The Gameweek is brought to a close by one of the most memorable Fantasy hauls of this or any season, as Santi Cazorla orchestrates a mauling of Reading in front of their own fans. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s events at the Madjeski…

On the Up

Santi Cazorla
An incredible display by the Spaniard who, perhaps for one night only, turned his superb performance statistics into staggering returns. Our members will know all too well just how impressive Cazorla has been in terms of numbers and tonight he delivered on that promise with a midfield hat-trick haul that has surely cemented his place amongst the true heavy-hitters. Reading were woeful but Carzola punished them without mercy.

Theo Walcott
The night could have belonged to winger turned striker but, in the end, Walcott played second fiddle to the sparkling Santi. Regardless, Walcott’s move to the central striker role gave Arsenal menace up front and Theo came out with a goal to his name and facing the prospect of leading the line at Wigan at the weekend. There’s no way Cazorla owners will be making the switch just now but could their be a case for finding room for both of Wenger’s midfield assets in the short-term? We need to see this new look Arsenal against opposition less obliging than Brian McDermott’s side.

Kieran Gibbs
Arsenal conceded again but, with superior possession in matches, will inevitably keep clean sheets over the second half the season and Gibbs, as demonstrated tonight, can supplement this potential with attacking returns. More expensive that Bacary Sagna on the right, but perhaps more secure given that Thomas Vermaelen would seem set to remain at centre-back, Gibbs will earn new suitors off the back of tonight’s returns.

Lukas Podolksi
Quietly and efficiently, the German has shifted onto five goals and five assists for the season after tonight’s showing. Whilst the attention and investment will go the way of Arsenal’s midfield talent, Podolski deserves some praise for having seemingly adapted well to the Premier League stage and a role primarily out on the Gunners flank.

Going Down

Olivier Giroud
Relegated to the bench tonight, it seems unlikely that he’ll earn an immediate recall at Wigan and could now spend some time as a spectator whilst Arsenal drag themselves back into form and top four contention. Giroud has stalled again as a Premier League prospect and Fantasy asset in a less than convincing opening to his career in England.

The Reading Defence
It’s hard to sum up just how porous the Royals’ back four appeared at times. They have now conceded 13 goals in the last four league outings and it’s almost as easy as backing their opponents for three or four strikes every week. Reading go to City at the weekend, with Fantasy managers now desperately attempting to crowbar a secure City asset into their squad; easier said than done.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Do we reckon Silva (c) will be sufficient Citeh cover this week?

    Considering Fellaini & Fletcher -> Puncheon & Tevez (-4)

I wouldn't get too caught up on this City coverage idea - it's not worth taking points hits to get them in, that's throwing away an entire striker goal this week for players under serious rotation threat the next.

While other teams aren't as likely to do well, there are individual players who are just as likely to do well this week at other clubs, thinking in particular of Bale and Suarez.

    JussiJ.
    Rafael, Cameron, Clyne.
    Bale, Silva(vc), Michu, Puncheon.
    RVP(c), Berbatov, Suarez.

    Subs: Mignolet; Davies, Shorey, Fellaini.

I was driving home earlier after watching Reading's dismal performance debating in my head whether to go for Silva and Tevez or Yaya and Kun and then..

    BAM!!!

It hit me, why not go for Tevez and Kun?!?

It would involve an 8 point hit, but I reckon they'd make that back and with Balotelli out of the picture they should see good gametime, especially since they are 6 points behind.

So here's what I'm asking, thoughts on Fellaini, Suarez and Berb to Puncheon, Tevez and Kun?

Agreed Reading are shambolic at defending, but I don't want to break up my front 3 of:
    Suarez RVP Rooney

Will Silva and Nastasic be enough cover?

Definitely, Taarabt's underlying stats suggests he should have had much more points than he currently he has. He's one of the top ranked midfielders for shots taken (last game he had 8 shots), albeit quite a lot are from outside the box.

No, not imo. A midfielder and forward from one of the best teams in the league? Seems pretty standard to me

No City or Chelsea coverage. Pick one Spaniard...

Chelsea have Villa at home. Not worth rotating trades for one fixture.
I also have other plans for transfers.
        So which Juan?

Don't really like any of them really. Probably just B as City have Reading next

    Guys already have :

    RVP,Tevez,Suarez,Santi,Michu...

I have to say goodbye to Fellaini and get some TOT or CHE cover for the next few gameweeks...I can't get both - Bale and Mata so I must pick one of them...because main rivals in my ML have Mata so I decided to get him...but if I want to do this I must sell Baines and Fellaini...I thought:

Baines -> Walker or any other def for max 6.1 m
    Fellaini -> Mata

How does it look?Any suggestions very welcome..Thanks in advance

Baines -> Gibbs, arsenal have better defence than spurs and gibbs is more likely to get attacking returns

So I take my first 4 point hit in what seems like forever and it was Defoe in for Fletcher. Never again.
