Fears over certain new boys’ starting roles prevented us handing places to the likes of Chris Samba and Lewis Holtby in this week’s article. Instead, we tread a path less risky and roll out three overlooked forwards with game time guaranteed and favourable home ties on their respective agendas this weekend.

Loic Remy

QPR’s record buy made an instant impact on his debut, notching within 15 minutes in a 1-1 draw at West Ham in Gameweek 23. Shackled by City’s backline on his first appearance in front of the Loftus Road faithful in midweek, Remy will be looking to return to goalscoring ways as Norwich roll up to Loftus Road tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp’s side are now unbeaten in four and with home draws against Spurs and City, the R’s will be confident of overcoming a Canaries side that have conceded in 10 of the last 11 Gameweeks. Handed the role of the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 with Adel Taarabt pulling the strings behind him, Remy has played every minute of his two matches so far and offers guaranteed game time and a security of starts that could well see him prosper this weekend and beyond.

The Loftus Road outfit have six enticing looking fixtures in the following seven Gameweeks (swa, sou, SUN, avl, ful, WIG) which certainly bode well for their chances of survival and affords plenty reason for optimism. Priced 6.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and 8.0 in the Sky Sports game, Remy has the potential to prove a mid-price bargain as Redknapp turns to the former Marseille man to fire his side out the drop zone.

Victor Anichebe

So often a peripheral figure at Goodison, the Nigerian has enjoyed a recent run of games which affords Fantasy managers with an intriguing budget option to consider. Mainly utilised on the right due to a recent injury to Kevin Mirallas, the versatile Anichebe was shifted to the lone forward role last Wednesday as David Moyes dropped the off-form Nikica Jelavic to the bench.

An assist in the 2-1 triumph over West Brom maintained a run of form which has now harvested attacking returns in five of the last seven Gameweeks, with four bonus points also thrown in for good measure across that period. Priced at a mere 4.3 in FPL and 6.8 in the Sky Sports game, and with an ownership under 2% in FPL, Anichebe now welcomes Villa to Merseyside tomorrow. Given the game time, he is clearly capable of producing and looks superb value against an out-of-sorts side that have conceded two or more in all but one of their last seven.

Franco Di Santo

The departure of Arouna Kone to the African Cup of Nations has considerably boosted the Argentine’s appeal of late. Moved into the lone forward role vacated by the Ivorian, Di Santo has flourished – scoring in two of the last three, with a couple of bonus points also accrued.

Roberto Martinez’s side welcome Southampton to the DW tomorrow and, from an attacking perspective at least, are starting to finding their form – Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke meant Wigan have notched twice in back-to-back matches for the first time since Gameweek 3. With an upturn in offensive threat, the Latics will be confident of seeing off the Saints and Di Santo, at just 5.3 in FPL and 7.5 in the Sky Sports game, could appeal to those looking for a real short-term differential gamble, with Kone’s return from international duties later this month likely to see Di Santo move back out wide.

    Repost...

Is it inconceivable to only have Suarez for the DGW? (Already have Davies & Michu)

All these planned hits are making me uneasy… I kinda wanna keep Baines for Norwich and Reading, and wouldn’t mind if I had to play him at United, just in case he got a goal/assist…

Fellaini scoring 2 against Villa would make this a whole lot easier…

I'm considering Suarez only but not sure if I'll stick to it. Sturridge is obviously intriguing but I'm not overly keen on having two strikers with a blank the next week. A defender and one striker seems a better idea overall.

Why does everyone reckon that Enrique might not get both the games? If BR does rotate, he usually plays a weaker squad in the Europa league.

Just wondering that's all. I can't afford Johnson/Agger and Skrtel seems to be unsure of starting off late.

I am having Fellaini at the moment but not having Michu.. 🙁

    2 options:

    2) Go for Michu in Current Wc. This allows me to get Gerrard in Mids.

If I I could only pick 1 of them from now till the end of the season I'd pick Bale cause I feel his upside is higher(Based on underlining stats which are much much better than Gerrards to date). Pool have been pretty solid at home and will prob be very short money to keep at least 1 CS in these games.

If you can't get RVP, at least get Rooney for Tevez or Ba. No need for Monreal, no need for Obrien, no need for Federici over Bunn. If that doesn't get you the cash for rooney, then Ba can be downgraded to a sure starter (giroud, benteke, fletcher, lambert, lukaku, take your pick)

Now that things have quietened down a bit, I have a few dilemmas on my WC I'd like you kind DZers to help me with.

    I'm pretty set on

    Mignolet – XX
    Davies – Clyne – Pearce – Demel – XX
    Bale – Mata – Walcott – Michu – XX
    RVP – Sturridge – Suarez

So these last 3 spots need to be filled. I see 2 options. The defender will become GJ for the DGW.

    1) 3.9 GK, Baines, Guthrie – will give me more cash down the road, but leave me with Guthrie

    2) Bunn/Tremmel, 6.6/6.7 Def, Puncheon – less money down the track, but have a good 5th mid

    What say you?

so the long term plan is both Sturridge AND suarez?

I like 2, far more viable and flexible should issues arise unexpectedly.

No, long term is one of them, the other or maybe both will leave after the DGW.

      How about Tremmel, GJ, Puncheon?

      Gives you 6 DGWers...

Although Baines is a good option for 2 weeks after Utd...

In fact you need Baines for Villa, so get him, then switch to GJ next week...

        Can this be done?

      3) Bunn/Tremmel, Zabaleta, Taarabt? 2 makes the most sense, just not sure a mid 6m defender is that much better than Zab, since you probably don't want the GJ transfer headache unless you do no moves for gw26 and then 2FTs for gw27.

Nope, that 5th mid spot is not going higher than Punch, otherwise the long term plans suffer.

Then 2 is a great set-up for short and longterm.

I'd choose 1) because of Baines (you don't have Everton cover), more money in case you need to rebuild and having a cheap mid isn't very much of a problem since he'll not play most of the time.

    Captain choice?

    Bunn (bego)
    Zabaleta/Azpil/Davies/(Demel/Harte)
    Mata/Michu/Fellaini/Walcott/(Marveaux)
    RvP/Sturridge/Fletcher

I currently have RVP but fancy a bit of Fellaini.

    Thoughts?

    P.s. yes it's nearly bedtime.

Do you think RVP will get 20min cameo against FUL? SAF may start chica & roo upfront isn't?
hard to choose between RVP/Walcott for captaincy..

So on a wildcard and only thing I'm unsure about is whether to keep Begovic or not...could just downgrade to cesar and spend the money elsewhere...any good rotation keepers out there with cesar?

    Afternoon all

Hungover and wobbly here. Poor brain hasn't woken up yet so...which of these 5 handsome chaps would you start today:

Zaba, GJ, Davies, Demel, Big Turner?

Can City keep out Suarez and Studge? Will the Swans get another 0-0? Can Turner and friends keep out QPR? Will this be the game GJ scores his one amazing goal a season?

Gotta start the big guns, they both can get forward and find the back of the net. Davies for spot 3 IMO. Demel at a push.

Cheers Don, that's the way I'm inclined atm. I rather fancy West Ham to score, they looked much improved the other night against Fulham, but I'll probably play Davies. Clean sheets are impossible to guess so may as well just go for the form teams and players.

Hmmm I'm wavering on my No Suarez plan and have to look at other options now. Which plan do you guys prefer

    A) Reina, Gerrard, Sturridge -4( upside is I can still field 11 in GW27 without any more hits)

    B) Suarez, Enrique ( Upside is I protect myself from getting massacred by all the Suarez C)

    C) Suarez, Sturridge, 6.0 MFer -4 ( Upside is I get 2 strikers in a DGW)

C is nice but would mean I'd need a hit to play 11 in GW27. Thats -8 total for this move is I go with another DGW player

    One more:
    1.
    Zaba + Azpi
    or
    Clichy + Rafael

    2.
Azpi + Taarabt + Sturridge(already have gerrard, and would leave me with Gerrard, Sturridge, Michu, Davies not playing on the blank)
    or
Harte + Guthrie + Aguero(Guthrie would sit almost always to other 4 mids Gerrard, Mata, Michu, Walcott)

So I really wanted Taarabt in my WC, but I can't see myself dropping one of Michu/Mata/Gerrard/Walcott/Bale for him. Best midbudget option by far
