The ScoutCast emerges from under the duvet, Lemsip soaked and coughing and spluttering its way towards a century of episodes. After a two-week break, the full crew are assembled as Granville joins me to celebrate his Gameweek victory, Professor Chris Atkinson returns from the slopes to charge up his “Rate My Team” computer and Jonty chips in with another community-powered “Full Jonty”.

Around this we discuss the unlikely scenario of selling on Robin, give our Scout League leaders a shout-out, analyse the transfer ins and outs in “All Aboard” and look ahead to the weekend’s programme.

The “Full Jonty” rounds things off as “Ginkapo” gets the treatment, prompting a love-in with a certain Serbian left-back.

Take the temperature of this latest episode via this link, or follow Doctors orders and stream your medicine via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

TOWELIE, bringing in Aguero this week, I did it last week and disaster, don't you know everyone is saying the GW29 cut off point is in now, so they've got a blank, don't do it!

High as a kite isn't he! I can see bringing in Aguero being a disaster for him but he will be able to solve it, no doubt, but surely to solve it he will need to get a little high.

Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Wigan, Fulham look like all blanks for GW29.

I have 7 missing here (team linked). With Cuellar (why is he not playing) and Guthrie out of favour, looks like I have 9 players missing for GW 29 (1 GK, 2 DF, 3 MF, 3 FW).

Currently I can field 1 GK, 3 DF, 2 MF, O FW. That means I need to make 5 changes (2 FT + 12 point hit) to field 11 (ASSUMING no further injuries and Bunn is still No.1!!).

Anyone else in such a bad position? 🙂 And what would you do if you had my team???

Trying to put a positive spin on this the players you have with blanks will, I assume, be the best option for their team. If the DGWs are played over multiple weeks you/we could have some great options for captaincy.

Don't bring in defenders for a hit. Just try and concentrate on your attacking options and transfer the guys out who you won't be rushing to get back in gw30

11 isn't essential, 8 or 9 quality players could be enough, also consider that most of good teams aren't playing if the fixtures don't change so it won't be as bad as it seems

Great advice. Cheers guys. The 7 players with blanks isn't the killer, it's Cuellar not playing and Guthrie being dropped which has really made it painful. Otherwise could have got away with just a single hit! Top advice chaps, thanks, why I love this site 🙂

you could go only with 9/10 players to avoid many hits, and when dgws appears you already have many dgw'ers than the others

I guess dropping RVP for Suarez NOW is a good idea, as he has 2 weeks off anyway, and as the Podcast says, if United go past Real it could be several GWs more that RVP is dropped for in the run in!

Here's a question I've not seen asked yet - Who are you planning on benching for GW29 that you think will have a DGW very soon after and therefore worth sticking with?

I only have Walcott on my definite bench so far.

    Evening all,

Team is linked, but here it is anyway! Looking for any advice/recommended transfers for GW29..going to leave the team for this week unless anyone has any brainwaves for me, meaning I’ll have 2 FT’s for GW29. Will be benching Mata for that week, other than that, open to any transfers!

    Cesar,
    Enrique, Monreal, Zabaletta
    Mata, Walcott, Bale, Fellaini, Puncheon
    Aguero, Suarez
    bunn, shaw , O’Brien, Pog

keep getting roughly the same question cropping up....A lot of teams are in the same boat so a nine man tesm may not be as damaging as people think...In fact at the higher ends of the game i'd be prepared to bet that around 50% of teams won't put out eleven for gw29....just a guess...

    de Gea.
    Clichy, Azpilicueta*, Wilson.

    Van Persie*, Aguero, Sturridge*.

What do you guys think the RMT tool conversion rate is in terms of captaincy?

i.e out of a FULL 38 GWs, how many times will it suggest a captain that gets 5+ pts?

Thats my point. How many times out of 38 weeks do you think it will 'fail'.

By fail, I mean allocating a captain choice to a player who receives under 5pts.

I think it's fair to say that it'll make a decent choice most weeks, i.e the most logical, but it can't account for sharp up or downturns in form or bad luck. In fairness Walcott was a decent choice last week, I didn't realize Arsenal would play so poorly. It's impossible to say how often it will get it wrong.

Mmm, I'm certainly airing towards the original plan - Bench RVP and see what happens. I can recoup the funds with my planned Fellaini > Sissoko GW29 transfer if needs be. 2FTs next weekend can't be a bad thing!

        Let's just...

        Keep Calm
        and
        Bench RVP

Seems like a lot of posts from teams who simply will not be able to field eleven in GW29....Surely the right approach is to consider just how many teams will be fielding only 9 or 10 players in that GW and plan with that in mind...My guess (and it is a guess) is that about 50% (?) of teams at the higher end of the game will be fielding less than eleven players that week....and with uncertainties around the likes of Puncheon/noble/Davies etc it may well be a sizable number end up fielding only 7 or 8...Don't panic...!!!...Does 50 % sound right ?...just a thought...

I'd say more than 50% unless people take 2 hits over the next 2 weeks. The fixtures don't even look decent in gw29 and a lot of the teams with blanks have nice fixtures in gw30 so I'd agree with the not panicking strategy.

just use 2 ft's and one hit and then what will be will be...A lot of the players that will be taken out will be needed pretty quickly afterwards anyway...just as you say...

I posted this earlier on another article...

Rather than shipping out players with blanks for GW29 (a), is it a legitimate strategy to keep them, not put out a full side and load up with more DGWers for the DGW after GW29 instead(b)

      Eg

      Current players Walcott+ Harte

      a) GW29 > Sissoko + Harte (1xTransfer ) - 2 players play total of 2 match
      GW33 > Walcott + Harte (1xTransfer) - 2 players play a total of 3 matches

so 5 matches played by those players in total (2xFT)

      b) GW29 stick with Walcott + Harte - 2 players play a total of 1 match
      GW33 > Walcott + Monreal - 2 players play a total of 4 matches

so 5 matches play those players in total (1xFT)

With b you get the same matches played in total but less transfers

Run of bad luck eh? I'm sure Zab will start, he's been great, not just in fantasy terms, and he's been their captain a few times recently. Also, I believe there's no one fit enough to challenge him at right-back yet. I have him and am not worried one bit.
