With Gameweek 17 done and dusted, we’re down to the last 16 in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. Before we roll out the draw for the next round, we take a brief look at some of the previous weekend’s results. In one of two draws in the final 32, Tom Wilson scraped through against Jonathan Horrocks on rank alone after the pair battled out a 70-70 stalemate last time round. The same applies to Tim Wall, who drew 47-47 with David Jay but clinched a place in the next round thanks to his overall rank of 761.

Tim is one of four Fantasy managers in the top 1,000 who remain in with a chance of the silverware. John Scholl JMS sits in 40th in the rankings, Cameron Licciardi is in 512th spot and, last but by no means least, Iyad Zahlan has climbed back to world number one spot and remains the man to avoid.

We should have the fixtures for the next round with you by tomorrow.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That's an awful lot of players you'll have playing away two weeks in a row (gameweek 19 and 20). Captain RVP is safe, captain Tevez the gamble.

I have Tevez and Rooney and think I'm plumping for Rooney. It's very difficult this week. Was even thinking about Mata but Villa played so well last week I've kinda ruled him out too.

Bale + Charlie Adam = disaster waiting to happen

Also, Stoke is not the best team to return from injury in. He'll get battered by them. I think he'll be saved for Villa.

Bringing in bale this weekend but already have Defoe. Bad mistake to double up I think with Defoe so thinking of subbing out for berbs (already hav RvP and Tevez)

    a) is berbs a good option over Christmas
    b) should I keep both
    c) another striker

Do you think this team will survive without MCI cover?

    Bego (Trem)
    Gibbs Enrique Clyne (Cuellar Gorkss)
    Caz Walcott Michu Puncheon (Sess)
    RVP Defoe Suarez

    0FT, 3.0 in the bank

Tempted to do Defoe to Kun (c) for a -4 hit. Worth it?

PS: I need to take -8pt hits next GW if ARS-WHM game is cancelled πŸ™

If it's any help I think there are only 2 situations in which any sensible player would ever use a wildcard:

          a) Injuries to 7 or more players.
          b) preparing/recovering from a double gameweek.

These are clearly the times when you can improve your projected score by the most points.

    C: fellaini + sess >> silva + snodgrass for a hit
silva >> bale next week on the FT

Not too keen on C as silva is decent cover bt he is not explosive whereas tevez is..and since my long term aim is bale, gettin in silva seems futile. Just worried abt tevez gametime though
