    Wow -- watched some TV and just checked the site again: some really interesting thoughts on the captaincy question as well as a visit by the man himself. Also cool to read his humility on this topic and his rank overall.

    Loving the poker talk/analogies as well -- feel like there is something to it as far as game theory and risk is concerned. Loose/tight, passive v aggressive, these poker approaches do have some connection. Still not ready to chalk it up all to luck, however.

    If I'm on tomorrow, DZ draft will be on -- only 12 squads to choose from!

        This is exactly what I am doing, except I am getting Le Fondre instead of Remy. I will only play him one week and I'd rather bank the difference in the cash.

        You will have benching issue next week between Remy and Sissoko.

          just have to look at his pts per minute to see his threat
          Lukaku: mins=1281 pts= 104 pts per 90min = 7.3
          Lambert: mins=2260 pts= 143 pts per 90min =5.69

      for me i'm undecided if i should lose suarez, studge, or my giroud replacement next week (probably for rooney unless i ditch suarez). part of me is tempted to keep double pool as they've got great fixtures and they tend to do well vs the weaker teams

          He's fit. Coutinho probably benched but I'm hoping Brendan will fit him somewhere in CM ahead of Allen/Henderson. The lad is quick, nice eye for goal and already has developed an understanding with Suarez. Suarez and Sturridge already have a good understanding so if Coutinho tunes into both of them it could be top 6 for The Reds. Being very optimistic 😉

        Unfortunately LFC their defence is better than The Reds at the moment. If I was AVB I'd be telling Dawson and Vertonghen to kick lumps out of Suarez and get mouthy with him to try putting him off his game. Not nice but effective. Bale has a better temperament and Carra, if he starts, will be way too slow for him. Enrique and Glenner won't match him for pace either.

      Hey Pep. I know this was meant to Triggerlips, but I've not changed my mind from Suarez all week. His form is just as good as Bale - or at least close - and if you look at how many shots on goal Liverpool have been having at home lately, and factor in how many attempts Suarez has on an average day, he will have chances to score.

      I just don't trust a lot of the other 'differential' captain options this week.

        I totally agree. I even think that Suarez is in better form than Bale, if you can imagine that. I did the compare tool and he has even better stats than Bale. He also has a higher assist potential as well.

          I don't know what you put into the comparison tool - but i just did a comparison of their last 4 matches and Bale absolutely trounces Suarez on almost every single stat...

    How do we all feel about getting Bertrand out for a hit this week? It would take me up to -8, but would give me a full XI, and the added bonus of finally getting rid of Bertrand.

      Well, I do agree that if you are going to take a hit, this is the week to do it...what are your options, though? Spending 2 points for a defender doesn't feel great.

        This is my problem, I can't afford to get Debuchy or anyone in that range, so it would have to be Wilson, and I don't want to spend 4 points on having an extra defender away at Newcastle.

        I think I'll leave it, I'm sure that I will be able to get someone else in, and maybe even someone a bit better, in the next few weeks. Cheers Pep!

          Not worth it for Wilson. People here are enamoured with Wilson, but Stoke have been pants and I haven't heard anyone make a good argument as to why they will tighten up.

            I can cope for a couple of weeks with Bertrand, and upgrade him when the time is right. It's just the potential value for money with Wilson, but you're right, Harte is better value at the minute, Wilson is just getting 1 or 2 points every game since his return.

          Well, Spurs are tight but they did concede 2 against West Ham...one of the worst offensive teams in the league. I don't think Suarez will run riot, but can see him getting 8-9 points.

          If there is one thing I have learned this season, captain punts is not a good idea. Too much depends on your captain choice and with punts you are likely to oftentimes get a 2x2. Hence, I've gone for the most obvious captain choice everytime. GL indeed!

      Martin seems to have nailed down to the RB role and carries more attacking threat. I went for Turner a while ago and he has served me well. Can't see much of a difference between the two, to be honest. I'd go Martin.

    given i've got treble pool (suarez, studge, enrique), i'm a bit hesitant to captain suarez.... and for some reason I don't see too many goals in the game. 1-1 or 2-1 either way is how I can see it turning out

    bale or my giroud replacement (one of lambert lukaku or benteke) are my other captain options 😕

    For me this week is about Suarez vs Bale for captain.

    The fact Bale played last night and Suarez has had a weeks rest is the deciding factor. That being said, the fact that Sturridge is back goes against him. Although at home Suarez get's forward more than away, with Sturridge on the pitch, correct?

            fair enough. i'm just nervous as the last time I had this feeling/concern (walcott vs villa) it backfired terribly as I would have captained bale otherwise 🙁

    This post is directed at you because I know you both own Benteke.

    I own Suarez+Bale as well, but I think Benteke will outscore both this week.

    I don't even consider Benteke that much of a "punt" this week, as Zep said, because I expect it to be a tight game (Liv vs Spurs).

    Not trying to sway either of you, just stating Benteke has the highest potential to get the most points this week out of the three, imo.

      i hain't got benteke and with 3 strikers who should all play this week(suarez,sturridge and that waste of space fletcher) i can't really justify gettin him. but if i did he'd be my captain.
