With international games taking place right across the globe yesterday, we arenโ€™t short of matches to report on. As usual, hereโ€™s a heads-up on those fixtures that featured Premier League protagonists, with minutes played and attacking returns listed for each and every one…

Albania 1 Iceland 2
Gylfi Sigurdsson played the full 90 minutes and grabbed the winner as Iceland earned a crucial three points. The Spurs midfielder fired home a free-kick with less than 10 minutes remaining on the clock.

Turkey 0 Romania 1
Nuri Sahin was handed a brief sub appearance for the hosts; the Liverpool midfielder climbed off the bench with nine minutes remaining. West Bromโ€™s Gabriel Tamas played the full 90 minutes for the visitors.

Bulgaria 1 Denmark 1
Only one Premier League player of note in this match. Liverpoolโ€™s Daniel Agger completed the 90 minutes for the Danes without any problems.

Belarus 0 Spain 4
Santi Cazorla and David Silva both started for the defending champions โ€“ Cazorla lasted the full 90, while Silva was replaced by Andres Iniesta on 56 minutes. Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres were unused subs.

Slovakia 2 Latvia 1
A couple of Premier League centre-halves were in action here. Martin Skrtel started for the hosts but was subbed off just before the final whistle, while Readingโ€™s Kasparss Gorkss played the entire match for Latvia.

Macedonia 1 Croatia 2
West Bromโ€™s Goran Popov started at left-back for the home side, though was subbed off on 82 minutes due to tactical reasons. Nikica Jelavic was named in the visitorsโ€™ first XI and was afforded just over an hourโ€™s run out before making way.

Serbia 0 Belgium 3
Branislav Ivanovic, Aleksandar Kolarov and Matija Nastasic were all part of the home defence for the 3-1 defeat to Belgium. The visitors had plenty of Premier League stars in action. Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen were joined by Vincent Kompany in the back-four, with the City skipper recovering from the calf problem that ruled him out of the Gameweek 7 win over Sunderland. Eden Hazard, Moussa Dembele and Christian Benteke also featured; while the Chelsea winger was subbed off on 55 minutes, the latter two grabbed an assist and goal respectively. Evertonโ€™s Kevin Mirallas climbed off the bench with three minutes remaining but still found enough time to score his nationโ€™s third.

Estonia 0 Hungary 1
West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera was named in the Hungary starting XI โ€“ the Baggies man came through 79 minutes before being replaced for the visitors.

Holland 3 Andorra 0
Robin Van Persieโ€™s Fantasy owners will be breathing a little easier after the United man was left on the subs bench last night. Johnny Heitinga and Ron Vlaar played the full 90 minutes in the heart of the Dutch defence.

Switzerland 1 Norway 1
Johan Djourou was handed a start for the home side before being subbed off just after the hour mark. Fulham pair John Arne Riise and Brede Hangeland played the full 90 for Norway and both were pivotal to last nightโ€™s result; Hangeland nodded home a Riise corner with less than 10 minutes left to earn the away side a point.

Wales 2 Scotland 1
Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Allen, Ashley Williams, Steve Morison, David Vaughan, Ben Davies and Chris Gunter were all handed starts by Chris Coleman, while Hal Robson-Kanu climbed off the bench. Bale was the inspiration in his nationโ€™s late comeback win; scoring from the spot before lashing home from 20 yards thanks to a Vaughan assist, he’s likely to pick up more Fantasy investment on the back of last night’s display. Ramsey is now suspended for Tuesdayโ€™s match with Croatia after picking up a booking.

Alan Hutton, Gary Caldwell, Danny Fox, Shaun Maloney, Darren Fletcher, James Morrison and Steven Fletcher were all part of Craig Leveinโ€™s XI. Morrison grabbed the opener thanks to a Fletcher assist before being withdrawn on 84 minutes, while Charlie Adam and Jamie Mackie both earned game time as second-half subs.

Republic of Ireland 1 Germany 6
Kieren Westwood, John Oโ€™Shea, James McCarthy, Seamus Coleman and Jon Walters all started for Giovanni Trapattoniโ€™s side in a night to forget. Shane Long and Unitedโ€™s Robbie Brady climbed off the bench in the second half, with the latter providing an assist for the Republicโ€™s late consolation.

Arsenal pair Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski both featured for Joachim Lowโ€™s side. The former played the full 90 in the heart of defence, while Podolski managed 24 minutes after climbing off the bench midway through the second-half.

Greece 0 Bosnia 0
Fulhamโ€™s Giorgos Karagounis was sent on as a sub for the hosts on 66 minutes. Asmir Begovic picked up another clean sheet, while Eden Dzeko was also given the full 90 minutes for the away side.

Russia 1 Portugal 0
Nani was given the full 90 minutes for the visitors but his ineffectual season continued as Fabio Capelloโ€™s side picked up the three points.

Czech Republic 3 Malta 1
Petr Cech played the full 90 minutes as Mikel Bilekโ€™s side eased to a home win in their Group B qualifier.

Faroe Islands 1 Sweden 2
Jonas Olsson and Seb Larsson both managed the full match for the visitors. Fulham winger Alex Kacaniklic made an instant impact for the Swedes โ€“ climbing off the bench just after the hour mark, it took him just three minutes to find the net as the visitors came from behind to deny their hosts a famous victory.

Kazakhstan 0 Austria 0
Villaโ€™s Andres Weimann was afforded a brief workout, coming off the bench for the away side with six minutes left on the clock.

England San Marino
England XI: Hart; Walker, Cahill, Lescott, Baines; Walcott (Lennon 10), Carrick, Cleverley, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Welbeck, Rooney.

United front pair Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck both bagged braces in a straightforward win, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain notching the fifth. Welbeck also provided an assist for a converted Rooney spot-kick after being fouled in the box, while Aaron Lennon and Tom Cleverley provided a pair of assists apiece. Rooney was afforded 73 minutes by Roy Hodgson before making way for Andy Carroll, while Jonjo Shelvey replaced Michael Carrick on 66 minutes. Theo Walcott was subbed off early after a nasty looking collision with the San Marino keeper โ€“ early reports suggest he has been taken to hospital for further tests on a suspected broken rib. Certainly, Roy Hodgson was sounding pessimistic in his post-match comments…

“He’s having a scan. It didn’t look too good, but until they have X-rayed it and scanned it, we really don’t know. It did put a dampener on the evening”

England U21 1 Serbia U21 0
Steven Caulker, Danny Rose, Craig Dawson, Raheem Sterling, Jack Rodwell and Jordan Henderson were all amongst the starters for Stuart Pearceโ€™s side. West Bromโ€™s Dawson grabbed the gameโ€™s only goal from the penalty spot, while Rodwell was replaced at half-time and Sterling subbed off on 66 minutes for Tottenhamโ€™s Andros Townsend.

Ecuador 3 Chile 1
West Bromโ€™s Gonzalo Jara and Wiganโ€™s Jean Beausejour both started for the visitors. The Baggies defender was afforded the full 90 minutes, though Beausejour was subbed off on 76 minutes.

France 0 Japan 1
Four Premier League players started for the beaten hosts. Hugo Lloris, Laurent Koscielny, Gael Clichy and Olivier Giroud were all handed 90 minutes, while Unitedโ€™s Shinji Kagawa and Southamptonโ€™s Maya Yoshida both played the full match for Japan.

Argentina 3 Uruguay 0
Sergio Aguero netted either side of Lionel Messi brace to help Argentina dominate their South American rivals. Aguero started the game but was replaced on 78 minutes with the game won. City team-mate Pablo Zabaleta played the full 90. Luis Suarez also completed a full match in opposition.

Antigua and Barbuda 1 USA 2
Former Fulham striker, Eddie Johnson, notched a brace to give the US a dramatic late victory here in a match that saw both Stoke’s Geoff Cameron and Tottenham’s Clint Dempsey complete 90 minutes. Tim Howard also played out the game in goal for the US.

Guyana 0 Mexico 5
Javier Hernandez struck one of the five goals as the Mexicans thrashed their hosts with a late flurry of goals – all five arriving in the final 15 minutes. Hernandez played his part, coming away with two assists in addition to Mexico’s fourth on the night as he played the entire 90 minutes.

El Salvador 0 Costa Rica 1
Everton’s Bryan Oviedo and Fulham’s Bryan Ruiz both started the match in El Salvador with Ruiz providing the layoff for Costa Rica’s deciding goal. He was later replaced at half-time with the home side dishing out some “strong challenges”. Some reports suggest that Ruiz suffered a knock – we’ll likely hear more before Coast Rica’s clash with Guyana on Tuesday.

Canada 3 Cuba 0
Norwich City’s Simeon Jackson played the full 90 minutes for the victorious Canadians against a Cuban side who could only put eleven players in opposition after four of their squad defected on arrival in Toronto.

Panama 0 Honduras 0
Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa was the only domestic player on show and he played the full 90 minutes of the goalless stalemate.

Tahiti 0 New Zealand 2
While both Ryan Nelsen and Winston Reid were unused subs in this game, Reid’s selection for the bench offers further reassurance that he’ll be in contention for West Ham on his return. Sam Allardyce has feared that Reid would be struggling to return for the Gameweek 8 clash having suffered a back spasm in the defeat to Arsenal.

is Silva + Tevez too much City coverage?

if yes, who would be the better option?

How can you have too much coverage?!!

      I dont understand this logic.

If you think Man City will do good in their short term fixtures, surely it is best to get 3 of their players?!!

Tevez being rotated is a diferent argument.

+1 coverage is a trap where some people fall. If a team has 3 good fantasy options, you can (should) have them all. On the other hand, in they dont, you dont need any just because they play for a certain team. Always judge players as individuals.

Yes, Silva is not on form at all. Get Mata, depending on who else you have. Tevez needs to be kept as he should start next gameweek due to no international duty.

I agree Berbs has class and all and was just singin his praises above.. however, my plan was to get him next week. Take Villa out of the equation and even he will struggle against that opposition!! 4 away games against very tough defenses(apart from reading) and the home games aint easy either. i may just hold onto tevez and skip him until that run gets over. Ba’s schedule turns bad by GW 15 which coincides with Berbs good run. may get him in for him then. ..

Kind words Footyjuana. I do ideally want Berba but not at the cost of disrupting my team. Whoever comes in for Vaz Te will probably be on the bench anyway so it's a straight swap for either Pog or DiSanto. Leaning towards Pog as Reading have good fixtures and Wigans few goals are spread out between their strikers and Maloney.

End of last page in case anyone's considering Giroud -

If Walcott’s rib is broken that’s Giroud nailed on.

Gervinho will start at inside right (or left in the event of a rest for Podolski), rotating with Chamberlain – and Ramsey in tougher away games.

      Not necessarily.
The front three could consist be Podolski Gervinho Ox
Ox and Ramsey could rotate too. Also, not that this is likely, but in the pre season friendlies Santos played LW. Also Podolski can play striker.

The point is that Walcott was back-up - and pushing for - the right spot. It's about cover in certain areas, and about attacking options off the bench in certain areas. Of course it has an impact. Gervinho now becomes more important in the rotation at inside right. You'll see.

Giroud could easily start every game, and Gervinho may very well play on the right but this was obviously likely/possible before Walcotts injury and not much changes. Its not really a big call.

I think it was almost certainly going to happen at Norwich, but I think Walcott was likely to start that too. Over the coming weeks, with an option less on the right, Gervinho will be factored in there more often and so less likely to come into the equation up front - which nails on Giroud. Just saying, it lessens Giroud's rotation risk.

I dont understand what you are saying?

RVP scored 3 against Chelsea (who were doing bad under a different manager), while playing for Arsnal, last year!!

Now he is playing for Man Utd, while Chelsea have a different manager & about 5 new players.

This all means that RVP will score 3 against Chelsea in 2 weeks time?

My point was that RVP is not worth getting in for the next 3 GW's, as he has difficult fixtures & in my opinion will not score loads of goals.

He is worth considering after these games, when Utd's fixtures get easier & his price will be less than it currently is now.

This is my opinion & the reason why I have said all along why I am not getting him yet.

You miss my point all together...

He mentioned the fact that RVP scored 3 goals against Chelsea last year, as an indication that he may do the same this year.

I was stating that the comparison means very little, as RVP is playing for a different team now & is playing against a team that has a new manager & new players...

So comparing that performance means little to how he will perform against Chelsea in 2 weeks.

I never said RVP's hat-trick was an indication of anything. I was just thinking your point of 'HE PLAYED FOR ARSENAL THEN' and 'NOW HE PLAYS FOR MAN UTD' doesn't really mean anything. Are Arsenal better than Man Utd at scoring goals?

Has RVP changed that much as a player? Has he forgotten how to score hat-tricks? No...

You are moving away from the original point.

I said I feel RVP wont score that well over the next 3 games, you compared one fixture from last year, to suggest he will.

I said that doesnt mean he will score the same this year.

But you go ahead & captain RVP at Stamford Bridge.

                  I wont.

                  Good luck.

All he said (lateriser not Martin) was that RVP scored a hat-trick against them..showing that he 'can' perform against good teams not that he 'will' score 3 against them again. Nobody thinks just because he scored 3 against Chelsea last year means he will do it again..

What do we expect from Mata @tot and Cazorla @nor? Is it worth a transfer to swap them? Currently I own Mata and Santi is top of my shopping list. I could wait one more week potentially and by downgrading Suarez getting Santi just waiting one more week. But the potential against leaky nor defense is big right? And I don't want to have Bale and Mata in same game.

    The team
    Jussy
    Baines GJ Gallas
    Bale Mata Michu Nollan
    Kun Lambert Suarez
    bench: Sterling Gibbs Wilson

I would not want to be without any arsenal players vs Norwich. But Carzola dont look like he will get many explosive scores so you could be ok for 1 more.

Chelsea have some tough games coming up whereas Arsenal have a nice stretch of easy games on paper.

I will be swapping Hazard for Santi after the International break as I think Santi will outscore Haz over the next 6 games. The same could be said about Mata although, when I get Chelsea players back I would rather have Mata than Hazard anyway.

      Keep Suarez this week definitely!

I think Chelsea could stutter against better teams- as we saw against Arsenal. Only got 2 lucky goals. I dont think you should get rid of Hazard- but doubling up is not a good idea IMO with their fixtures. With options like Silva, Bale, Cazorla in the same price range.

I don't think the next 6 games will see me regret it if I take Hazard out for Santi. Still have a WC and would rather have Mata. Hazards biggest games came when Mata wasn't starting. Been living off that ever since.

Asuuming I get him I will have major captaincy issues as i will have this team

            RvP, Jelavic, Berba

I was planning on shipping him to Bale or Lennon this week, but Ramirez' injury has changed things so I have little choice but to give him one more week at least. Alas as there is 1 million difference in their price I can not afford Ramirez to Bale.

yes, but most people were suggesting Nolan for 2 games only. Having looked at his fixtures again, barring the City game they don't look that bad. Plus based on Facer's post Ramirez might only be out for 2 or 3 games, this is perfect for Nolan.

Varies from season to season but I'm guessing around the 2,000 mark.

Cheers Milanista, I actually meant, at the moment, how many points is a 100k rank.

Tevez could easily outscore Tevez this gameweek.

      Mid to long-term - Aguero.

      Very short-term - Berbatov.

haha I can guarantee that Tevez will not outscore Tevez. Good chance they'll have similar game weeks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm tilting towards Aguero due to more of his goal threat! Tevez has to go as I think I've waited for too long and there are better options than him.

    How are Aguero owners feeling?

On the one hand, he's showing great form....... on the other hand he's now a massive rotation risk...

(show me a one handed fantasy football manager)

Nah, loads of time last season he started same situations. I fancy good point hauls coming up, starting with Tevez.
