Having failed to produce any attacking returns in his last three appearances, and with no league fixture on his agenda this weekend, Juan Mata is being sacrificed by significant numbers of Fantasy managers in an attempt to address the conundrum that is Gameweek 29. The Spaniard has been sold on by over 46,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, more than any other player so far but with three home games in four following directly on from his blank (WHM, sou, SUN, TOT), the potential for points is just around the corner. In this latest article for members, we take a look at his recent displays to ascertain whether there is any reason behind his current malaise.
Cisse hasn't travelled with the Newcastle squad to Moscow due to illness.
Open ControlsThanks the that info GW 🙂 I was all set to captain him this week.
Open ControlsNo problem, not clear yet whether he'll be fit for the weekend, hoping this is the case.
Open Controls
Rested for a monster weekend then 😀
Ding dang doo, Mr CaptainOpen ControlsHere's hoping 😀 (Not an owner, just desperately want goals, goals, goals from Newcastle!)

Open Controls
Not sure if that is a good or bad thing in considering him as an Aguero replacement.
Beneteke is starting to look the best option compared to Cisse, Lambert, Lukaku I think.Open ControlsNo news as to whether this makes him a doubt for the weekend or if it's purely precautionary, I'd hope we'll get more news before then.

hows it going ,,wanna be UTD fans'' ?
1. will often choose a big club which is guaranteed of years at the top bracket of clubs
2. have no connection to the club
3. foreign to the country and city of the club
4. will overuse club mottos (which makes it more evident)
5. never been to many games (if not any)
6. will never go many games ever
7. will use the excuse of geography to not go to games
8. have limited merchandise before the successful years (most likely none)
9. does not know the history, chants or culture of the club
10. always in the armchair during matchdays
11. uses the talk of tactics and transfers to compensate for the lack of all round knowledge of the club (history and culture of the clubs, attendance of games, lack of knowledge or care factor about the direction of the club off field etc.)
12. will not be effected by football tragedies as much as locals
13. will often be the most biased towards to compensate for the glory hunter status
14. will show more hate for other clubs to compensate for their glory hunter status
15. have a club in their own country, don't have the guts to support them
16. will never talk about the years before the club started to become successful
17. at games (if attended) will be the quiet ones who never chant or make a noiseOpen Controlsdefinition of glory hunters
i can see quite few of them at this forumOpen ControlsDon't you claim to be a United fan?
Or has that changed now that they lost?Open Controlsi am not a fan jut like you are not fan of arsenal
i am only dinamo ZG fan just like you are probably fan of some random aussie team wich is good
i do like UTD but i can't call myself a fan since i never been at old traffordOpen ControlsI'm allowed to support Arsenal though, just because I haven't been to the Emirates doesn't mean I don't support them.
Open Controlsbut you dont suport them
you are not inloved in arsenal and watching streams dosn't make you arsenal fan
i have few UTD shirts and i watch alomsot all thier matches, does that make me fan?= no i dont think soOpen ControlsI don't support them? Who the feck are you to say? 😆
I pay for Foxtel to watch EPL and the only reason I have never been to the Emirates is because I'm a student, I don't have the money to travel to England AND pay for a football game. It's not through me not wanting to go.
Or are you saying only people from North London can support Arsenal? ffs.Open Controlsand for what it's worth it's a goal of mine to go to an Arsenal game, and it WILL happen.
Open Controlsyeah, they are TRUE suporters, and you are nothing but a ,,wannabefan''
-you are not inloved in football and you never will be (unless you move up in london in future and even then you wont be TRUE supporter)Open ControlsWhy is your name Forca Inter then? You're not from Italy and obviously don't support Inter. You are not a true fan you are just a wannabe.
Oh and an absolute cock but hey let's not go there.Open Controls
In what way do you support them?
Open ControlsWhat do you mean? Obviously I can't support them at the stadium as I live on the other side of the world, but that doesn't mean I don't support them.
Open Controls
Let me ask you something. Why should you be forced to support the club of your local town if you had no choice in being born/brought up there?
Open Controlscause that makes difference beetwen real football fans(myself) and glory hunters who dont have a clue about football and just watching streams
Open ControlsAnd what if you moved country and can no longer attend home matches? Do you have to change team to where you moved to?
Open Controlsif i will ever move from CRO i will still be Dinamo ZG fan
i was born, rise and spend majorty of my life here
and i'll stay loyal and true fanOpen Controls
Well, you didn't ask to be conceived by your parents, but you can't just go out and get new parents...
Open Controls
This applies to a lot of clubs like Chelsea and City who fans have come out the woodwork over the past few years following a small amount of success.
I'm a proud United fan! Not a Glory supporterOpen Controlsthis dosn't appeal at true fans like you
Open Controls+1
Open ControlsThere is a large core of true Utd supporters, who love their club. In Ireland almost everyone has a utd shirt but don't have true passion.
Open ControlsMeh, I've supported them all my life and know a few others who have too. I agree there are those around who only align to a team for the sake of it but as far as I'm concerned they may not be passionate supporters but are still somewhat supporters.
Open Controls
It was the same for United when they got success and it's the same for any club.
High profile success attracts fans.
I wasn't that interested in football until I watched a derby where City won (years ago, when Goater was playing). All my mates were United fans and I kinda enjoyed supporting the underdog, especially when they did well.
(cool story bro)Open Controls
lol you copied this from the Urban Dictionary, I was wondering how it sounded half normal.
Open Controls🙂
Open Controls
Ireland is littered with them, when I lived in London for 16 years, I went to every QPR game that I could, plus many away games, and if we manage to stay up or return to PL, will money permitting revisit a place that I love.
Open ControlsCould have sworn you claimed to be a Utd fan?
Open ControlsHe did until yesterday it seems.
Open Controls
apart from the third point, you could usually apply that to most football fans.
Open Controlssome people actually move away from their home town at some point, because they have ambition and want to broaden their horizons, doesn't make them no a fan.
Open ControlsYes it does. DID YOU EVEN READ HIS POST!?

The American perspective, 18-20 are particularly relevant. I feel like you're WUMing a little Forca, but actually agree with most of what you're saying. That's why I never really picked a club team to support; it just felt weird as an American. I like watching football and playing fantasy football, but I'm definitely not a fan of any club.Open ControlsForca, you have a tiny penis.

so i can be a united fan cuz i never attended a game? Im in the caribbean and it will cost be £2000 in travel, accomodation and gameday ticket to see a game? Do you have that sort of money to spend on a football game????
all teams have glory hunters....Open ControlsI think you support a club even though you don't live there I'm a Blackburn fan I was born there held a season ticket forany years, I now live 400 miles away from the stadium and so haven't been to a match for over a year and that pains me I think the sign of a true fan is a love of the club no matter where they are in the table I still follow every score and I'm still extremely depressed when we lose which is to often! Agreed many fans are magpies if man united were relegated would all Asia still support them? I think not but my brother in law would he's a die hard united fan
Open ControlsGeeeeee Forza on what are you
Open Controls
I'm a Blackburn supporter since...errr....more than Forty years (that's as much as i'm saying)...A supporter in every sense, i've probably spent tens of thousands of pounds over the years. Seen it all, from the worst to the best and back again. We had hundreds hundreds of thousands of "supporters" at one time...so where are they now ?...now who do they support and why ?...Glory hunters is the right term for those who have now moved on...what else are they ?

Brilliant stuff
Open Controls"There may be people out there in real trouble who need our help and they have to wait because we are tied up with calls like this one, reporting a referee from the television".
yes, people like RvP who nearly died when someone kicked a ball at him.
or the ball boy who nearly died when Hazard kicked him.
it's a cruel world.Open Controls
If Ben Arfa plays vs Stoke on Sunday who do we think makes way for him in the Toon team?
Open ControlsBest replacement for Aguero, money not an issue? It will only be for a couple of weeks before I WC, my other strikers are RVP and Sturridge.
Team is linked, my other transfer I think will be Fellaini -> Sissoko.
Cheers everyone!Open ControlsSuarez-no brainer
Open ControlsI have Benteke so my mind is set on Lukaku at the minute...but it's probably just a 1 week thing. Other good options are Cisse and Remy depending on your budget.
Open Controlsoh and Lambert of course!

In honour of the passing of Hugo Chavez, I have had his initials inscribed onto my bathroom taps.
Open ControlsSorry for asking the question that has no doubt circulated a lot...but I've been away.
I take it there is zero chance of any of the other fixtures being rearranged in GW29?Open ControlsAfter being left out of the picture by SAF last night, Howard Webb is looking forward to a return to the Man United first 12 as they take on Chelsea in the FA cup this weekend.
Open ControlsAnyone thinking of having both Van P and Shrek for the Reading game?
Open ControlsBest course of action for me?
2 FTs and £2.9m.
Fede Bego
Davies Clyne Mariappa (Raf Zab)
Michu Bale Kebe* (Mata Walcott)
Suarez Fletcher Cisse
Thinking Raf->GJohnson
Other than that, should I:
A Mata -> Sissoko
B Kebe -> Sissoko
C Mata/Kebe -> Someone elseOpen ControlsB. Keep Mata and bench him

Still color blind I see.

Last night I lurked what's going on here....again this morning...and now again.
Just one question for all - how old are you?Open Controls23
Open Controlstought something like that 🙂
I remember when I was so fired up for 'my team is better than your team, this league is better than that league etc' talk.

There's an element of referred "observer effect" about these FFS articles. By inspecting gathered data about players they can actually affect our opinions - fair enough. We take action (transfers in/out) based on this data and so the attributes of the observed object (prices) are affected.
Open ControlsExcept the prices of FPL players bear no causative relation to FPL returns...
Open ControlsYes they do. Points affect transfers and transfers affect price.
Open ControlsI think you misundestood (or I didn't express it clearly).
A players real life actions (and therefore FPL points) are not effected by the actions of people buying or selling them on their FPL teams.Open Controls
Yea I agree, They have a bigger influence on many peoples decisions than the Scouts actually realise.
Open Controlsnah - nobody reads the articles 😉
Open ControlsI admit that I was very annoyed last season when I bought Siggy early on due to his amazing stats and FFS did an article about it!
Open ControlsMy point, probably not well made, has been picked up by Silver Surfer - these article affect player valuatuons. Watch Mata's value plummet.
Open ControlsThat's true. A lot of people accept what these articles say without question.
It's certainly a convenient approach if you're not that much of a hands on FPL player and just want a quick advantage over your rivals.Open Controls
Who wants to speculate about why Vertonghen has only scored two goals this season, despite his record?
Open ControlsThe awesomeness of the premier league has intimidated him
Open Controls
So I'm fecked then. I'm born in SA, I'm only allowed to support Dangerous Darkies and have only been to one football game in my life...Portugal beating Korea 7-0.

Since it's looking pretty clear that GW29 will stay blank for GW29, what's the latest on the rescheduling of the remaining blanks and potential GWs? I remember some people speculated GW35 and others GW30 or GW31. Would love to hear your predictions now that United are out of the CL!
Open ControlsAt last.
Open ControlsGW33 GW36. No euro midweek games.
Open ControlsGW31
I imagine City will want to play and win their game as quick as possible in order to try and exert pressure on Man Utd. But now United are out of the cup maybe they will also go game week 31
I've loaded up on United (form and fixtures) with cash to get City players if and when necessary.Open Controls
Not as far as I know 😯

Im beginning to wonder if we will ever get dates for the DGWs...

a) RvP and Sturridge
b) Rooney and Suarez
P.S Rvp and Suarez is not an option for all you smart arses 😛
I think b will likely score more, Rooney has matched RvP when they've both played. Suarez should outscore Danny and isn't injury proneOpen ControlsIs Hoilett a good option for the next 2 gameweeks, already have Sissoko - need a cheap midfielder to field 11, plan to WC soon anyway.
Open ControlsCould be a good differential.
Open Controls
'i suporting Inter sice 99 but i never seen them live
i know all their history and everything what is connected
am i glory hunter as well?'Open ControlsHi Guys
Looking at the next 2 weeks here so will need a few transfers.
Current team:
Feb, Bego
Mariappa, Martin R, Wilson (Zab, O'Brien)
Guthrie (won't play), Michu, Bale, (Walcott, Mata)
Lambert, Suarez (Giroud)
£6.9 in bank
OPtions:
1. Giroud + Guthrie-----> Benteke + Siss
next week Lambert -----> Rooney (cannot afford RVP)
2. Giroud + Guthrie-----> Remy + siss
next week Lambert + Mata-----> RVP + Lampard (4ph)
Any thoughts which is better move?
CheersOpen ControlsWhy does the site let posters troll on and on? I like some of the off topic stuff but some posters here seem only interested in posting nonsense.
Open Controlsummmm is my post 'nonsense' then and I am supposeldy a troll?
Asking perfectly reasonable questions and also posting replies to other questions. That's how it works.
What have you contributed other than your annoying comment?Open Controlsah. apologies then. You did reply under my post so I assumed it was aimed at me.

I think there's a difference between 'supporting' and being a 'fan'.
A supporter goes to the games and supports/cheers their team on.
A fan doesn't attend the games, but is a fan of (has a liking toward) that team.
A fan is less likely to put any/much money into that club whereas a supporter is more likely to buy match tickets, merchandise, food on the games etc.Open Controlsi kinnda agree with this one
Open Controls+1
I totally agree.Open ControlsA true fan regardless of whether he or she can get to their teams ground, eat drinks and sleeps their team, reads as many articles they can, gets totally anxious way before the game, and screams at the tv during the game, feels dejection when they lose, total elation when they win. Your club is married to you for life, and you can never get a divorce.

Fan is short for fanaticOpen Controls
Forca –
I can't see how location can have any influence on whether you're a glory hunter or not. What is the difference between someone who supports United from say India/Australia/USA etc and (using a quick google maps search 😉 ) Bolton?
They aren't THE local team but they aren't far away, but you support them because they're are a good team and are successful. So, if they go to the games etc, why does that make them not glory hunters but the people from overseas glory hunters?
Total and utter shite, imo. 😕Open ControlsForget it, see above. Forca is in "backtrack mode" again.
Open ControlsYou two should get back to watching the Perth Possums or whatever, you've no business poking your nosea into our league!
