634x258 The Stock Check

A disappointing Monday night affair saw Southampton dominate the opening period, only to concede ground in the second-half as Everton gained superiority. With little on show for Fantasy managers, here’s the Monday night Stock Check…

On the Up

The Southampton Defence
A second clean sheet in the last three maintained the form of the much-improved Saints rearguard. With Artur Boruc making several key saves, he is presenting a seemingly assured budget option in goal for a 4.4 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag, while both Luke Shaw and Nathaniel Clyne go on offering value for their 4.0 valuations.

Leighton Baines
In truth, the service from the Toffees left-back was not up to its usual standard but, having gained his second consecutive clean sheet, Baines delivered returns and, pre-bonus, is now just six points of the top of the FPL defender rankings. With West Brom and Villa at Goodison in the next two, further profits look on the cards for those who have kept the faith.

Going Down

Marouane Fellaini
It’s no goal in his last five starts for the towering Belgian. More significantly perhaps, the injury to Seamus Coleman forced a reshuffle that saw David Moyes shift him back to a deeper central midfield role and introduce Victor Anichebe up front. With Kevin Mirallas looking bright from the bench on his return from injury, Moyes has further attacking options and there will be slight concerns that the Everton boss may consider a change of position for Felliani having seen his side draw consecutive blanks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What transfer should I make? 1 FT and 0,7m in the bank. Santi -> Bale best option? Thx!

    Szczesny (Bunn)

    Demel Zaba Davies Wilson Shaw

    Fellaini Mata Walcott Santi Puncheon

    RVP Suarez Lambert.

Hehe, that shouldn't factor into your decision though. This is a new transfer. Re-evaluate. But like I said, Santi -> Bale is the obvious option.

Think this is my wildcard team

    Reina Federici
    Zabaleta Azpi Davies Martin Harte
    Mata Bale Walcott Fellaini Puncheon
    Rvp Sturridge Fletcher

Felli's for the next 2 weeks then could sell as there's lots of value in his price range, same with Fletcher. Might bench Sturridge vs city and play Punch (wig) but I fancy him vs arsenal and beyond so thought I should get in early.
    Thoughts?

    Podolski>Aguero (-4)

Sound move? or stay patient till next week and make the transfer free? Aguero vs QPR looks tempting.

Power 5 isn't always good. I had an idea for power 5 a month ago. But the structure of the team could change. Having 3 strikers is safe. Striker's duty is to score. Power 5 just good when they explode and i can see Bale is hardly to be consistent. And i never seen Fellaini to explode a lot of goals

    Ba, RvP, Ruiz.

    2.3m in the account.
1 FT left this week after bringing Davies in.
Opinions on this side. What would u do..?

Prob going to get rid of Nolan soon and Ruiz..

Some good replies about how Moyes doesn't use Fell as an out and out striker when the Jelavic route has failed...It's a great alternative....Somebody suggested that Anichebe could be equally good..But that reminded me of Blackburns tactics in the nineties,,When all else had failed for the SAS, who were much better in the air than Jeavic anyway, they would send Colin Hendry up front as well for a bit of route one...Always worth a go...

Another 2 BPs for Fellaini? That's a right kick in the balls.

Gambled on not having him in my WC 2 weeks ago as didn't think he would do much over these fixtures... and he didn't but has still got 3 BPs and 2 BPs.

How can one get it right but still be wrong? No one can look past him now he is averaging 5.5 points per goaless draw, it's like the bad old days of man in the stand again.

I have to disagree with the 'stock going down' on Fellaini. In the last 3 games he has pulled up 16 points for 1 assist! Fellaini gets points for merely taking to the field.

In contrast Dzeko has gained 15 points for 2 goals and an assist. Bonus points... It's an ugly business.

No, Fellaini wasn't in my wildcard and Yes, I am bitter about it.
