Seven Premier League matches ease us into 2013, starting with West Brom’s Hawthorns clash with an ailing Fulham outfit. That’s followed by a string of three o’clock matches, with both City and United in action.

Robin Van Persie will sport the armband for many when he faces up to Wigan at the DW Stadium, while City will be looking to blow down the stubborn Stoke barrier at the Etihad. The Swansea teamsheet for their encounter with a porous Villa defence will be keenly anticipated, with Michu due to undergo a fitness test to decide if he can take pot-shots at Brad Guzan. Arsenal, with Theo Walcott expected to be in the striker’s role once again, round things off with their trip to Southampton for the evening kick-off.

Steve Clarke makes five changes from the side that slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford. Youssouf Mulumbu returns after a hamstring knock to take his place alongside Chris Brunt in the Baggies’ double-pivot, while the West Brom boss changes all four of his offensive players. Marc-Antoine Fortune, James Morrison and Zoltan Gera replace Graham Dorrans, Markus Rosenberg and Peter Odemwingie in the attacking midfield three, and Romelu Lukaku gets the nod over Shane Long as the lone forward.

West Brom Starting XI: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Tamas, Ridgewell; Mulumbu, Brunt; Fortune, Morrison, Gera; Lukaku.

For the visitors, Martin Jol makes a single alteration as Alex Kacaniklic replaces Kerim Frei on the left flank. Mark Schwarzer and Damien Duff fail to recover from neck and calf problems, while Matthew Briggs is preferred to John Arne Riise at left-back again.

Fulham Starting XI: Stockdale; Riether, Hangeland, Hughes, Briggs; Dejagah, Karagounis, Sidwell, Kacaniklic; Ruiz; Berbatov.

    Pedestrian first half, shame to see West Brom come out a play so leisurely. Was looking forward to seeing Lukaku dominate the defenders in this game but he's hardly got a chance.

      for everyone who will use the WC: we could control the price of each rise, for example one day did the price of rvp up, the other did the Fellaini rise, or two consecutive days with the guys

      everyone who uses the WC: one day bought all the gerrard (ex.), stayed with gerrard for another day to climb a bit, then sold and everyone bought the Fellaini …

      this also works for the falls….. we can control prices

          yes... because we have 11 days to do that.... and could do that with 4 players at the same time, have that players 2 days... so 4 x 5 = 20. he could rise a price of 20 players, 0.1 each..... 2M for eveyone..... or could drop some prices..... and in the last day, choose the guys we want

        Good choice. I sold Ba as Newcastle were just playing awful and didn't look like scoring. Same for Fulham but they were still getting more chances imo. What are you doing with him now?

          Yeah that was why I ditched him for Suare initially but he kept getting goals and getting plenty of shots away so I got him back in.
          I've honestly no idea what to do with him. If it looks like he is off (which it does at the moment) I'll either get a cheap 3rd striker like Ruiz and have Mata/Walcott/Michu/Fellaini/Bale or go with Podolski for the DGW.

            Will be doing Berbatov > Podolski for the DGW if it helps. Yeah Ba does get alot of shots away, his playing style just seems so awkward with the way he runs e.t.c... i dunno why but it put me off.

    I have a feeling. I did this exact same thing with Ba.
    I took him out 1 game before vs WIG. Planning to took a punt with Tevez.
    He got 20 points on those two weeks.

    Now my Berba to Defoe punt.

      Get in a few DGW players for GW23. WC after that then to get the deadwood out of your team.

      Also gives you an advantage re: the transfer market.

    Why does Steve Clarke continue to tinker with his squad week in week out? He rotates and changes it every game when he has neither the strength or depth to do so.

    Not just over the Xmas period but pretty much all season.... It's not as if they've been overwhelmed with a fixture pileup compared to other teams.
