With Gameweek 17 done and dusted, we’re down to the last 16 in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. Before we roll out the draw for the next round, we take a brief look at some of the previous weekend’s results. In one of two draws in the final 32, Tom Wilson scraped through against Jonathan Horrocks on rank alone after the pair battled out a 70-70 stalemate last time round. The same applies to Tim Wall, who drew 47-47 with David Jay but clinched a place in the next round thanks to his overall rank of 761.

Tim is one of four Fantasy managers in the top 1,000 who remain in with a chance of the silverware. John Scholl JMS sits in 40th in the rankings, Cameron Licciardi is in 512th spot and, last but by no means least, Iyad Zahlan has climbed back to world number one spot and remains the man to avoid.

We should have the fixtures for the next round with you by tomorrow.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is this a viable plan. Use my outstanding wildcard and a create a one week team taking into account the Arsenal DGW then use my January wildcard the week after to create the team I want from that point on. Or is it just a waste of wildcard?

Its an idea Ive had for a while but was hoping there would be some cancelled matches due to snow to make a bigger DGW sometime in January

Its not the greatest looking DGW so id not do that, just get some DGW players in and clean up with jan WC

Yeh I was hoping for more teams to be involved in one. I guess its only really a good ploy if at least four teams are involved

I think its a massive waste of a wildcard for one week, to be honest. You are better playing it now or in a couple of weeks and factoring in what you want to have by the DGW, that way you spread the benefit.

    c. Silva
    d. Cheap midfielders (less than 6m) in order to do Suarez>Aguero?

Yeah I know, I'm probably going to get rid and get back for the DGW if he looks like doing anything. This weeks his final chance for me I reckon.

I'd think about Puncheon (I have), Taarabt (but beward of the African Cup of Nations), Sterling, Snodgrass, Ramires...

if you're cash poor, you could do Fellony to Toure, and then back to Fellony on 2 Jan.

Owning two City players - the skinny. Make of it what you will.

      City pairing--------Average----Average (no absences)---Cost of absences----------Price
      Yaya & Silva----------8.1-----------9.1-----------------------------1.0----------------------------17.3
      Yaya & Tevez-------10.7----------11.1-----------------------------0.4---------------------------17.4
      Yaya & Aguero------7.9-----------8.6-----------------------------0.7----------------------------18.9
      Silva & Tevez---------9.4----------10.8----------------------------1.4----------------------------18.9
      Silva & Aguero--------6.5-----------8.2-----------------------------1.7----------------------------20.4
      Aguero & Tevez------9.2----------10.2----------------------------1.1----------------------------20.4

walcott is like michu imo, he doesn't need to be OOP. the right winger walcott was scoring seriously well too.

i'd argue walcott is better as a winger as he has giroud's head for crosses and corners

As that game has been called off, I have no keeper on boxing day.

Looking at the fixtures, there is no obvious keeper to get in for boxing day.

      Any suggestions?

you don't really need a keeper in the modern game, Ron. Just go commando at the back

      Begovic
      Rafael Enrique Rangel
      Puncheon Snodgrass Cazorla Bale
      Tevez RVP Berbatov

Subs - Jussi Sterling Cuellar Caulker

Only 1 FT, but i have Raf/Rang left out of squads last match, Enr/Bale doubts & Caulk out of favour.
Any advice on transfer(s) would be greatly appreciated - need to field 11
