On the Up

Joey O’Brien
The former Bolton man struck his first Premier League goal to bring the Hammers back on terms as Big Sam’s men rallied for the second period. O’Brien once again lined up at right-back, leaving a fit-again Guy Demel stranded on the bench. The 4.0 prospect has started the last three league outings, earned an assist in Gameweek 11 and is now ranked second amongst West Ham’s defenders in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. With bonus to follow, O’Brien is set to earn new suitors, although West Ham’s short-term fixtures remain a concern.

Jon Walters
A superbly worked goal reminded us of the quality that Walters has in his game but this was only his second strike of the season. Even as a 6.3 midfielder in the FPL, pushed up alongside Peter Crouch in attack, he’s been overshadowed by a gang of similar mid-price talent this term, not least Kevin Nolan in opposition tonight.

Going Down

Guy Demel and James Collins
Both have returned to fitness but have been kept on the bench for two consecutive matches by the Hammers. It seems that Collins faces a fight to earn a recall alongside Winston Reid as James Tomkins stakes his claim for regular starts. As for Demel, his prospects took a bigger dent has Joey O’Brien impressed again in the right-back berth.

Mark Noble
The booking tonight took him to four for the season, lifting him onto Anorak’s “Suspension Tightrope” and leaving him just one yellow from a one-match ban. Noble is owned by over 5% of the FPL player base.

Andy Wilkinson
The make-shift left-back limped off after 32 minutes after picking up an injury and will now presumably be an early doubt for the home clash with Fulham.

First time doing Fantasy Football (Im 17 btw and a Chelsea fan). Would love any help thanks. Sorry this is a bit of an essay.

Was leading a private league by 100 or so and that leads completely gone. I guess I was stupid, I let the whole "personal feelings" thing get involved. I REALLY need help please.

This is my team (the one that just played). I started off really well but it's slowly declined. ANY help is appreciated thanks.

My team is currently worth 99.6m (I think, this is what happens when I go to 'make transfers' and then remove all the players)

I'm strongly considering using my wildcard. Last 3 or 4 weeks have been getting 40ish points while friends have been gettings 60s.

I know my front 3 are terrible. Thats where I let personal feelings get involved. Love Torres. Love Lukaku. HATE Suarez. Which is why I won't get him but I understand I have to change that.

I was considering completely disregarding defence and GK since barely anyone keeps cleansheets at the moment, noone does consistently. Would this be a bad move? Just going for 4.0 ish rated defenders + Goalkeepers and stacking up my midfield.

I was thinking for my midfield something similar to what I have now but Maloney to Sterling and Hazard to Cazorla. This would all be depending on how some players perform in CL.

Front 3 seems a bit mainstream right now of Tevez, Suarez, Berbatov. Do you think this is a good/bad time to use wildcard? Since its my first season I honestly have no idea.

  Looking at your team, i`d say go ahead and wildcard. Pick cheap keepers/defenders that rotate well (meaning you always have someone playing at home when the other is playing away), maybe one big hitter in defence, a couple heavy hitters in midfield with another rotation two (like in defence), and a couple of big strikers combined with a cheaper alternative. Thats my strategy atleast, take this advice if you want:) GL!

    Sorry, missed the bit about the wildcard - yeah, I'd definitely do it. N.B. The fixtures really go very good in a couple of weeks for Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs. And stay good for Man Utd. And go horrible for Everton and Newcastle.

    yeah you need to WC that I reckon. Too much baggage - A Cole. Colocinni, all your strikers and unfortunately your keepers. probably will be difficult will so little in the bank. I suggest you double up on Westham and Stoke in Defense

  Midfield looks fine. It is the strikers you need to address. Trouble is you'll struggle to get RVP with his cost. But I'd lose Torres. Suarez is probably your best bet (even though I have an aversion to him too).

  Also, you need to have players that are starters for their teams. Players like Lukaku are just too uncertain, imo. Also look at the next 2-3 fixtures before you transfer someone in. Looking forward is always helpful, although not too much ahead. You can also check out the watchlist here for tips:)

  I think you've found the answer CFCT.
  
  Fantasy football has no team, only the players you put in. It can be very hard for dedicated club fans such as yourself.
  Use your wildcard before ALL your value is gone, and lose your club feelings when playing FF
  
  You're lucky there are plenty of Chelsea players you can choose who are scoring well in FF but Torres and Lukaku aren't two of them.

  Lastly, the thing you want from your cheap midfielders/defenders are the odd chance of a goal or an assist. Idk how much footie you watch, but look for wingbacks that cross alot, or big centre halves that get forward on set pieces for defenders, and midfielders that are on set pieces are always nice.

  Keep most of your midfield, get rid of everyone else. Defence- get in Cuellar, Mignolet and a Stoke cheapie. Up front get Suarez and 2 of Ba/Tevez/Giroud/Berbatov/Fletcher. Maybe get Silva in mid if you don't get Tevez as a striker?

      really? but FPL is about picking the right player who's on form and having fixtures that are favourable to hit the form. right now, silva is totally irresistible, michu is getting indispensable, and cazorla.. what i can say, i totally regret getting rid of him. bale has left my team and since rejoined, has not impressed much.

        my worst transfer so far for this season are bale -> hazard in gw 4 and santi -> mata in gw 10..i'm still not convinced with silva though, thought that if you have already own tevez that would be enough for the time being

        i did bale > hazard in GW4 too, like most people. now bale's back but i'm not totally convinced. my second worst transfer was tevez > lambert in GW6 to free up some cash, and what lambert did for me in 5 weeks are a lot of 2s and a 1-pointer. now i can't believe that i have no arsenal or City player.

  not sure yet..initial plan is to play maloney and bench sterling this week..with fellaini suspended, i will have to play both of them together with michu and mata..tempted to ship him out for adam johnson, but think that fletcher would be a better bet to cover for sunderland

  If I was in your place, I'd have gotten rid of Barfa already, now that you've carried him till now, just gove him one more game against Soton? And there were talks about Pardew switching back to the 4-3-3 formation, which would only help him.

    Depends, wildrover. Some of us have really low team values and so Baines kills our balance in the rest of the team, especially if you have RVP as well.
    
    I sold Baines this week because there was no way I could afford Suarez otherwise and I think having Olsson and Suarez will serve me better than Baines and Crouch.
    
    In an ideal world I'd keep Baines but when you only have a team value of £100.6m to play with you have no choice but to make sacrifices somewhere, I'm afraid.dh

I want to bring Cuellar in but I had him before for many game weeks and got pretty much nothing from him. Hardly a clean sheet and zero attacking return or bp's.

I dunno….

I think I need a reason here or a push.

Thoughts would be appreciated on Cuellar going forward here.

  I think he is great value for 4.5m defender.
  
  Not just for immediate fixtures and a DGW but should be a keeper since Sunderland have a decent defence. Wouldn't be expecting too many attacking returns or BPs though.
