We’re now down to the final 32 as we roll out the sixth round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. The fixtures take place over the upcoming Gameweek 17 and we have four of the top 1,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers still in with a shout of the silverware.

World number three Iyad Zahlan remains our leading contender – he’s up against El Pieman, who sits in 1,178th position. Elsewhere, JMS, who is currently 203rd overall, MileHigh – in 437th position – and HongKong TractorBoys, who has moved up to 567th spot, are the three other big scalps on the line this weekend.

Enrique been Livs best player recently

Enrique was good as he was playing up front which now looks over - plus he is probably out this week.

GJ is back on RB and is knocking them in again - maybe he will do more than 3 this season?

do you have money to upgrade? seems you can field at least 3 starters from that bunch so why bother. you need a clean sheet or goal to make it work out and that looks a to be a huge role of the dice this week.

Think he'll start against Sunderland, but anything can happen there. Hopefully he is proper fit now, but he had an INCREDIBLY serious injury. May never get back to where he was 🙁

If he is proper fit now, he'll probably start to play every game, but SAF may take it a little easy in the beginning, especially now with the heavy xmas programme coming up.

He, there you go putting my mind in doubt again 😀

Heard he was mainly a CB though, so thought he was basically out now unless they get injuries there. Would be typical to sell him and then he's back in the team though. He played something like 10 straight matches, then I buy him and he has 0 minutes since :/

Downing has been chosen according to bib theory. And in my mind that makes sense. With Lucas back Rogers no longer relies on his full backs to cover for the centre backs defensively, and actively demands that they are highly aggressive and attacking. Wisdom doesnt fit that bill, and Downing does.

          That theory makes sense.

Already set on getting gj. Probably no accident he scored his goal last weekend.

Plus, Lucas should improve cs potential still further.

Not entirely sure what to make of Joe Cole at LF. Could he really rise like a phoenix?

Ah. F it. I'll wait another day and see, but with the intent of a hit for Wisdom > Hughes. Stoke's fixtures look too scary the next 6-ish GWs.

Think I'll look for Cazorla > Mata next week, unless Cazorla has a killer game again. Mata has been too hot so far, and I want in on that now when his price isn't too wacky.

So many dud transfers though 🙁

Fabio - non-stop injured, and now a sub
Walcott - injured without playing a game for me
Demel - injured right after I brought him in, now possibly injured again
Wisdom - lost his place after playing non-stop, just after I bought him. WTF?
Pienaar - did next to nothing when I had him (10-ish weeks), while Fellaini killed everything before him
Ba - scored a pile of goals after I sold him
Krul - injured early on and Newcastle's been pants all season

      Probably more as well.

Thank goodness I got RVP at 13.0 and Michu at 6.6 though!

    Foster(if fit)
    Baines Cameron Enrique*
    Fellaini Michu Cazorla Sterling*
    RVP Suarez Fletcher

    Begovic Nelsen Pienaar Cuellar

What to do if both are out (which looks to be the case) ?

Nelsen is a decent backup for Enrique, but not keen on tripling up on Everton away to the tightest defense in the league.

Alreet lads. With puncheon out, and doubts over enrique and sterling, i want to get rid of sessegnon to avoid either him coming off the bench at old trafford, or santon against city. Still hoping that bale gets declared fit, but if not, who should I go for? Could potentially just be a stop gap until bale is fit, as not too many other transfers that I need to do. Silva?

We shouldn't have bottled the no RVP strategy. I swapped Bale + Defoe for Maloney + RVP, just before the spurs pair went mental with the scoring! Things could have been so much better!

Ha. They are the other two that I have considered!! I love man utds fixtures, and would love to get an attacking mid, IF he was nailed on to play 4/5 games. Not sure that even valencia is. Is snodgrass an option when comparing to silva? As I wouldn't be able to use the money saved as he would be keeping bale's place warm

I'm not sold on Silva this year...and I guage that by having absolutely no trepidation without him in my squad week to week...and the fact that I think City are treading water up the top o the table this year with a couple of assy results the only thing between them and about 6th place

I keep expecting man utd to tighten up. Maybe they will now vidic is back. Sunderland have a terrible run of fixtures, so I would want rid anyway. Can you think of any other moves for me to try and make my rank more respectable? Bale will come in when fit.

Mrs China Mag got Giroud in for a punt last week. Now thinking of getting in defoe or suarez (for a hit instead). Of course I have now abandoned any idea of having different players on the two teams. If I go for suarez, should I take a hit to get him for villa (H), or play giroud (rdg) and get Suarez next week.

What are your moves for this week?

I have suarez ba and rvp and resisted the defoe trade so far (ade anyone?)
plus I have bale and enrique
with two frees I have to make one transfer which was going to be bale for someone like valencia or snod for this gw only then to mata next week but I think I'll just dump cuellar for a 4-5 mil def but I can't think who...missed the bassong train this week unfortunately

He played 90 last week I thinkand with bale out (maybe) Ade takes penos (actually he took penos all last year with bale on the pitch)
It's a punt I know (and one I'm not taking -disclaimer-) but he played against Arsenal, got a three match ban and then played 90 first week back. Ba to Ade next week for me...I just convinced myself

My team is in my link. Then you can check Mrs China Mag by checking out the top of my mini leagues!!

I still think that my team is stronger than hers, and has been all the way through, but somehow she is 250,000 places higher!

If I keep sess this week, I save a transfer, BUT he will almost certainly have to play and get a 2 pointer!

Mrs China Mag shipped Ba, if that helps. Our fixtures are TERRIBLE, and our form is even worse! He has done amazingly to score as many as he has, with the little that we have created, but doubt he can keep it up. Added to that, he seems to be carrying a knock or two, and his head isn't right, so I expect him to sit out of 1-2 games over christmas

So basically everyone seems to be a doubt or having a blank and most of us are struggling to field eleven.

Before these injuries hit I was mentioning the possibility of four at the back until the January wc with great fixtures for the liv, ars, mun, and pretty decent for mci and eve. There are also good attacking options available such as GJ, Sagna, Rafael, Baines and heck even Zab seems to be getting some joy.

This would be ultimately funded by having Sterling and/or puncheon .

Given Sterling could well be out and puncheon definitely is, why not get to 11 by bringing 1 or 2 of the defenders I mentioned and play 4-3-3/4-4-2.

Enrique shouldn't be out too long, reports said 1 week was too soon that's all.

So you looking to field 4 at the back most weeks?

Good morning/ night everyone. Question - What do you think is the most overused piece of nonsense on FFS?

    One of my favs:

"Don't take a hit, you would need a goal next week to make up the 4 points"

NOOOO.... what about if player B gets 5+ more points than player A in the next 6 weeks. You've also made your points back there. Short term thinking is our enemy!

There's the argument that if you delayed the transfer it would be better. But that's a hindsight argument and so of no practical use. We have imperfect information and huge randomness in FPL points. We can never predict points on a single GW basis, so the ONLY way to do transfers profitably is on a multiple GW basis, holding on unless something drastic happens to change your punts prospects.

Exactly - delaying transfers is silly if youre fairly sure they would be profitable anyway. Most people don't get to a point where they have 2 free transfers and no ideas of what to do. Taking a hit basically ensures that next week we can use our free transfer for something else more useful. And then we have these injuries which mean a delayed transfer never happens.

I use the same criteria for every transfer, hit or not. My question is, over the next 6+weeks (4 if it is a captain option) how confident am I that this player will get at least 4 more points? (Be it because of form, fixtures or a combination of both)

If I'm very confident, I do the transfer. As far as I'm concerned a 'free' transfer is still a 4 point hit anyway because it stops us having 2 free transfers next week. If youre a player who will sometimes take hits - transfers are all of the same cost anyway!

        (Hope that makes sense)

Bardsley > GJ pretty much for sure and either Evans > Rafa or Lambert > Berba possibly for a hit. Depends if evans is out. Also really tempting to do Sterling > Bale/Silva but that would kill my 4 def plan.
