Preview Movie – The Hall of Fame

As mentioned in our earlier Christmas message, we’ve got a couple of new content releases coming in the next week or so, with the addition of the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and the full implementation of the Rate My Team tool.

The first of these can be previewed in the movie below, in which I’m joined by Chris Atkinson, the creator of Rate My Team statistical model and the algorithm behind the Hall of Fame.

What is the Hall of Fame?
In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier Leauge mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a career table that updates every season and a live table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek.

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2011/12 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (40184-13425), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.=

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data. This version will only be available to our members in the Members Area. If you wish to get access to the live version, you can sign up as a member – our half season membership and membership rates are due to go live on January 1.

When will the Hall of Fame be available?
All being well, we are rolling out the Hall of Fame, together with the full implementation of Rate My Team, for January 1.

      Damn, I hate to rationalize but I also have Morrison (WBA) who is next to useless and Demel and Sterling who is a 2pointer this week, IMO... Would be easy if it's just Fel

    dang. this hall of fame thing sounds ok. reason not to 'do a katie', as it's become known in the common vernacular. of course, my history only goes back 2 seasons and misses a 2550th place finish 2010/2011. (as well as 5 prior seasons of absolute hopelessness, but best keep that hush-hush)

          I think rested but Harte came off with an injury and I doubt he'll be back for tomorrow and it would give Shorey a chance of redemption, personally I wouldn't have either Shorey or Gunter in my FPL team, This week I'm going to do Shorey -> Lowton/Nelson/Davies 😀

      People with good consistency will love it, those with a dodgy year or two won't. Simple as that. The people who have consistently good rankings are obviously top players. Those with a bad year or two are not necessarily bad so I'm not really sure of the point of it all... 😕

      Well if nothing at least it spices up Boxing Day. Yes, Berbs is a big punt given his and Fulhams recent form, but, Ive been set to do this as of 3 weeks ago. It could be foolish or just one of those decisions that pays off handsomely. The fact that others are also considering this and also that he is among the Scout Picks has given me a bit more faith in this decision. Cmon Berba you lazy bum.

    Afternoon gents, any suggestions on improving this team? 1 FT and 0.9m in the bank. Thinking of saving the FT and assessing the damage after the GW as I have a fair few guys on 4 yellows. Were they all to survive then I'd look at replacing Aguero (a pre-reading punt) and Sterling. Thoughts? (I'm chasing a lead so happy to take a chance on differentials). Cheers!!!

        I shipped shorey last night for Davies of swans.
        The way I see it, shorey is a rotation risk and over Xmas this isn't worth the headache.

          Clark one game away from suspension which worries me, i already have Begovic and Stoke's fixtures aren't great which bring me to the conclusion that Hughes or Hangeland is my man, Hang is a little bit dearer but more of a goal threat, think i'm edging towards him?

    Not sure how I'd fare under this system...probably not very well:

    1,659,363 in my first season (only played half a season)
    5,334 in my second (first full season, all thanks to FFS)
    270,332 in my third (spent 4 months of the season drinking/smoking my way around S.E. Asia)
    14,351 in my fourth (mainly thanks to FFS as I was living in Oz and not watching many games)
    Currently 390 this season and hoping to keep it up!

    Not exactly consistent!
