Possibly the most un-Christmas-like Christmas Podcast we’ve ever recorded, thanks mainly to Granville being banned from editing in the entire MP3 of Dean Martin’s “Let it Snow” but also because neither of us had time to sort our pressies. To be fair, I’m surprised that Granville felt an ounce Christmas spirit after Santi’s showing at Reading opened up a 40-point “chasm” in our min-league. Do I have it all wrapped up already?

To his credit, my co-host takes it all on his bearded chin, joining me to discuss the Felliani fallout, its impact on the transfer trends in “all aboard”, a preview of the weekend fixtures and provided his assistance in the management of the ScoutCast team: an outfit which plundered no less than 80 points thanks to Santi’s haul and Reading’s bulging net.

Unitie the bow and rip this one open via this link, or stream the merriment via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Evening!
How to get city cover for the weekend? Need to get rid of Fellaini. Cannot do a straight swap to Yaya, not too keen on it either. Team:

    Mignolet (Fed)

    Johnson, Huth, Clyne (Cuellar, Hughes)

    Michu, Santi, Maloney, Fellaini (Noble)

    RvP, Defoe, Suarez.

    Options I’m thinking of:

    1. Fellaini to Silva and downgrade Huth to a 3,8 (Stam? Really few options)
    2. Defoe to Aguero/Tevez and downgrade Fellaini to Puncheon. (Get Bale for Santi next week for Tottenham cover).

I think I will be selling Baines this week, but I am not sure who for. With the money from Baines I can afford basically any other defender, so I am considering Johnson and Vertonghen. Of those two which do you think is the best? Or if there is someone else I should get then let me know.

Silva's typically an assister and Suarez goes through patches of blanks (yes, I know, so does RVP, but you get my meaning). I'm also not sure that Reading will get the walloping many are predicting here.

I just had a bit of a "Eureka" moment...here I am dithering whether to bring in Aguero or Tevez and captain them at the weekend, worried they might be benched. But, in reality, there are three likely outcomes here...
    A. They start...happy days
    B. They are on the bench and don't come on...fine as long as you've got a safe VC (Suarez)
    C. They come on fresh with 25 minutes to go against a tired Reading defence....happy days!

Maybe not such a risk after all.

    Hey guys,

I'm facing a tough decision on whether I should take a hit or even two.
My defence doesn't look too good for this weekend with Smalling, Enrique, Nelsen (Clark, Cameron). Nelsen, Clark and Cameron are all likely to get 1 or 2 points and neither Smalling And Enrique are guaranteed to start.
In my midfield I got Fellaini who needs to go out pronto. Up front I got Giroud who's not likely to start or score and will not be playing in GW19.

    So i'm thinking...

    1. Get Pienaar or Morrison in for Fellaini

    2. Pienaar (or Morrison) and Torres in for Fellaini and Giroud (-4 p)

    3. Pienaar (or Morrison) and Torres in for Fellaini and Cameron (-4 p) - Bench Giroud for Sterling and transfer him next week

    4. Zabaleta, Gera and Torres in for Cameron, Fellaini and Giroud (-8)

    What to do?

Damn. Just read that Peter Andre's brother died.

Sad times. I used to go to Arsenal matches with Andy back in the 90's.

    Thoughts on this idea please?

This week Sterling –> Puncheon for free (already done Fellaini –> Walcott)
Next week (GW19) Walcott –> Bale

That would leave me exactly enough for Walcott –> Bale assuming no further price drops / rises

    Squad would be

    Jussi, Mignolet

    Rafael, Enrique, Shawcross, Shorey, Nelsen

    Bale, Silva, Michu, Nolan, Puncheon

    RVP, Suarez, Lambert

I would, Sterling to Puncheon is fine if you want, but keep Walcott unless he gets injured, you will want him back for the dgw

I have 3 City (Tevez, Silva, Zabaleta) and figure that in itself is gamble enough at this time of year. Captaining Rooney.
