Just as Paddy drew level, our treble came in. A goal for Luis Suarez, coupled with an assist for David Silva and a City clean sheet in the win over Villa handed us another timely windfall and put us back in the black. Our bookmaker friends in retreat, we missed out on the Flutter last weekend but it returns for the midweek menu, with Paddy looking to prise back our winnings…

First up for Wednesday’s matches, we look to a name that’s been circulating the community for the last 48-hours: Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez. He’s on many a wishlist following a goal and assist return against Newcastle, and we’re willing to back his form with a few quid. Paddy are dangling 15/2 on another Ramirez goal against Norwich, packaged with a second consecutive Southampton cleanie. Ramirez is in fashion and even the Saints back four are playing with some confidence. We’ll take Paddy’s offer for £2 of our tenner.

Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon is another name garnering attention following the weekend events. A potential template breaker in midfield, Sessegnon is showing glimpses of last season’s form just in time for the Black Cats’ double fixture in Gameweek 16. After a goal and assist return in the damaging defeat to West Brom, can Sessegnon find the net when Harry’s boys visit the North-East? Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Sessegnon goal with a Sunderland shut-out against QPR. Again, we’ll chuck a couple of quid at this, with Sessegnon there or thereabouts for the Picks for the Gameweek.

Villa’s Christian Benteke is another player we’ve got a lot of time for: he’s proved integral to Villa’s threat in recent weeks and is certain to trouble Reading’s faltering back line tomorrow evening. Paul Lambert’s side are far from prolific, but we fancy them to break the shackles against the Royals and, with Paddy offering 4/1 on a Benteke goal with a Villa clean sheet, we’ll take that for £3 of our hard earned.

That leaves a handsome £3 left for the treble – having won out on this the last time around, we’re going into this one with confidence. Paddy have 10/1 on a Robin Van Persie goal against West Ham, a Juan Mata assist when Chelsea face Fulham and a Stoke clean sheet against the wounded Magpies.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Sessegnon took them the season before I've just noticed. So it's a possibility. Last year we only got 2 pens and Bendtner took one against Newcastle and Larsson the other (and missed)

You're right though. Sess was on pens the season before last.

Morning all, good reading as always...

Just binned Nolan for Punchy as a result... 🙂

Im going round in circles regarding Cuellar vs Clyne. Who to start alongside Baines and Raf this weekend... Sun look awful at the back atm, not sure I really fancy a cleanie even against QPR especially with the Appy Arry factor, even tho I only signed Cuellar at the weekend with a view to playing him for the next two. (facepalm)
Im edging towards Clyne after having him and his much needed points on my bench for the last 2 weeks.

    Quick Poll?

    Clyne or Cuellar?

He's cheap, will get the odd goal, he's nailed-on. With United's recent shite defensive record they definitely need a defensive midfielder and Fergiue likes him. No lack of games before when he was fit.

Some similarities with Torres moves to a club with massive expectations. Previous club, less expectations, built around him as number ones goalscorer. New club's defence now leaking more goals than usual, strikers goals more important can't rely on defence to choke out a 1-0 lead. Pressure, pressure, real pressure.

Yep, the difference is RVP is really at the peak of his career. Torres has been getting worse for years. Problem I see is Man Utd don't rely enough on RVP...like Arsenal did. So he isn't getting a massive lion's share of the goals. Which made him so essential last year.

Moving to a club with weaker defence than usual means more pressure on strikers. Van Persie likely to start banging in the goals this week or next but way more pressure at United, CL or PL winners is expected, than at Arsenal, qualifying for CL is all they want. Torres looks like he'll never regain his great form but Van Persie had one great PL season. Torres was PL top striker for 3 or 4 seasons in an average Liverpool team compared to an attack-minded and often brilliant Arsenal team and Torres has 2 Euro Nations, World Cup and Champions League to his name. Van Persie has nothing, has to prove he can do it under pressure.

I completely disagree. I think from a technical point of view RVP is far away a better player. I'm not even bothering explaining why. Torres played for a Liverpool squad that had been European Champions 2 seasons before, at the time of his signing. Torres was never won PL Golden Boot so I doubt that he was top striker for 3 or 4 seasons, 1 or 2 maybe. Torres achievements with National side are almost irrelevant when you play with the best midfield that country has ever assembled and one of the best all time teams, so I think even Hesky would risk being World and European champion.

Really stuck on if I should use my FT this week or save it.
Thoughts would be appreciated, here is my current squad 2.2M in the bank

    Bego (Foster)
    Baines ShawX Cuellar (Gorkss Davies)
    Mata Bale Fellani Michu (Guthrie)
    RVP Ba Berbatov

I have 2 options I am mulling over:
    1) save FT and have 2 next week for Baines>Garrido & Michu > Silva (that leaves me with enough to do Ba > Suarez the week after if required)
    2) do Ba > Tevez this week for free and then Baines>Garrido & Michu > Silva for a -4 hit

    Which option is best?

      BA >> fletch.

Here is my logic, newcastle have stoke (a), wigan (h), fulham (a), city then utd....so tough games...although ba can score against anyone, higher probabality of him not scoring.

You could ba >>> tevez....but he is rotation risk, suarez is on 4 yellows so best to wait till his suspension is over, giroud is an option....not many other strikers on form

Cheers for the reply. I reckon I will save and see if Fletch does OK this week.
I had him from the start of his scoring run in the earlier weeks and luckily traded him out when we fired those blanks in a row!

Really hope this gw can stop my fantasy slide:(

    Begovic
    baines rafael cueller
    michu cazorla fellaini sterling (nasri)
    rvp berba fletcher

have 1FT and have 1.8m in the bank. So here is what i was thinking:
    A: nasri >>> bale/silva....and then bench sterling
B: my starting 11 is fine and i carry over the FT...to do nasri + berba >> xxx + tevez/suarez
    C: nasri + berba >>> lallana + suarez/augero

Any other ways to improve this team?

Pienaar to Puncheon.. Saving the second so that next week i can do either Tevez to Aguero/Tevez to Suarez/Ba to Suarez dependin on this weeks circumstances.. On the other hand i could just do Tevez to Suarez right now.. What did you do?

          Nothing yet.

Was set on one of Ba/Berbatov to Fletcher. Put that off last night when there was talk of a possible Sun postponement. It's cost me 0.2m already, but not worth the risk.

I have 2 FT, like you I will do 1 and save the other in order to get Suarez in next week if not susp. Bif Q next week is who to sell...Baines or Felli.

I get him in he gets a yellow and misses the Soton game.. If i dont get him in this week and he gets teh yellow i can keep Ba one more week for Wigan @ home. Course it could all go tits up and i might end up with Suarez Mata Clyne and Puncheon not playin GW 17

    Thoughts on this:

    Bego, Tremmel
    Baines, Gallas(?), Saylor(!), Hughes, Demel(!)
    Hazard, Bale, Fellaini, Sterling, McAnuff
    RVP, Jelavic, Fletcher

    1FT, 1.3 banked

    A) This week Saylor >Cuellar, next week Baines+Jelly > Enrique/Wisdom+Suarez
    B) This week save, next week Baines+Haz+Jelly > Enrique+Silva/Santi+Suarez

Whats my priority here, get Cuellar or wait until DGW to get him?
