Fantasy managers were handed a heads-up of a new double Gameweek afternoon after Arsenal’s home match with Everton, originally scheduled for Gameweek 29, was moved to Tuesday April 16, or Gameweek 33 to you and I.

The fixture change is due to Everton’s FA Cup progress at the expense of Oldham last night. The Toffees are now set to face Wigan in the Sixth Round a week on Saturday and with Arsenal facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League the following midweek, there was no room for manoeuvre within Gameweek 29.

While the rescheduled date means Arsenal definitely have a double, it’s not quite as straightforward for the Toffees. Everton have confirmed that if they beat Wigan in the cup, their Gameweek 33 tie hosting QPR will be postponed, as the semi-finals take place over that weekend. With the Arsenal game now set for the midweek slot in Gameweek 33 (it will be shifted to Wednesday April 17 if Everton win), this would mean a double Gameweek for the Gunners (NOR, EVE), a single for Everton (ars) and a blank for QPR.

Luckily, we only have until next weekend before the Everton-Wigan FA Cup clash but in the meantime, the double for Arsenal looks hugely favourable. Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla will already be earmarked as potential captains – Walcott has produced three sets of double figures at the Emirates to Cazorla’s two and is likely to get the nod by many, despite being 10 points behind the Spaniard in the FPL standings. Having produced 30 points between them in Arsenal’s recent double Gameweek 23, their potential for points is obvious.

If you plan well, it should work in your favour. Hopefully, all will become clear this week. I'm relying on the City game going ahead.

Captain this week, Aguero at the moment. Soo many options though.

    The transfer planning dilemma.
"The further you plan in the future the more likely your plans are to fail..."
    vs
"Fail to prepare, prepare to fail..."

Course, I'm sure my 6 GW, 7 transfer plan to field 11 in GW27 and beast GW33 will work out just fiiiiiiiiine... wait, what's that? WHO just got injured? 😆

        Wilkinson/Cameron/Shawcross/Wilson.

I read this on another website and found it interesting so I thought I'd share.

Top 10 players with the most chances created per game in open play this season.

    10.Jack Wilshere
    9.James Morrison
    8.Adel Taarabt
    7. Aaron Lennon
    6.Santi Cazorla
    5.Moussa Dembele
    4.Steven Pienaar
    3.Rickie Lambert
    2.David Silva
    1.Luis Suarez

    Interesting fact about Cazorla:

He ranks head and shoulders above any other player in the league for accurate through-balls, with his tally of 22 a full 10 more than David Silva in second.

    And Suarez:

A huge distance ahead of the rest here - testament to the marvellous season he is having - Suarez has averaged 2.65 key passes from open play per game. His total of just four assists is incredibly unjust, with the Uruguayan having created 12 clear-cut chances, with poor finishing from teammates to blame for such a modest tally.

Hi guys, current team below, 1FT and 0.4 in the bank.

    Bego (Foster)
    Azpi Shaw Debuchy (Davies Demel)
    Walcott Bale Michu Fellaini Sissoko
    Sturridge RVP (Berba)

Was always gonna try and save my FT for next week but now considering selling RVP for Suarez/Lambert for 2 weeks. Selling value of RVP is 13.7 so he'll probs fall back to then by GW30 anyways. Which option do you prefer?

The aim isnt to get 11 players for every GW, but to have the best team you can for every GW. It is better to have Suarez for a clash with Reading than to have a Pog and Kebe double up in the same fixture.

In a side note, I presume this GW33 wont get postponed following Arsenal's CL run to the final?

Funnily enough Wigan do about as well away as at home if not better, their support is awful.

Awful home support probbly helps you adjust more easily to away games, often wonder is that why Fulham struggle away from home, always such a good atmosphere at Craven Cottage.

Wigan have joint worst home defence in the league, if thats even a thing.

Unless Suarez has one of his "special" days, I can't see them stopping Liverpool scoring a couple, as Pepin says. Doesn't mean Liverpool win of course...

I'm still semi-considering Sturridge and (C) Suarez, for maxiumum eggs/basket fun.

Good luck there, the DGW rides again.

Take it or leave it but I looked at Suarez and Sturridge points and concluded Sturridge is higher scoring and more consistent, ie. The RVP to Suarez's Rooney. http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2013/02/26/scout-notes-gameweek-27-monday/comment-page-2/#comment-5273283

I do wonder how Man utd will line up v Norwich, which will directly relate to how Fergie intends to line up v Madrid. Carrick may be benched, Nani also. Rooney is interesting as he will need to be fresh, as is prone to fatigue, his semi defensive role v Madrid will be crucial.

Way too much uncertainty with the deepest squad in the pl, multiple formations and a lack of clear midfield frontrunners.

I do reckon they'll play a classic solid 4-4-2 with Nani right, Young left, Hernandez and Rooney up top. Guesswork though. Midfield two could be anyone...

I don't think there'll be as much rotation as has been suggested.

I think at least 4-5 players will play both games (De Gea, one CB, Rooney, Carrick, maybe Evra and Rafael)

I am starting to think Rafael might play vs. Norwich too.

Wondering if he will get the start against Real. Despite his performance at the weekend, he looked dodgy at times in the first leg.

        The other thought I had on the train today;

Mancini has regularly called up Hart in the press for not doing his job, but Man City have the best defense in the league. Is he just too scared to blame the real culprits?

          Pantillimon is the better keeper

But really, I think it's because they concede so few chances that if they are letting them in he blames Hart for not stopping the scraps the opposition are working off maybe.

Hart has made some mistakes this season that I never thought I'd see him make this often.

He's also done the same with his strikers though, after the Liverpool game I think, he said Dzeko and Aguero weren't good enough.

Not sure if this is inspiring for the future DGWs or depressing because I kind of am sucking at the way the game is designed to be played (aka SGWs):
            DGW average - 91.5
            SGW average - 52.0
Anyone else have such a dramatic split?

That's interesting because at the start of the season and for most of the season I always used 55 as the points total to aim for in SGWs. Anything over that was a bonus.

The way I look at it is that scoring 55 is the equivalent of all your players scoring 5 points. Which would be a remarkable gameweek in itself. Obviously that doesn't happen and your captain compensates along with a few other heavy hitters (you would hope). But 5 points each would be impressive. Maybe it's a silly way of looking at it but there you go! 😀

SGW, still a pretty lame 52

He'll be getting mostly assists though which limits his upside. Difficult to recall a single player in the game owned primarily for their assists because they have low goal threat.

                Ruiz was the last...

Sissoko's only played 4 games. Over the last 4, their goal threat is very similar, with a slight advantage Sissoko.

If Aguero finds some form then I think Silva will be in another league. He's far more creative.

We've been saying that about Aguero all season.

And Sissoko's much more direct. Takes more shots and probs plays further forward.

Yaya is back. City are scoring again. Aguero is hitting form.

I'm not doubting Sissoko has been a sensation FPL-wise since his return but I still think Silva will outscore him. Feel free to disagree 🙂

Can't access member stats on phone right now but I wouldn't be surprised if Sissoko doesn't win, he's been converting at a high rate rather than having plenty of chances. Knocked in a few rebounds I think. I reckon Silva's stats received a helluva boost from the Fulham game when GW scored twice, one of which also was a rebound, can't remember the other exactly but it was pretty special. I think it's not particularly reproducible.

Hence I still haven't decided on getting either in.

Is Walcott and Giroud just too much Arsenal for this week's fixture? I know it can be a high scoring tie but I don't have great faith in Giroud. Would be great to hold the xfer but should I jump the gun and get Lambert in this week? Will hold on to RVP unless the wk 29 City game is on.

Giroud's underlying stats have been really impressive. If anyone is 'due' to score goal on the back of taking shots, etc it's him. Take that for what it's worth.

That's the thing...his positioning is good and he does look threatening but his finishing has been poor. Think my reluctance to ditch him now is mainly down to the "due" factor

            Fergie:

"In 1999 I left Paul Scholes out of the quarter-final against Inter yet he was the one who scored the goal that got us through," Ferguson told MUTV.

"I left him out of the semi-final because I couldn't risk him and Roy Keane together as they were both on yellow cards. He accepted it graciously, came on, got booked and missed the final anyway"

Ok guys, here is my team:
            DDG Bunn
            Azpi Clichy Davies Pearce Bertrand
            Mata Bale Fellaini Walcott Guthrie
            RVP Suarez Lambert

I have a few transfers to make heading into GW29 (I am taking in account that Chelsea, United, City will have a blank too). I just need to get my priorities right!

            Bertrand -> Wilson
            Fellaini -> Sissoko
            Azpi -> Jose Enrique
            Clichy -> Santon/Debuchy or other.

Which ones should I do this week ??

The first three should be your priority IMO.

That said, I'd concentrate on getting as many attackers with a fixture in GW29 as possible.

Saving the FT this week is a possibility. It will give you more flexibility next week, when you will have RVP, Mata, Fellaini and Walcott all with blanks.

RVP out this week could also be a good move if you don't think he'll play vs. Norwich.

I'm ready to move RVP out but my biggest problem is that I don't know who for.

Not sure if I've missed something, but don't Chelsea play Fulham and Arsenal verse Everton in GW29? How do Mata, Walcott and Fellaini have blanks?

I think it'll be a tight game vs Newcastle. Can see it being very low scoring.

really why? Newcastle have conceded 7 in their last.

Granted Swansea's form is hard to judge, not scored in 3 of their last 4, but the one they did score in they bagged 4. Plus 5 against Bradford too.

Maybe it is a risk when I have Bale.

Even fancy Fellaini a bit against Reading before i ship him out, opinions?

I currently have the "Power 5" and RVP and Pog.

With Pog suspended and RVP doubtful of playing time against Norwich followed by a blank GW should I be looking to sell RVP this week, otherwise I'll have to play a 4-5-1 and my defence isnt the strongest lol.

Wait and see what happens the blank isn't 100% guaranteed yet. If/when it is I am planning on shifting him out for Suarez or Aguero but I have my WC to use to get him back in further down the line.

Not a fan of the power five theory, it results often in having a substandard strike force. Would rather have Sissiko right now, and Lambert, than the 5 and Pog or Anciebe.

So Chelsea likely to have Dgw in 33 also because their not likely going to beat Utd at Old Trafford.

Could also see the Utd and City games being moved to 33 but for a single GW with them likely to remain in the cup.

That would leave a probable Dgw for them later in gw36 (no European games) with Utd Having CHE sto and City having swa WBA

            My educated guess

Are Chelsea that unlikely to not lose at Old Trafford? Not really. Bit too presumptuous IMO.

Got to get through first! Though I suppose we still have this issue with UEFA and not wanting PL games on same time as CL ones. Don't remember it being a problem last year though, maybe it's coz its the big sides?
