Possibly the most un-Christmas-like Christmas Podcast we’ve ever recorded, thanks mainly to Granville being banned from editing in the entire MP3 of Dean Martin’s “Let it Snow” but also because neither of us had time to sort our pressies. To be fair, I’m surprised that Granville felt an ounce Christmas spirit after Santi’s showing at Reading opened up a 40-point “chasm” in our min-league. Do I have it all wrapped up already?

To his credit, my co-host takes it all on his bearded chin, joining me to discuss the Felliani fallout, its impact on the transfer trends in “all aboard”, a preview of the weekend fixtures and provided his assistance in the management of the ScoutCast team: an outfit which plundered no less than 80 points thanks to Santi’s haul and Reading’s bulging net.

Unitie the bow and rip this one open via this link, or stream the merriment via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Have already done Fellaini > Silva leaving me with
1 FT, 0.4m in the bank

Next week I will have McCartney, Noble and Carzola with a blank. Rafael is a rotation risk and who knows who else will be benched.

    Should I...
    a) Trade McCartney > Davies, Nelson
    b) Trade Nolan > Puncheon
    c) save transfer and decide next week

    Bunn
    Clyne – McCartney – Rafael
    Silva – Michu – Carzola – Sessegnon
    Suarez – Berbatov – RVP

Federici – Noble – Cuellar– Cameron

Only got £8.2m to spend on Fellaini replacement...what's best..go for a differential punt on Nasri/A.Young or go for Pienaar so I can afford to get Berbatov in for Lambert next week?

With no surefire, safe way into our attack, would anyone consider (seriously), doubling with Silva and Yaya?

Triple United coverage is gonna be essential after this week (in fact it may already be), and triple City coverage could be lethal too, but the question is just who?

I dont see a safe enticing way into our backline, and Hart isn't even a thought at HIS price.

Silva and Yaya is what I am looking at, and Yaya would be the 5th mid, not 4th 🙂

I might triple on either Manchester club, but at this time, only Silva would be considered from the two teams in MF.

People really are pushing Yaya here - and maybe he'll come good - but I think most of his good press comes from his price point and Fellaini's suspension.

I tripled City for this week, but it's admittedly a gamble.

I think it's all down to there being a 7.5m (or thereabouts) hole in people's midfield and Yaya fit the bill perfectly as a replacement. Not many options that stick out at that price. It's one of those moves where it's neither great nor is it particularly bad. My only criticism of it is it lacks a little ambition and imagination. But who am I to say Yaya won't score 3 in the next 3!

Another thing... I think most are using it as stopgap whereas personally I'm seeing it as an opportunity to change strategy a bit. Lumping a DM in there for 3 weeks wasn't my cup of tea. 🙂

When it comes to defense, I plan on getting a Clichy/Shorey combo, with Shorey first defensive sub if Clichy doesn't start.

I actually quite like that. Kolarov (if fit), is more of a 15min cameo risk than Clichy. Clichy usually either plays 90 or doesnt at all. You'd be best gambling with Clichy, and getting his 6pts when possible than a gamble on Kolarov at this point i would say.

I have Shorey, and if our defence can tighten up and Rafael and/or Enrique miss any more time and/or under perform then I get on the Nasty or Clichy bus possibly.

Im still thinking the 5 cheapo defender route to be perfectly honest though. January wildcard cant come soon enough. I have 2/3 weeks to make AS MUCH money as poss.

Of course there is a chance ... not much, but a chance. I know of several players (myself included) facing recently created teams with a manager from Indonesia. Their ranks are all 2,450,000+, all created in the last 2-6 weeks, and it's like playing a current WC team. My guess is that these are multiple teams created specifically for the cup.

I'm a member of the 'always captain RVP' club ... but I think that if there is one week to go off that, it might be this one. Not because Tevez is nailed on or 'due' a big score, but because the other RVP owners might be doing the same/similar, so it mightn't hurt me too much if I do.

          If that makes sense ...

Thinking to capt Van Persie myself

    Have Van Persie
    Aguero
    Suarez

Reason considering Van Persie is can be 99% sure what you going to get , up front getting chances

Aguero, has to be a question mark , fairly sure he will play but where and for how long
Suarez , not the mos reliable character

Just cant decide , will wait until see the bookies odds

Imo, you cannot own Aguero this week and not captain him. I would understand it if RVP was at home to a weak team, but the possible reward is too huge in favour of Kun, imo.

I see my theory might suggest the same for him 😆 I just think this game is too big an oppurtunity to turn down when it comes to taking the risk on captaining the forward you own from Citeh

Hi all have been lurking around for a while but finally decided to register. Will link my team when I figure it out. But

I have tevez this week. Also have theo. Is it worth swapping him for silva for the next two and then getting him back for the double later on. I have a few more issues I could also fix like my boys at the back.

What are your thoughts? I didnt have any city coverage for the last match at villa and this is worrying me a lot.

+1, Wacott to Silva feels a bit sideways to me. Silva is, well Silva ... but Walcott might bang in a few to grease the contract wheels. 50/50 call that makes a transfer to dicey, for me. Either rebuild defense or save the trade to move Walcott out for the blank tube strike week.

    RVP vs Silva for (C)

@ 6.7% ownership in Silva is a differential in itself. Not giving the armband to RVP could hurt.

Ah, but Tevez is owned 40.4% to RVP's 38.3% 😯

So does that indicate Tevez (c) as the safer move?

Kun = 6.6%, btw. Another surprise.

If one had Tevez, the same argument could be made. Must (C) either RVP or Tevez if you have either over Silva.

No, no, no ... I have all three. I agree Silva is a fool's errand, but the Carlos v. Robin thing is doing my head in.

RVP feels safe, but Tevez feels like the potentially big haul - that many people will make captain, due to Reading's form.
