The Gameweek is brought to a close by one of the most memorable Fantasy hauls of this or any season, as Santi Cazorla orchestrates a mauling of Reading in front of their own fans. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s events at the Madjeski…

On the Up

Santi Cazorla
An incredible display by the Spaniard who, perhaps for one night only, turned his superb performance statistics into staggering returns. Our members will know all too well just how impressive Cazorla has been in terms of numbers and tonight he delivered on that promise with a midfield hat-trick haul that has surely cemented his place amongst the true heavy-hitters. Reading were woeful but Carzola punished them without mercy.

Theo Walcott
The night could have belonged to winger turned striker but, in the end, Walcott played second fiddle to the sparkling Santi. Regardless, Walcott’s move to the central striker role gave Arsenal menace up front and Theo came out with a goal to his name and facing the prospect of leading the line at Wigan at the weekend. There’s no way Cazorla owners will be making the switch just now but could their be a case for finding room for both of Wenger’s midfield assets in the short-term? We need to see this new look Arsenal against opposition less obliging than Brian McDermott’s side.

Kieran Gibbs
Arsenal conceded again but, with superior possession in matches, will inevitably keep clean sheets over the second half the season and Gibbs, as demonstrated tonight, can supplement this potential with attacking returns. More expensive that Bacary Sagna on the right, but perhaps more secure given that Thomas Vermaelen would seem set to remain at centre-back, Gibbs will earn new suitors off the back of tonight’s returns.

Lukas Podolksi
Quietly and efficiently, the German has shifted onto five goals and five assists for the season after tonight’s showing. Whilst the attention and investment will go the way of Arsenal’s midfield talent, Podolski deserves some praise for having seemingly adapted well to the Premier League stage and a role primarily out on the Gunners flank.

Going Down

Olivier Giroud
Relegated to the bench tonight, it seems unlikely that he’ll earn an immediate recall at Wigan and could now spend some time as a spectator whilst Arsenal drag themselves back into form and top four contention. Giroud has stalled again as a Premier League prospect and Fantasy asset in a less than convincing opening to his career in England.

The Reading Defence
It’s hard to sum up just how porous the Royals’ back four appeared at times. They have now conceded 13 goals in the last four league outings and it’s almost as easy as backing their opponents for three or four strikes every week. Reading go to City at the weekend, with Fantasy managers now desperately attempting to crowbar a secure City asset into their squad; easier said than done.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Who should replace Felliani:

    A) Bale
    B) Silva
    C) Walcott
    D) Santi
    E) somebody else

    Rest of front seven are:

    Michu Mata Sterling Punchy ?????

It's a tough crowd to choose from without captain hindsight giving you guidance.

(Ignoring lastnights Santi show) I think A) & C) give that explosive potential but not much consistency, and B) & D) are consistent assist merchants in decent teams with decent fixtures

+1 Wenger seems very slow to see these things, watching training must make things very confusing for him... Consistently playing players out of their best position. Tonight everyone was in their best positions and look at the results... Miffed.

It was simply spectacular tonight how Arsenal attacked. They need to utilise Cazorla like this more often. It was frightening how well he played! He actually should have had about 3 more assists!

He has always been capable of it. Just never understood why he does not attack the box like he did tonight on a more regular basis. If he did, he would be much more valuable from a fantasy perspective. Do you reckon AW will give him more freedom?

I'd go 1st one. Tevez is still scoring plenty of points even with the rotation, could have scored a few against Newcastle too. And Mata is a beast who will still outscore Torres despite being rested once every three or four GWs

    3 Questions:
    1- Bench Sess or Punch?
    2- Play Bego or Bunn?
3- FUL fixtures from from GW19 onwards look very very appealing. Considering Ba --> Berba by then but Ba keeps scoring regardless of opposition. Also, anyone know when Ruiz is returning?

but having rvp, suarez and aguero really stretch the budget for midfield..only has mata as big hitter, other midfields are sterling, michu, fellaini and sandro..too much money in defense with g.johnson and baines, perhaps transfers to nelsen, demel or clark is not a bad shout

If Reading have any sense they'll put 11 men behind the ball at all times. But saying that, Reading can't defend for sheeeet. Could be 6-1, but could be a drab, 30+ chances 1-0 to Citeh.

Alright, DeadZoners, I've done it. Fellaini out, Yaya in. Stupid? Thoughts?

    Pros:
    - Price changes
    - Couldn't afford Mata / Bale and did not want to take a hit
    - Yaya is rotation immune
    - Good fixtures
    - Good form
    - Could play CAM with Barry & Garcia in the squad
    - Happy to get 'Fro off my team

    Cons:
    - Could play deeper
    - Doesn't usually score against bad teams
    - Could also have Fletcher out (injury) and Sterling (rest) this weekend

I don't really like him, FPL-wise, no ... but your points aren't wrong. He's likely to play in a good team capable of scoring loads of goals against a team who evidently drinks jagermeister before their games.

I still think Tevez over Kun and Silva over Yaya ... but I understand the no-hit Fellaini to Yaya until another MF stands out. Good luck with him.

    Enrique > Baker
    Fallani > Silva 4pt hit

    Bego Jass
    Demel Clyne Davis Shorey:( Baker
    Michu Theo Santi Punch Silva
    RVP Roo Suarez

Back line is gonna be pants, relying on assists mainly, not much CS potential and shocking fixtures for the next few.... So straw poll, go for Silva or go else where, Taarabt or Yaya an have a slightly better defender? Thoughts?

I wouldn't be taking Enrique for a hit. Not with his fixtures and form. He almost made last weekend's game so chances are he will be fit.

Maybe just Fellaini >> Yaya? You can't afford Mata or Bale, I presume?
