A perfect set-piece routine that had Gary Neville purring set the Potters on their way, only for West Ham to find an unlikely source for their equaliser. Here’s the Stock Check following tonight’s muscular affair at Upton Park…

On the Up

Joey O’Brien
The former Bolton man struck his first Premier League goal to bring the Hammers back on terms as Big Sam’s men rallied for the second period. O’Brien once again lined up at right-back, leaving a fit-again Guy Demel stranded on the bench. The 4.0 prospect has started the last three league outings, earned an assist in Gameweek 11 and is now ranked second amongst West Ham’s defenders in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. With bonus to follow, O’Brien is set to earn new suitors, although West Ham’s short-term fixtures remain a concern.

Jon Walters
A superbly worked goal reminded us of the quality that Walters has in his game but this was only his second strike of the season. Even as a 6.3 midfielder in the FPL, pushed up alongside Peter Crouch in attack, he’s been overshadowed by a gang of similar mid-price talent this term, not least Kevin Nolan in opposition tonight.

Going Down

Guy Demel and James Collins
Both have returned to fitness but have been kept on the bench for two consecutive matches by the Hammers. It seems that Collins faces a fight to earn a recall alongside Winston Reid as James Tomkins stakes his claim for regular starts. As for Demel, his prospects took a bigger dent has Joey O’Brien impressed again in the right-back berth.

Mark Noble
The booking tonight took him to four for the season, lifting him onto Anorak’s “Suspension Tightrope” and leaving him just one yellow from a one-match ban. Noble is owned by over 5% of the FPL player base.

Andy Wilkinson
The make-shift left-back limped off after 32 minutes after picking up an injury and will now presumably be an early doubt for the home clash with Fulham.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any suggestions on my team please. i have 2 FT for this gameweek.

    Jussi – Bego
    Riise – Demel – Rafeal – Clyne – Wilson
Fellaini – Michu – Nolan – Ben Arfa – Cazorla
    Berbatov – RVP – Tevez

I’m thinking about taking a hit and bringing 3 player today. weed out some off the under-achievers.

thinking about bring silva or sterling for ben arfa. need to get rid some defenders to is what im also thinking..

Anyone else have the problem of not knowing what to do about game week 16? I really don't want to get rid of players to try and capitalist on a player just because he's got a dgw. Being reading and sunderland my current team might get more points even with the dgw

As it stands I think it's probably worth bringing in a Sunderland defender and keep an eye on Adam Johnson. Be prepared to bench them week 17 though.

Should I do Kaca to Puncheon for a FT or should I save it?

Kaca is out for 3 weeks and Richardson should be back by then. Puncheon looks nailed on atm, playing two 90m games in a row and the goal+assist should help.

Also, I have Fellaini which means I'll have to play McCartney (tot) or Nelsen (mun) if I don't do the transfer.

Why do you think of updating Kaca to Puncheon? Why not Sterling? Sterling is a better option considering his playing position.
Playing Nelson would be tough for you. Why not a 4 point hit?

Sterling is up to 5.4m, and while I have the cash (2.2m) and I know that he is great value, I don't think I'll be playing my 5th mid all too often.

Don't want to spend more than 5.0 on a player who will rarely hit the park for me

Don't worry about your rival's team at this point in the season. Pick the players you think will score highest. O'Brien has minging fixtures so you'd better have a decent defence around him. Berbs is proably the best value striker in the game so whilst I agree that getting Suarez is a good idea, I'd find another way.

Tricky one as you have all the bases covered and no obvious under performing player. I'd give thought to the DGW and consider who you'd like (if anyone!) from Sunderland and Reading. While the team looks great on paper, a 'worse' player such as Lambert over Berbatov, may score more points in the next 4 (Southampton's have 3 home games in the next 4).

There's no knowing whether it would bite you on the bum, however.

    Morning fellas,

Was 0.1m away from doing this last night... until Rooney's price drop, that is! Is this a no brainer considering Fellaini is out this week, and potentially Michu soon afterwards? Am quite excited! 😀

    Taarabt + RVP --> Walcott + Rooney

    Giving:

    Bego (Foster)
    Sagna Saylor Baines (Davies, Nelson)
    Walcott Michu Silva Mata (Fellaini)
    Rooney Ba Berbatov

Am going to the Villa - Arsenal game this weekend, hence the Walcott pick this week and not next (-4 pts). Captain is likely to be Rooney. What do you think? 🙂

Why do people play this game with so much fear? It's a game! Plus, while RVP leads the line, Rooney plays in behind, sees more of the ball, shares set pieces and is on pens. He's the equivalent of Tevez but with pens and no-one is screaming for people to get Aguero instead.

Should Rooney score less than RVP then assists are worth 1 pt less, and the price difference allows someone like Taarabt to become Walcott (with 1.6m in the bank).

i can see many players are considered as "season keepers" .. RVP, suarez, berba, tevez, aguero.. midfield position is no different, as you have mata, hazard, bale, cazorla, silva, michu, fellaini, sterling (for his value), nolan among those mentioned.

i know we can't have them all, so my question is.. how do you set a dream yet logical (money-wise) front 8 that has the most "keepers" from different teams that you would deem as essential?

    mine would be:-

    bale mata santi michu nolan
    RVP suarez tevez

    or

    bale mata walcott silva fellaini
    RVP suarez berba

No Michu, definitely. I aint sure how Fellani going to keep up too. RVP, Suarez and Berba for front three.. Tevez may be a rotation risk (You never know about Mancini!)

Ha, Michu for me. It's inevitable with a strong squad. Have to brush it off and move on!

I have trouble logging in too, and it's been going on for months. It essentially just refreshes the page when I click login. What I do is sign in, and then type in the address again and it takes me to the my team.

      See if that works.

What's the situation with Walcott? Is he going to be a starter or a rotation risk still?

He is a starter. He is one of their best attackers at the moment and his presence has caused an upturn in Arsenals attack.

What a crap 1-1 score that was last night

26 points on the bench including Walters & Cuellar.

Lost my FFS Cup round on a single bonus point, we were 59-59 until he a single bonus point for Huth.

Demel came on for 1 point when Cuellar was waiting on the bench.

    CRAP CRAP CRAP 🙁

I’m not really sure how the price drops works, if I was to take out Fellaini now for a week and then put him back in is it likely his price will drop much? He’s only gone up .1 since I got him. Or should I just bench him?

Fellaini needs over 30,000 transfers out for his price to drop £0.1, this is because so many transferred him in last week.

Got 2 FT's and 0.3 in the bank but Thinking of just doin a boring Demel to Jones (Sunderland are crap attackin).. leaves me with
    Mignolet (Federici)
    Cameron Saylor Jones (Clyne Gorkks)
    Bale Cazorla Mata Pienaar (Sterling)
    Rvp Tevez Ba

    Yay or Nay?

I have 2 freebies and assuming i go with Krul > Mignolet ill be left with

    Mignolet (Mccarthy)
    Rafael, Cuellar, Cameron (Hughes, Clyne)
    Bale, Ramirez, Michu, Maloney (Sterling)
    RVP, Rooney, Aguero

Would you save the other transfer so i have 2 freebies again next week?

Ramirez is the main weak link imo but saints fans have said to keep for now

see how the next 2 go, rooney to suarez or berbatov gwk15/16 is an option. if him and rvp form a good partnership i may just hold until january

this is why i want to keep rolling 2 freebies over so when i downgrade rooney i can upgrade the midfield
