City’s unbeaten run stretches to 10 games but their toils in front of goal continue, with a goalless draw at Upton Park. Sergio Aguero is handed a sub role yet again, while Andy Carroll draws yet another blank for the hosts:

On the Up

City Defence
This evening’s goalless draw maintained the champions’ recent upturn in defensive resilience. It’s three clean sheets and just one goal conceded in the last four Gameweeks now for Roberto Mancini’s men – the likes of Chelsea and United have one clean sheet apiece in the last six, by comparison.

West Ham Defence
A first clean sheet in six was just rewards for the home side’s resilient efforts. Sam Allardyce will be buoyed by his team’s ability to nullify City’s threat but with Guy Demel still sidelined and James Tomkins missing out through injury, the Hammers boss will be hoping James Collins can shake off a knock which forced him off towards the end, given their upcoming schedule.

Going Down

Sergio Aguero
With a vital Champions League game against Ajax in midweek, Aguero was benched yet again for this evening’s trip to Upton Park. Roberto Mancini started with three of his four forwards and while the Argentine was afforded some game time late on, he has now been omitted from the City first XI in three of the past four Gameweeks – despite his obvious capabilities, Aguero has simply become far too frustrating a Fantasy option right now, with his manager’s up front rotation dramatically curtailing his appeal.

Andy Carroll
His loan move to West Ham, which saw the towering centre-forward reunited with Sam Allardyce, was hailed as the perfect fit. The Hammers’ tactics seemed tailor-made for Carroll, with delivery from wide guaranteed to create chances aplenty in the air but it hasn’t quite transpired as Allardyce would have hoped. Another blank today means Carroll has just one assist in six appearances since making his way to Upton Park.

Best defender to replace Wilson (Stoke)

Budget is 5.3m but would like to keep some spare for kitty....

    Cameron 4.5m
    Shawcross 5m
    Ridgewell 5m

I already have Baines, Baird, Davies and Clyne and normally play 3 at the back

If you can permit to ignore keeping some spare. As I mentioned on the previous page:

I think mertesacker the safest bet to give you good points returns between now and the January window for that price. His fixtures from here to there are genuinely excellent, and I believe he's still playing in the defence which has conceded the fewest goals.

There are a lot of other options at that price or less who are producing consistently. When I watch Chelsea, Oscar still looks a bit 'soft' ? Maybe will take a half season for him to sort the Prem.

    Team for Gameweek 11:
    Begovic (Foster)
    Baines, Ivanovic, Shawcross, Rafael (Nelsen)
    Mata, Fellaini, Routledge (Duff, Noble)
    RVP, Tevez, Ba

    Options:
    A) Stick with above team
    B) Tinker with current team
    C) Transfer Mata > Santi (due to hamstring injury) and Felliani > Pienaar (cause of suspension risk)

    Whats your thoughts?

          (repost from last page)
So I think I’m going to do Fletcher > Berbatov tonight. His fixtures aren’t the best but he’s on penalties and he has assists in him…plus Fulham are playing good attacking football lately. The alternatives are Holt, Kone or Mirallas.

I think with 2FT it’s worth doing it before his rise tonight? Sound like a plan?

          Thanks for your thoughts…

I'm pretty sure you're bored with my thoughts, but when you throw Mirallas into the mix I begin to wonder. I have Berb and think he is a solid asset. Fixtures not good atm but he always gets something. But Mirallas is a clever punt. He might really start to produce. Big risk but possibly big reward. But Berb is a solid move.

I'm just not sure when you consider I have Baines and Pienaar currently. I don't fancy having an everton midfielder as my striker...and I don't see him outscoring Jelavic/Fellaini by much....I would definitely consider it if I had no Everton coverage...but I don't really fancy it at the minute. I think with Berbatov I'm buying attacking coverage from Fulham who are looking strong going forward...and he's on penalties...and no-one else jumps out to me currently at that price...Thanks for your advice mate!

Okay guys, I hardly ever resort to asking for advice, but I have a massive head-scratcher ahead of Van Persie's imminent rise and decent fixtures:

    Foster Begovic
    Baines Shawx Hughes Demel Nelson
    Mata Cazorla Bale Morrison Sterling
    Aguero Defoe Ba

0.6 in the bank means that I need to free up 1.7 to bring in RVP for Aguero.

    My options appear to be:

    A Mata > Fellaini
    B Cazorla > Fellaini
    C Bale > Fellaini
    D Morrison > Puncheon
E Defoe > 6.1 or lower (Long, Holt, maybe Ruiz)
F Ba > 6.5 or lower (Lambert, maybe Kone)
    G Something else

Any help would be really appreciated, I'm going crazy here. My heart is leaning towards Mata > Fellaini right now, but that could be very foolish!

I lean to E. I don't think AVB is convinced by Defoe. 56 minutes today and I wouldn't be surprised if Adebayor returns to the starting lineup now that he is fit. F is a calculated risk but Kone has looked really, really good for Wigan. I just think Mata is well worth keeping and I would stay away from A. Mata had 162 points in ~2500 min last year. Great FF asset.

really torn between ba and tevez, more opponants in leagues have ba so thinking of keeping tevez as more of a differential. (strangely) will consider this cos i did promise myself no hits this year and ive made it through 10 weeks without a hit.

Rafael is in fantastic form. I picked him up three weeks ago and he has provided me with some nice points every week with assists. I wouldn't tell you NOT to get him.

However, with the return of both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones imminent, you have to wonder if Rafael minutes will suffer as a result. Just something you need to think about before getting him.

I think the 1 is definitely up for grabs between Rafa and Cazorla. I disregard Rooney because of shot off target, missed penalty and yellow card. Could be wrong I suppose its very close.

The missed penalty is just a shot off target...I don't think they deduct more points for it...I could be wrong though. RVP got a yellow too so I hope they don't dock much for those.

Rooney's stats for the game are immense so I wouldn't be surprised if he got some.

Cazorla did little wrong and scored.

Evra scored...so I'd put him over Rafael for baps.

What's the likelihood of RVP and Fellaini rising TWICE before the Champions League games are through Tues/Wed.

I plan on Bale and Suarez out for RVP + Fellaini but if they both rise twice (0.2 each) would love to take advantage of that 0.4 gain rather than wait it out.

Think RVP will be rested midweek anyway but would hate to see them both go up 0.2 each by Tues/Wed

If I do the move now would leave me 1.1m in bank - if I wait until later in the week could be 0.7m in bank... worth the risk to have 0.4m extra in bank to sweat out Manchester United at Braga?

      POLL QUESTION:

Basically - what is worth more 0.4m or a -4 hit if RVP gets injured midweek and I need to take him out.

Close in both cases. Many wasted transfers for Fellaini won't help. RVP being expensive could also be a factor.

Think I am going to get Felliani in suspension risk or not. He seems point man over Pienaar now? Can do Pienaar > Felliani and thinking Lambert > Ruiz to free up case for the move. This for -4 and to catch the impending double Felliani rise no doubt.

    Cheers
