We came so close to a string of wins last week, with goals for Romelu Lukaku, Moussa Sissoko and Gareth Bale dropping in nicely. Sadly, consolation strikes from Sunderland, Southampton and Theo Walcott’s failure to assist in Arsenal’s win over Villa robbed us of some big profits and left Paddy Power grinning. Let’s see if we can take the smile off their face with this week’s Scout Pick inspired markets…

Javier Hernandez is perhaps a surprise inclusion in this week’s Picks selection, but we’re pretty confident that the Mexican will get the pitch time to inflict damage on a Norwich defence on Saturday, perhaps at the expense of Robin Van Persie. With Sir Alex Ferguson’s back four keeping three consecutive clean sheets and Norwich hardly prolific of late, Paddy’s odds of 5/2 on an Hernandez goal with a United shutout are understandably slim but, with confidence in the “little pea”, we’ll place £4 on this one with little hesitation.

Leighton Baines is a Scout favourite and was always going to find his way in the Picks with Reading visiting Goodison this weekend. With five goals to his name this term, Baines is always in the hat to fetch attacking returns – in truth, it’s been clean sheets that have been hardest to come by. Even so, with Reading without Pavel Pogrebnyak up front, Everton may well see this one out and Baines, with penalties and free-kicks, could also crash the scoresheet. Paddy have 10/1 on a Baines goal with an Everton clean sheet against the Royals and we’ll take that for £2 of our tenner.

Stephane Sessegnon was subject of a Watchlist article earlier in the week and almost broke into a highly competitive midfield five in this week’s Picks. A scorer at West Brom, Sessegnon’s goal denied us winnings last week so he owes us this time around. Paddy’s odds of 12/1 on a Sessegnon strike with a Sunderland clean sheet against a Fulham side who have struggled for a cutting edge, look tempting enough for us to part with another £2 of our cash.

That leaves another couple of quid for the weekend treble. With Luis Suarez highly fancied for his trip to Wigan and David Silva in the Picks off his double assist against Chelsea last time out, we feature them both as Paddy offer 9/1 on a Suarez goal at Wigan, a Silva assist at Villa (assists must be verified by Soccernet.com) and a United clean sheet at home to Norwich.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Stuck on last page, team currently:

    Begovic
    Rafael, Enrique, Zabaleta
    Mata(vc), Walcott, Bale(c), Michu, Fellaini
    VP, Lambert

    Subs: Cerny, Sturridge, Davies, Wilson

    0.7m in the bank and no ft’s left.

    Already brought in Sturridge but concerned over minutes for Fellaini, VP & Sturridge.

    Should i still or twist and take a hit to replace one of these players?

    Probably not tbh,may just (c) Lambert and be either doubly happy if we win or doubly annoyed if we lose and bale explodes.

        You would bench RVP over Fellani or Sturridge?

        Fellani has offered nothing in last 10 odd gameweeks,

        Sturridge may be sharing points with Suarez

        RVP is capable of a goal in only a 20min cameo I would say.

          RVP is capable but your team is stacked with enough weapons that you don't need to roll that dice. It's a bit of a high risk high reward play- he'll get you either 10 pts or just 1 pt.

    I still haven't done transfer for this week. 🙁

    I am having this team for this week:

    Mig

    GJ Davies Clyne

    Michu Mata Walcott Bale

    Rvp Aguero Lambert

    So my options are :

    1)Go for Rvp ➡ Suarez and Kebe ➡ Sissoko (-4 point), it will be confusion as who to bench... And getting back Rvp will be point hit.

    2) Stick with Rvp, Go for Aguero ➡ Suarez , but i am tempted to give him one last chance.

    3) Onouha ➡ Wilson

      2 or 3 are good choices but thinking about next GW I'd go with 3

    Play Harte, Davies or O'Brien?

    or O'Brien to Clyne for a hit and play him instead.

      Fergie won't give Van Persie a cameo if they're winning easily. No point in risking him getting hacked out of it, pulling a hamstring etc when the points are in the bag and real on Tuesday.

      Even if you've only 10 players, which is unlikely, at least you'll have 2 FT next week. Possibly you get Taraabt, he gets injured, then you're down to 1 FT next week and 1 player less ?

          My rank is crap and all but I went with just 10 players last week, didn't do spectacularly but went ok. Was no harm. Taarabt might do well though his and QPRs form isn't grat and I think their confidence has dipped so much that even favourable fixtures won't help them. I think Sturridge won't play but Fellaini has a chance. That still leaves you with one other, probably a defender but that's 11.You really want to keep as many FTs for next week. Any players not playing next week will be your DGW players if they're fit when that comes around.

    Quick one guys, help much appreciated. In order to fund Cole -> Sissoko should I do:

    A) Zabaleta -> Wilson
    B) RVP -> Fletcher
    C) RVP -> Benteke
    D) RVP -> Lukaku

    Morning all. Sorry if you're bored of answering this, but have been away on business and the Internet service was poor.

    What's the general consensus on GW29? Used my FT on Bertrand > Wilson, and as it stands ill have 4-3-0 formation next week. Are people taking hits to field 11?
