Who's doing RvP>Suarez?
Would leave me with two Liverpool attackers, so not too keen on it.
Slightly torn on getting Suarez if Sturridge is out.
On the one hand, he was great as the lone striker in the 4-3-3.
On the other hand, since Sturridge's arrival Pool have switched to 4-2-3-1 with Sturridge CF. Interestingly enough, when Sturridge was out against WBA, Pool played 4-2-3-1 with Suarez CF instead of reverting to the old 4-3-3. Suarez had a bit of a nightmare game and Pool lost 2-0 as you'll keenly remember.
Course it could be different against Wigan but I'd just caution that Sturridge out isn't necessarily good for Suarez or Liverpool for that matter. They actually do miss Sturridge now when he doesn't play because they've built their system around him. I guess a bit like they built it around Suarez.
But we all know what Suarez can do on his day. He's very explosive, and almost all the goals flow through him, can't see Pool not scoring against Wigan tbh.
Yeah, he was a force in the old system, with the freedom he had in the 'Messi role'. If they continue playing 4-2-3-1 I think he could find himself drifting into the channels a lot to pick up the ball and a bit isolated, like he was against brom.
Obviously hard to predict though.
A nice summary, Isacki. I've been deliberating which of the two to bring in, and am glad I kept my powder dry until now.
Statistically, I prefer the number of big chances and shots on target Sturridge is enjoying, but Is he captain material? Suarez is genuinely world class and while risky, a potentially explosive captain choice.
I'm pretty sure I'll be doing RVP > Suarez this evening.
There are so many "on the other hand's"...You can't analyse everything. Go with your gut, make your transfer, and stop thinking so much.
You do remember the article about how Italy would conquer Spain in the WC final because their diamond formation was perfect for it etc? And see how it turned out....These things can't be decided on paper. Suarez is a magnificent talent, who could score a hat-trick against City/United when in the mood. You just don't know how he will turn up against Spurs.
I told you to not think so much, and now you've got me thinking about these trivial FPL isssues. 🙂
Haha yeah. The funniest thing about that game was that it was a 'replay' of the previous one. Same formation, very similar teams, the previous one had finished 1-1. Nothing's certain on the day, that's why we love the game. All you can do is try to use what information you have.
Knowing this, Suarez will probably score from a free kick instead of open play 😉
suarez defo works better as part of a 433 or behind the striker since he does so much off the ball running, creating space and running into it as part of a passing unit, which doesnt seem to work as well as when hes strung out on his own since hes afocus for the defence
That's my thoughts, just ends up rather isolated and having to work too hard to get the ball.
exactly, the only game ive actually manage to get to this season was v sunderland new year.... he ran rings around their defence from this sort of position, they didnt know how to contain him and eventually their heads dropped, was amazin to watch (and frustratin given our ups and downs)

Suarez had great chances in that 0-2 loss. Just didnt finish them. They werent playing badly because of lack of stu. Just couldnt finish their chances that day. It happens. Stu or not
I suppose that's the other thing about Suarez, he needs a good few chances to put the ball in. Not a Pool fan but I thought they were laying siege to the goal but not producing that many big chances. Gerrard shot from edge of the box was the closest you got to a goal I think. There were a couple of nervy balls across the box. I don't remember any one on ones.
If Lambert was priced 11.0 and played with one of the top 4 and scored the same points as he did this year everyone would have him.... He is an ideal replacement for RVP
Best value player in the game, I honestly called him that. Unfortunately that was in midseason when they were tightening up after conceding so many, so stopped scoring so many. He's back on the rampage again now.
I see him play virtually every week and what you miss on MoTD is his wing play as he controls it and feeds players. He is just as likely to get assists as goals as he shifts around the park depending on what type of attack we are constructing. Great player. I don't have him as trying to not be guided by bias but I wouldn't be surprised if he ran riot this weekend. Depends what QPR team turn up.

Are people replacing van Persie with a high value alternative (Suarez) instead of a cheaper option because 5m in the bank "looks odd and doesn't feel right"?

I just imagine that they would rather see Suarez in their attack than Lambert and 5m in the bank.

Ha, I have the same feeling. I'll have 7 million odd in the bank if I decide to bring in Lambo for RVP - just doesn't look right! L'pool are also on TV in there next two and there is nothing better than watching a player run riot live.... something Suarez could easily do in both matches.

Just hit refresh. There are new comments being posted all the time.
Yesterday Ed worked on the email alerts fired when comments need approval or when there are user reports made. We added sorting by Discussion Rating and Stickies last night and that's working.
Ed is working on the importer tomorrow which will dump all the live comments in the new system. He's got about half a dozen tasks to complete before we begin testing. I'd hope they will all be done by end of play Monday. I'll likely update you end of play tomorrow.

Well we'll do a weekend of testing with the contributors. Tweak from that, then bring in a small set of the community. Then we'll increase that. During that period we'll need to tweak the design. I'd say three weeks from the first test.
