Contrary to earlier reports on twitter, Juan Mata is fit and available for Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle. Petr Cech returns from a brief calf problem, though the Blues are still without David Luiz due to an ankle injury.

Dimitar Berbatov is out of Fulham’s home clash with former club United, while Steve Sidwell is also unavailable for the Cottagers. Sir Alex Ferguson has promised to make one or two changes for the visitors – he’s hoping Jonny Evans will be back and has also revealed Rio Ferdinand will feature. Ashley Young is still sidelined, however.

Mikel Arteta could return for Arsenal’s home clash with Stoke, though Thomas Vermaelen is a doubt again due to an ongoing ankle problem. Swansea’s Michel Vorm remains sidelined with a minor knee problem, casting doubts over his availability for next week’s double. Liverpool have omitted Philippe Coutinho from the squad to face City – he is “away getting things sorted” after joined from Inter. Vincent Kompany is expected to remain on the sidelines for another three weeks for City, while Peter Odemwingie won’t be considered for selection for West Brom after yesterday’s transfer deadline day drama.

All this and more is collected and collated in our team news section, where you’ll also find our updated predicted lineups.

“Rate My Team” has also been updated to reflect the very latest, the Projections will be updated very shortly.

We’ll keep you informed of any new information via our twitter feed, as always.

Would've been nice wouldn't it ... if they were Mata, Hazard & Cech - less... would have felt like a real opportunity.

Not that we've made a habit of taking those opportunities, but yes, would have been a definite help. I'm just hoping they're daft enough to keep Ba on the bench.

    Mata 😀

Liklihood of either Carragher or Wisdom getting 2 games over the double? Would I just be better off going replacing Gibbs with a 5.6 defender who is at least guaranteed gametime?

If Ba hadn’t of dropped last night I could have Enrique 🙁

Sorry to repost and change question but really have a dilemma.
    Need a defender this week

    Options are
1 Get Nastasic or Johnny evans and only have enough cash for Enrique next week or
2 Get anyone up to 5.5(thinking Fabio) and be able to afford Glen Johnson next week.

Have Luiz as well as an expensive defender.
    Need help !!!

Jafa is the uber King. He's a big timer (I think), so I think it clearly works, and is a nice/alternate strategy. This time of year the defenders seem to do well though, as we are seeing now with Evra, Baines and soon to be ...................Samba 🙂

Sometimes I think overdependance on RVP as (C) cost me a few thousand places uptil now.

eg: I wanted (C) Mata last week and I didnt, only 'cause I didn't 'feel comfortable with it and was worried that RVP'll rip it up'.

That being said, I'm still too p*ssy to try anything outrageous like (C) Fellaini or Walcott this week 🙁

b.) If you think you need it this week.

d.) If you want to maximise the potential for the dgw without taking any hits.

Personally, I'd go for b.) and then spend 4 points to get a couple of dgw players in next time.

hmmmm been puzzling about this...I've gotta get rid of either Santi Cazorla or Mata.... they are worth 9.5-santi and 9.4- mata, so either would do. Who would you give the boot?!

Cazorla, less explosive pointwise and generally a greater goal threat. Also depends on who for

hi ya, cheers for your comment, its so I can get Suarez in for Benteke! I've got a lot of expensive midfielders and VP, so need to lose one. Would you say Cazorla?

    Hi,

Any thoughts on the following team?

    Mignolet, Bunn

Ivanovic, G. Johnson, Shawcross, Davies, Clyne

    Mata, Walcott, Michu, Fellanni, Noble

    RVP, Giroud, Sturridge

    0.5 in the bank

I think Ivanovic is too pricey - if you downgrade him you could upgrade Giroud (2 Arsenal attackers is overkill) or get a city defender in there

Thanks, I have Ivanovic since the start, so a bit hard to part ways with him, plus Chelsea have a good schedule but still food for thought.

    Lost on the other post:

With Graham gone, surely Shechter's a shout at £5m?

Potentially, although I think that'll just make Michu go up top with De Guzman in behind him. Schech hasnt exactly set the world on fire

We'll see Michu as the lone striker with De Guzman behind quite often imo

He did play even with Graham there and in my mind never made a huge impact, but if he hits form he could be a decent differential.

I dont think you'd ever play him, so might aswell get Pog for £4.4m

Hmm - My thinking is that Nasty is more certain of game time now Kompany is out for 3 more weeks whether as I'd hate to see Lolarov come on...
