First half strikes from Matt Jarvis and Ricardo Vaz Te are enough to earn the Hammers a first away win and leave QPR adrift at the bottom of the table. Here’s the Stock Check from Monday’s Gameweek finale…

On the Up

Adel Taarabt
Back to fitness and back in favour, Taarabt found his way onto the R’s bench and entered the action to drag Mark Hughes’ side back into the game. His goal was sublime and unstoppable, his touch and creativity also eye-catching. If only he could cement a regular starting role, he’d be QPR’s one major Fantasy asset.

Andy Carroll
On the bench after recovering early from a hamstring injury, Carroll was introduced for Carlton Cole midway through the second half and, despite Cole’s work rate, the Geordie will surely replace him in the lineup when Arsenal pay visit this weekend. Kevin Nolan and company will be delighted. Arsene Wenger won’t be.

Ricardo Vaz Te
Those Fantasy managers searching for a budget option in attack could do well to consider the Portuguese striker who claimed his first goal of the season to accompany two assists so far. Yossi Benayoun will threaten his starting role but Vaz Te is doing enough to warrant his start right now.

Jussi Jaaskaleinen
Denied a clean sheet by Taarabt’s wonder strike, the Finnish stopper nonetheless impressed with a string of saves to offer a reminder as to his value in the budget keeper bracket.

Going Down

Winston Reid
Forced off in the first-half, the Kiwi defender suffered concussion and could therefore be a doubt for the weekend. West Ham have an able replacement in James Tomkins and Reid’s growing Fantasy ownership (12.5% in the FPL) will be monitoring news from the Hammers camp with interest. A clean sheet against the Gunners would seem unlikely but Tomkins will be looking to make a firm claim for a starting role if he’s given the opportunity.

Mark Noble
His performances are strong but his Fantasy returns are lacking. Noble’s reliance on set-pieces has yet to pay dividends and patience appears to be wearing thin. With the likes of Raheem Sterling offering a decent prospect in the budget bracket, Noble’s ownership continues to diminish.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

hey guys, I'm pretty new here but posting cos I desperately need some advice.

my team (1.3m in the bank) :

    Bego Vorm
    Baines Demel Hughes Cuellar Clark
    Caz Haz Michu Pienaar Guthrie
    RVP Fletch Ba

my defence is clearly in shambles right now so is it worth it for me to upgrade one of my defs for a hit? (I used my FT to get Ba in for Berbs)

any other advice would be appreciated!

Have nearly the same defense (Gibbs instead of Clark) and was pondering the same thing. I haven't used my FT, but already have Foster. Don't want to double up, but don't have enough cash or desire to pick up a Chelsea or City defender...might just ride it out and save the transfer for the international break.

Is anyone else still having problems with the CL fantasy game? It appears that:
    1) I can't view gameweek 1 teams of people in my league (thankfully I didn't bother to join or set up head to head leagues)
    2) No price changes have occurred (despite the rules mentioning that price valuations will change)
    3) The site is still difficult to navigate with transfers etc.
    4) The people running this site haven't acknowledged that the game was inaccessible leading up to matchday one deadline and up until a few hours before the second day of games for match day 1
    5) Adding on to point 4, it appears that the people playing the game haven't been awarded a free wildcard (as FPL did last year) leading up to matchday 2...or some sort of apology and blurb about
    6) Leading up to matchday 1, the player information was accurate...so if you had Maxi Periera and didn't realize he was suspended, there was no indicator in the information
    7) The tipsters (not that I read them in the past) haven't updated for week 2. Reading about how Eden Hazard is in form and is about to play Juve is wrong on so many levels. Who has time to react to late information if the site is down again?

Based on all of this information, I will likely go through the motions this season (so that I don't lose my history) and hope the incompetent people running the game this year are forever removed from any involvement with this game and any similar occupation and that all will be fixed by next year.

I share your frustration, I'm just gonna give it up. & Just to add on 3) I go to get rid of Hazard and Ozil, decide that I want to keep Hazard and just bring in Di Maria. The game thinks I've made 2 transfers for -2 because it thinks I've got rid of Hazard as well.. in short, the game is hopeless.

Is it likely that Bale will score 4 more over the next four of five weeks?

I think so - I did the same transfer for a hit. Ultimately if you ask enough people on here, you'll get the answer you were looking for; hits are good business if they pay off. I did it because I wouldn't have been able to afford it if Bale goes up and Michu goes down.

I ditched RVP two weeks ago, you never know he could always be rested or rotated. There will be other great captain choices every, despite some picking RVP.

Especially with Rooney back and looking sharp, I would drop RVP.

for me with Rooney back and looking sharp it's even more reason to keep RVP.. SAF will not rotate them he will play them together

Very untrue, he may play 1 in CL and then give Welbeck, Chicarito a chance in an easier PL game(all that counts). Whats the point of having a 13.5 player that may be rested in easy games?

I personally think SAF will want to give Pig and RVP as much gametime together as possible so they can strike up an understanding.

I could of course be wrong but that's my opinion

wouldn't say it was untrue as neither of us are SAF

      A) you've missed bucktooth's massive score. With Kun going to Argentina for the Int'l break, I would now keep Tevez. I switched last week...
      B) and C) don't get rid of RVP.. Manu looked awesome as I'm sure you know 2nd half against spurs when the pig came on.

Is there another way you can get Bale?

Suarez could still score well over the next 2 GWs.
I could do Hazard -> Bale but I'll probably keep him considering Chelski are playing Norwich.

I had always planned on getting Suarez in for his next 2 fixtures. Yes, I realise that I've missed his big GW, but I never really expected him to do that well away at Norwich (whose defence has been quite solid this season) anyway.

Had him on my WC. Swapped Nolan for Jarvis at 11h28 the Sat morning in week 3(check my trasfr history) LOL

The nly time he played for me was when he came on for 34min to deny me a 6pts CS from Demel.

Obviously he will do well now that i've sold him.

My season is flushing away donw the toilet at the moment. Time to gamble with (c) me thinks.

as a united fan, i'm reluctant to captain ba though, as i hope united defense will improve after last weekend's defeat..but the truth is united can't keep clean sheet at the moment, and with ba's current form, he has the potential to score a few goals

As a reds fan & possible Suarez owner this week i'd like nothing more then for hit the top form & stay there, however I feel it's a bit early to hand him the armband. Out of your options i'd go Kun depending on midweek gametime.

not sure who I am captaining this week.

    Bucktooth - Stoke are tough
RVP - Newcastle defence is in tatters ATM so possibly
Haz - Norwich, well it's Norwich who are leaking goals for fun
Santi - playing WH, who are looking pretty good
Michu - against Reading but too risky

It's either RVP or Haz.. leaning towards Hazard.. what do you guys think?

they looked immense and kagawa stepped up as well 2nd half...

RVP/PIG are going to tear it up.

this spurs team is still young, speedy and full of stamina and energy, which is the reason why avb has failed at chelsea.
