One man’s personal battle to mastermind his beloved Fantasy Football team through extreme adversity steals the show in this week’s episode of the ScoutCast – and we’re not talking about Granville struggling with his BAFTA award-winning hangover.

Episode 99 has all the usual ingredients as we look back on Gamweek 28, rinse through the Gameweek 29 options, pop in to disturb the Professor and his Rate My Team computer, analyse the transfer ins and outs and, of course, give another community member the “Fully Jonty” treatment.

Jonty delivers a heart-warming and rather humbling account this week, emphasising just how far the dedicated Fantasy manager will go to steer his ship. Postponing your bedbath to play your Wildcard? You better believe it.

Enjoy our bedside manner via this link or drip-feed the medicine by using the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

In order if highest expected weekly scores...

      Silva – 10.78
      Aguero – 10.66
      Walcott – 10.53(DGW)
      RVP – 9.57
      Santi – 9.31(DGW)

Do people really trust it, seriously? I've never used it, but there was something similar last year (or maybe it was the year before?) that I looked at a couple of times out of curiosity, and tbh, I think a 'RMT tool' is a load of nonsense, personally.

Decent if looking at averages over the course of a series of weeks .. misleading if you're looking at it for one week in isolation, I'd suggest.

That's probably true, but, really, anyone should be able to tell which players 'should' score well over a 5-6 or so GW period just from looking at the fixtures.

    Hear me now.

I've come round to the idea that I should use my transfer to field 11 rather than saving it, it's basically free points.

    So, short term midfielder punts?

Who's going to score the most points short term other than Bale, Michu & Sissoko?

League position is crucial of course, but Benitez seems keen on Europe and nobody will want to be embarrassed against United. I think Benitez will want to pick up as much silverware as possible, so I'm wondering if Mata might drop out for WHM.

Consequently I'm thinking of dropping him myself...

He should stay to develop his understanding of playing in the hole. His positional play is sometimes still poor. At a bigger club he'll be stuck on the left and won't develop as quickly. He looks like Ronaldo 1 year before he left Man Utd.

Absolute world class talent. If the premiership lose him it will be very sad.

Poor finishing agreed. Don't fancy Mata at Home. He likes the space to get into the box and shoot. At home Chelsea tend to put crosses in more and shoot from further out.

Away he can be a beast. Put he's look jaded of late.

Can any QPR fans out there tell me what's happened to onuoha?

Seemed to get injured then fail to get back in the team.

Is he just out of favor? Any chance of playing this weekend?

Can you explain why 'arry deosn't play Fabio. He is the best defensive option for delivering crosses in open play and Remy is an absolute beast in the air.

Surely if QPR are to avoid the drop, this needs to be addressed?

Struggling to field a team this weekend, front 8 as follows

    Fellani marveaux bale michu walcott
    Rvp lambert suarez

So only 3 mids (one being marv who prob won't play) and 2 strikers. Whats my priority here? Been thinking fellani > snodgrass or coutinho? Wanted to bring someone in who had a few tidy fixtures over the next few weeks. Thanks for opinions

Ps I've got 4 defenders who go games this gw so 442 in probably my formation this gw

Probably won't be many in this situation, but is there anyone with both Sturridge and Bale but no Suarez and can't decide which one to captain?

It's a coin-toss between those at the moment in terms of potential.

I guess Bale has the edge due to form/fitness, but Sturridge has home advantage and is a big captaincy differential.

Any danger Sturridge won't play? There's the possibility that Rodgers will want to keep the same team, but Sturridge has been in great form too.

Lambert is an option but I can't justify captaining him over Bale.

Im in this boat mate. It s a choice between Sturridge, Bale, Taarabt and Michu for me. I was considering going for Taarabt but hes a doubt., then it was Sturr hes fit but could be benched., I dont see Bale doing much at Liverpool (mainly because i just bought him). Probably Michu for me.

    Kebe (fitness)
    Mata (form and blank)
    Aguero (fitness, form and blank)
    Sturridge (fitness)

I really want Sissoko, Benteke and Suarez. One of Benteke or Suarez can wait for a week I guess, but which one???

If you get Martin, how many times will you field him in the next few weeks? In other words, are you bringing him just for his good fixtures this week?

If you'll get to use him a few times before the end of the season, it's worth the transfer and better to keep Fellaini and do Mata & Shaw > Sissoko & Martin

Look at when you'd need to call on Martin/Wilson and whose fixture work better with your current team.

In my case, Martin would play quite a bit as he covers Wilson and Harte's poor fixtures really well.

I would - but only if it's a long term move you'd want to do anyway. Good chance for a keeper to score at least 3 points with saves, so 1 or 2 points (with a chance for more) for what is effectively an extra transfer seems like a good deal.

Tempted to switch mata to N'zog.

It's a 4 pt hit, but I'd expect him to score that much or more against Reading.

Mata is down in returned points, dropping like a stone in price, and as always subject to rotation.

The extra cash would allow me to switch Sturridge to Rooney for next weeks match if I chose to.

Not sure I want to do that, but nice to have the option.

    So.

If he's not bringing him back in, it's a viable strategy. Frees up a move next week to strengthen elsewhere, I don't think it's madness. And if Zog scores 4, it's paid itself off. And even if he doesn't, it still works if Rooney outscore Mata/Sturridge. But if Mata comes back in then you're relying on Zog getting 8 to break even.
