win of the new campaign, it seems almost inevitable that Crouch will play some part.

Bobby Zamora

Three goals in four appearances would normally have Fantasy managers scrambling to get aboard the bandwagon. Zamora, however, has suffered the ignominy of a price drop in FPL, slipping from 6.5 to 6.4 despite his strong recent showings. Having been dropped for the season opener at home to Swansea, he was installed to the first-team after the 5-0 Loftus Road thrashing and has been quick to justify Mark Hughes’ decision.

Finding the net in road trips to Norwich, City and Spurs, Zamora’s eye for goal has helped him rack up five bonus points – despite the fact the London outfit have yet to register a win this term. Averaging six points per game in FPL, his consistency has been the one positive in a dismal start for QPR yet only 1.4% of Fantasy managers have been willing to take a chance on the former Fulham man. This weekend sees Zamora handed a home showdown with another of his previous clubs, West Ham, and with both sides desperate to bounce back from their midweek Capital One Cup exits, Zamora could well be the difference as Hughes attempts to engineer a climb up the table.

Robert Snodgrass

Unlike our other two protagonists, the Norwich new boy has had a tricky start to the new campaign. The Canaries have failed to fire under the guidance of Chris Hughton and are currently sitting on just two goals after the opening five Gameweeks. Snodgrass has bagged one of those strikes, firing home a late equaliser away to Spurs to open his account for the season in Gameweek 3.

Having managed 55 minutes of the opener at Fulham, the former Leeds man has played every minute since – an indication of Hughton’s reliance on his creativity and set-piece ability. Liverpool roll up to Carrow Road tomorrow without a clean sheet to their name thus far and if the hosts are to persevere, Snodgrass – with a mere 1.4% ownership in FPL – is likely to be central to their attacking endeavours.

        Counter stats:
Liverpool are unbeaten in their previous four games at Carrow Road and have won their last three.
Norwich have not beaten Liverpool in the last six meetings between the sides (D1, L5) since a 1-0 win in April 1994.
Saurez scored 3 in their last visit.

    a) Berbatov & Tevez > Suarez & Aguero worth a 4 point hit? Team at the moment for GW6 (1 free transfer, 4.0m in the BANK):

    Begovic
    Baines Rafael Cuellar
    Cazorla(vc) Fellaini Michu Sterling
    Van Persie(c) Berbatov Tevez

subs – Foster, Jenkinson, Demel, Maloney

    Other hit free options:
    b) Tevez > Aguero
    c) Tevez > Suarez
    d) Berbatov > Suarez

i would downgrade tevez to fletcher. you have sterling as lpool coverage. then next week i would get in bale for maloney.

bale has 3 tasty fixtures out of 4 after this gmwk - i think its villa at home soton away along with wigan at home

No chance i'll be getting Fletcher.

Spurs do have some decent games after this week but their midfield is such a minefield and i'm far from convnced on Bale despite the recent upturn in FPL points

but thats better than taking a 4pt hit now. at least by then you'll have a FT. It's not just about how many points they earn, its about the total points so if 4 is taken off, thats no good.

Brought in Berbatov on Sunday with my FT. No Everton exposure.

Any thoughts on any of -

    Dembele >> Pienaar
    Yaya >> Fellaini
    Berbatov >> Crouch
Berbatov >> Ba (I have HBA)

    - for a 4 point hit ?

Who to chuck out for Fellaini - Hazard or Nolan?

I'm feeling Hazard due to tough fixtures, CL rotation potential and free up some cash.

Got to get Fellaini for this week though. Other mids are Cazorla, Michu, Guthrie. Want to keep Michu for his next 2 games after this week so comes down to Hazard or Nolan out this week.

Thanks. Think you're right, makes me feel better! Currently got:

            Foster / Beg
            Baines / Gibbs / Demel / Clyne / Davies
            Haz / Caz / Michu / Nolan / Guthrie
            RVP / Tevez / Lambert

Doesn't need much upgrading atm and got 1.4 in the bank already, but probably gonna need some cash in the next few weeks for stuff like Tevez > Ag, Michu/Nolan > Barfa, etc. Will prob upgrade a 4m defender next week to Rafael.

hi all wondering if you can help me
    this is my team
Jaaskelainen (Cerny), Vermaelen, Rangel, Lescott (Clyne, Demel), Hazard. Michu, Yaya Toure, Fellaini (Dembele), Van Persie, Fletcher, Pogrebnyak
    1.9 mil in bank

So nearly wildcarded this week but have fended the desire off but have taken an 8pt hit to bring in:
Demel for Mccartney, Fletcher for Tevez, Fellaini for Guthrie

I have been doing terrible over the last few weeks and need to stop the rot.

Answer me these 3 qu's please
    1) Right subs (in brackets)?
    2) considering the 2 hits already would you take more? I think the answer is obvious hence 3)
    3) ignoring the 2 hits already, I want to get either Ba or Baines in. I'd like some advice as to the best way to do it. i.e. Lescott to Baines, Michu to Gardner & Pog to Ba
    Any help really appreciated

      1. Demel Lescott City's not doing very well in terms of cleanies
      2. Why Fellaini for Guthrie? He's cheap and plays as an attacking mid. He's the perfect sub.
      3. Pog -> Ba and Lescott -> Baines sounds good

thanks for replying, Guthrie has done nothing since gw 1, I had money to burn and had had 2 weeks of being in the 2million plus on the rankings! Decided changes had to be made before Im out of touch in my league.I know the hits are stupid thing to do but needed to make more than just one improvement in my book given the fact all my rivals seem to have all the form players of the moment. I think I will leave the changes now and just stick to the subs advice I've had.
        Thanks

1 Subs look fine - Rangel or Demel looks much of a muchness to me
2 if youre gonna take more hits just wildcard and be done with it, its there to fix your team on wks when you want 4/5 transfers rather that losing 16 hard earned pts!
3 If you wanted Baines you should have done Baines for MaCartney and brought inLambert instead of Fletcher. Bringing in Baines now aint as simple as hits, who you gonna take out? you gotta reshuffle your team for him.

A question to you, why you bring in Demel for a 4 p hit of youre not even playing him?? youre just throwing away points mate

thanks simsey33 for replying - The not playing Demel thing is a silly mistake - he was my freebie I made at the beginning of the week. I made the other two once tevez played 120 mins as I'm sick of having my best players not play - I will definitely be playing Demel now based on the advice I have received. - as said in another reply - no more hits. Advice received!
As you suggest - any more and I may as well 'wc' and if I'm gonna do that then I'll do it after tomorrows deadline or over the international break. Thanks again for all advice received.

          welcome mate.
try to relax on the transfers, wait as late as you can in the week unless you know you want someone before their price rises. Especially when cup games are midweek.
Other than that Vermaelen, Lescott, Hazard. Michu, Toure, Fellaini, Van Persie, Fletcher, Pogrebnyak all have goals in em. its a good team 60+ this wk i reckon.

Thx will do - I'm a bit of a sucka to be honest for the price rises and drops, if i know I'm gonna do transfer(s) in any one week I keep both eyes firmly planted on whats happening each night. Demel was done to reap a reward and it looked like Mccartney was about to drop, I waited on Fletcher and Fellaini until they had both played in the cup but brought them in again before both rose as I just wont be able to get them in next week not if I want Baines in. Been reading for years, but not posted often - think I wanted to get the hits advice to stop my trigger finger from doing anymore!

im still undecided on pienaar or felliani. one will be shipped out in a few weeks to sterling to raise cash for defence or someone like ageuro. atm 3 of them for the next two games will give me a better indication whos a season keeper and hopefully a bucket load of points lol.

i did have stelring in for pienaar but im assuming pienaar will do well tomorrow compared to sterling and the 2m cant really improve me much elsewhere

when I looked at wc this week which I chickened out of, the last thing I would have done was have michu in the team. Not sure if you already have him but given the money I think there is a lot more you could do with it. Not sure about Glen Johnson either and no Man City.
Remainder is very similar to my plans.
