Strikes from Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor are not enough as the Baggies boing back to rescue a point in midlands derby clash. Here’s the Stock Check on Saturday’s evening kick-off…

On the Up

Christian Benteke
A superb turn and an exocet shot that arrowed into Ben Foster’s net, handed Benteke his seventh goal of the season. The Belgian continues to be Paul Lambert’s key player and the sole Fantasy temptation in the Villa squad. With the Newcastle failing back four up next, Benteke’s chances of scoring back-to-back goals looks enticing.

Charles N’Zogbia
A former Fantasy favourite, at times in the first half, the former Latics winger sparkled and showed glimpses of talent that once made him a serious proposition. A brace of assists will immediately re-introduce him to the radar and, having made just his fourth start of the season, N’Zogbia he could yet emerge as a mid-price prospect in a Villa midfield that’s been bereft of Fantasy options.

Chris Brunt
Rather like the Norwich midfield assets, it appears that Brunt has been on a see-saw with James Morrsion as the main source of points for the Baggies in the middle of the park. A second goal in five games promotes Brunt’s stock this time around and arguably helps to oust Morrison as the primary target in Steve Clarke’s midfield.

Going Down

The West Brom Defence
With Gareth McAuley owned by over 8% of Fantasy Premier League managers and Ben Foster claiming over 6%, the Baggies rearguard goes on disappointing. Having started the season with three shut-outs in the opening five fixtures, Clarke’s side have gone six without defensive returns, conceding more than a single goal in their last four. It’s one clean sheet in 13 league outings, although McAuley’s assist for Odemwingie’s equaliser will sweeten that pill for tonight at least.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

RMT please.. using my Jan WC..

    Mignolet, Bunn
Williamson, Martin R, Davies, Nelsen, Demel
    Walcott, Bale, Michu, Puncheon, Mata
    Suarez, Van Persie, Dzeko

have to ditch Ba for Dzeko to free some funds for Michu.. considering they both are rotation risk..

    Tremmel + Cameron + Sagna + Snodgrass + Ba >> Bunn + Williamson + Martin R + Michu + Dzeko

any advise is much appreciated.. thanks

Double Norwich without Ruddy, is not good.

I'd say Gibbs/Podolski → Suarez/dirt cheap def... or Luiz and a slightly more robust defender

well there's always rotation risk surrounding ba, and aguero should score well. i guess i'll just wait until city plays liverpool, then get aguero for southampton game for just -4. but if aguero goes up before southampton game, i have to do the trade because i can't afford if he goes up

I am so confused about whether to WC now or in gw25. What is everyone basing their decisions on??

i already have michu, fellaini, bale, walcott, rvp…so yeah, need to get rid of berb nolan and podolski.

since fulham and ars play @home next gw, am thinking of taking them out in gw25 so WC then?

    thoughts?

True, I'm pretty happy with my attack of RVP - Suarez - Lambert I could switch to

        RVP - Aguero - Sturridge

My midfield is where I'm not sure so many possibilities and who to leave out of the so called 'Power 5'.

        Atm I've got Mata - Walcott - Michu - Fellaini - Puncheon

I want a Stoke - Sunderland defense. Which is the cheapest route to their nailed on players?
I got Begovic early so the selling price is equal with Mignolet.

    1. Begovic + O'Shea (or is Bramble / Kader nailed on)
    2. Mignolet + Cameron (Wilson when fit)

Is Wilson not back until the end of February though?
Also, stoke not exactly the best defence about at the moment

I'll need 2 midfielders under 5.0 in order to afford RVP Aguero and Suarez. All suggestions welcomed. Thinking Maloney and Marveaux at the moment,
Also which big hitter among Mata, Bale and Walcott must I lose?

Walcott, ever though about a RVP - Aguero - Sturridge combo? Giving you an extra 3m to upgrade your mids

I bought Suarez fairly cheap so dont want to lose him now. And I still think he should easily outscore Sturridge for the rest of the season.
Any ideas on which two cheap mids rotate decently?Just realised that if I lose Mata, I can afford Taarabt who I reckon I could play every week, right?

Do you have 10.0 in total for the two mids?

I'd go for: Marveux and De Guzman or Gardener and Puncheon

      I'm losing Bale from those. I get frustrated with his 2, 2, 2, 25, 2, 2.

If I lose Mata or Bale I have 10.1 but if I lose Walcott then only 9.2. How about Taarabt and Marveaux? I wouldn't mind playing Taarabt every week.

Slight green arrow and tight in the cup so far.
Have Walcott (c), Cazorla and Podolski.
So it all hangs in the balance on which version of Arsenal turn up 😕

        How bout yourself?

    DZ yes!!!

Has the 3-5-2 lasted a week then? Seems that way right now.

Personally (as alluded to before, during my wonderful visit outside the DZ), I like change, and although the P5 looks amazing, and in fact will return point upon point, I am thinking Aguero and Fletcher sat next to RVP might be devastating.

Currently im on 3-P5-2 with RVP and Ba.

I'm leaning towards RVP - Kun - Sturridge

Still gotta decide who gets cut from the midfield though 😕

Yea that's mega big decision. Once you have accumulated the 5 of them it is hard to envision losing any of them, especially when they all have great fixtures, mostly great form, and the value invested in them all.

Bale or Michu for me I think, and obviously Michu doesn't free up nearly as much dosh 🙁

He burns you with a hatrick on occasion, but has a lot of 2pt weeks.
