While both Theo Walcott and Juan Mata delivered the goals we needed, a lack of clean sheets meant the midweek “Flutter” fell flat, allowing Paddy to claw back some of our recent winnings. Our recent treble win still finds us in the black, however, as we approach another Gameweek with a crispy tenner at the ready. Let’s see how the Scout Picks markets are shaping up for the weekend…

The aforementioned Theo Walcott is in such form, with three goals in as many games, it would seem remiss to overlook him for this weekend’s clash with Stoke. While Theo is red hot and well fancied to net once again, Arsenal’s somewhat frail defence means that Paddy can offer us 7/2 on a Walcott goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Potters. We’ll go on backing Walcott’s form with a couple of quid of this week’s stake.

In contrast to the Gunners man, Marouane Fellaini is without a goal in six league outings but is unlikely to get a better opportunity than this weekend, when a beleaguered Villa pay visit to Goodison. Paul Lambert’s side have proved so vulnerable at set-plays and Fellaini’s height and power will surely be a factor which will be exploited by David Moyes. Paddy are offering a modest 4/1 on a Fellaini goal with a third Everton clean sheet in four against Villa: we’ll put a tentative couple of quid on that one.

The final player market looks more favourable, with Adel Taarabt taking his place in yesterday’s Scout Picks – he looks a strong prospect as the basement club face up to an out-of-sorts Norwich at Loftus Road. The Moroccan has been in inspired form of late, without delivering goals, but we’re backing that run to come to an end later today and are more than happy to make this our bet of the week and place a fiver on Paddy’s odds of 6/1 on a Taarabt goal with a QPR clean sheet against the Canaries.

This week’s treble offer features a Robin van Persie goal, as always, coupled with a little something from City’s magician, David Silva. Paddy are offering 11/1 on a Van Persie goal at Fulham, a Silva assist against Liverpool and an Arsenal shut-out against shot-shy Stoke at the Emirates. That little offering claims this week’s final quid.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Urgh, I've only just realized that I'll have 3 separate cases of defender v attacker in GW27 if I go through with my planned GJ > Zaba FT...

The final piece of the WC jigsaw (I think):

    Szczesney, Bunn
GJ (becomes Zab in GW27), Davies, Cameron (can become Wilson), Harte, O'BRIEN OR CUELLAR

In the rotation and based on different projections, O'Brien gives me two superior fixtures in GW25 and GW27 (statistically at least), but I would want Cuellar long-term. O'Brien is £4.5 selling so they're the same price. I just can't decide!

I think Cuellar personally. West Ham are losing their defensive solidity, it seems. Also not sure O'Brien is completely nailed on, is he?

I assume he's nailed on! Demel is the alternative and looks appealing at £4m but I assumed he would loose his place long-term, whereas O'Brien would hold his. I suppose if I'm looking at the short-term if wouldn't hurt to have Demel over O'Brien.

What about Demel vs. Cuellar? I'd not considered him since I didn't think he'd stay in the team.

Haven't been looking at QPR as their GW27 fixture is off-putting. Think Hill/Onu would be the better bet? Are they nailed on?

OK. After a whole week of planning my WC, and investigating seemingly every permutation (including Reina in goal), this is the plan I have for the next 3 weeks. It's different, but I have kept hits to a minimum and covered every base I wanted to. Specifically, 5 prime DGWers, holding onto Fellaini and Michu, holding onto Baines and getting United defensive and offensive cover, as well as minimizing the amount of time I'm playing 3-5-2 (flexibility is important to me).

Feedback welcome, even though I'm hating the prospect of redrafting it again, anything to squeeze out a few more points is worth the effort.

    GW25 wildcard squad:
    DDG Bunn
    Baines Johnson Davies Clyne Pearce
    Mata Bale Walcott Fellaini Michu
    RVP Anichebe* Sturridge

*Pog can be chosen instead of Anichebe, but Anichebe is expected to start today with the Jelavic dropping and I fancy him for a run in the team.

    GW25
    DDG
    Baines Davies Pearce
    Mata Bale Walcott Fellaini Michu
    RVP (C) Anichebe

    GW26 RVP > Suarez
    Bunn
    Baines GJ Davies
    Mata Bale Walcott Michu Fellaini
    Suarez (C) Sturridge

    GW27 GJ & Suarez > Rooney & Wilson (-4)
    DDG
    Baines Wilson Pearce Clyne
    Mata Bale Walcott (C) Fellaini
    Rooney Anichebe

    LATER GWS...
I now have lots of money (4.4ish) to upgrade Anichebe to any striker I like below 8.7ish, such as Giroud. In that case, I'd end up with a final squad of

    DDG Bunn
    Baines Davies Wilson Pearce Clyne
    Mata Bale Walcott Fellaini Michu
    RVP Sturridge Giroud

such as Gerrard for the DGW or something? I see you only have 4 DGWers. Its possible to have more and still field a full 11 the following week without hits. Just save a transfer for GW26. so you can unload two DGWers for free.

Yep I wanted Gerrard at first but figured doubling on Suarez and Sturridge was a better way to nail those attacking points. Got to both be involved surely.

I've got 5 DGWers (Michu, Davies, GJ, Sturridge, Suarez). I'll be doing RVP > Suarez GW26 so won't be able to save a transfer

I think it's a well thought through plan, and it's great that you have covered all the bases you wanted to... but do you really think losing RVP is a good idea?

I personally think that the few points you gain from doing this in the short term will be lost in the long term from lost RVP points...

There is merit to the thinking Zep. In particular, PPG when both RVP+Rooney play and RVP is more important to United than Roon at the moment which could mean an RVP rest too. There is merit.

Should I get Tremmel or Bunn as backup for Migs?

Tremmel may get to play the DGW when migs has ARS.

Tremmel, but not at the expense of Baines, who doesn't really have a points ceiling...

The Tremmel option will get you an extra couple of points, but Baines could easily explode again...

    Mignolet – Tremmel
Baines – Davies – Clyne – Pearce – Demel/Onuoha(gotta check if this works)
    Bale – Mata – Walcott – Michu – Puncheon
    RVP – Giroud – Sturridge

    GW26: Baines + Giroud –> GJ + Suarez
GW27: Another hit depending on who I want long term

Stu almost certain. For Enrique to get double rise he needs about 50k transfers - he will likely to fall significantly short of that
90 percent he won't double rise
Unless he scores more than two points on Sunday - and then he is likely to make it.

Europa League Reviews – Groups C and H by Abhishek

    Group C
Genoa [EX] 63 vs Manchester United [Impressive Tackle] 50 :

Unfortunatley, Genoa win this fixture inspite of the heavy favourites Manchester United. While both managers had RVP(c), Podolski, Mata, Walcott, Fellaini, Begovic , it was ultimately the differentials of Genoa, who produced the goods. Suarez and Zabaleta all produced and along with home ground advantage, proved decisive for Genoa. Manchester United had Ba and Demel instead. So it's proves here that Team Value doens't favour the winners. 🙂

Bordeaux [Ryan] 41 vs Hertha BSC [Billy Ketsu] 58 :

Despite doing very well in recent weeks, Bordeaux hasn’t had much luck in H2Hs of late. This trend has continued in this fixture. Two vastly different teams faced off in this matchup. Bordeaux having Ba and Tevez while Herta BSC having Suarez and Podolski, where Suarez has given a goal to it. The Difference between this fixture was the Mata. Due to Mata factor, Herta BSC win by a greater Margin inspite of away Fixture. 🙂

Next week’s matches are Herta BSC vs Genoa and Manchester United vs Bordeaux. Bordeaux and Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their Matchday 1 losses in front of their own fans. Where Manchester United having a Home Fixture Advantage. Herta Bsc will continue to grow there impressive from of winning.

    Group H

Torino [Bowstring] 54 vs West Bromwich Albion [Snake Juice] 41 :

Torino Having the Home advantage, wins this fixture in a great style , another matchup decided byMata. Torino the hot favourites for this group is having a enjoy seat this weekand. This time also Less team value beat the greater team value by a medium Magrin. So i hope the owners have learned there lesson for not having mata in there team. 🙂

Standard Liege [Duffman] 63 vs FC Steaua Bucuresti [Doosra] 63 :

The closest matchup of Matchday 1 of the Champions League saw Standard Liege balancing the 4-point home advantage of FC Steaua Bucuresti ended in an epic draw. Both teams having there own differentials this week, where Standard Liege have gone for Rooney ditching Rvp, will Doosra goes for the Epic Baines and Giroud. He may well be ruing his decision to ditch Rvp, however. Standard Liege was born will surely be cursing FC Steaua for him having in the same group, as had Dzeko played 90 mins or Bertand play 60 mins, he would’ve surely scored enough to lead his team to victory.

Next week’s matches are FC Steaua Bucuresti vs Torino and West Bromwich Albion vs Standard Liege. Fans Favoutire Doosra will be having a huge pressure on him to continue him superb form of points and deliver the wins as possible, will Torino looks forward to pressure Doosra in this Epic match. In the other fixture, Standard Liege will win inspite of away fixture he is having.
