As tomorrow’s deadline edges ever-closer, Fantasy managers are turning to a couple of bustling Belgians in their droves as we attempt to ride out a tricky six-match Gameweek. Second and third for forwards in terms of transfers in so far, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke both look strong mid-price options with games against Swansea and Reading respectively. With five goals apiece in their last six appearances, the duo have been in prolific form of late – we cast an eye over their statistics in this latest article for members:

The Battle of Belgium.

If it helps add an extra angle, I would get Benteke for the long term and Lukaku for the short term.
Benteke will have something to play for right up until the end of the season whereas Lukaku will be still fighting with Long and West Brom can rest on their laurels. For this week only though I fancy Lukaku.Open Controls-
Against Swansea? They have conceded only 9 away goals all season (Livepool game excluded).

and Remy?

What about REMY??
Open Controls -
I haven't read the article yet, but does the picture give it away? 😀
Open Controls-
I would say the article is very helpful but not conclusive. You could support either choice based on this article.

Let's put it to a real life vote. If your club could own one of Benteke or Lukaku, who would you choose and why?
Open Controls-
lukaku, 100kg
Open Controls -
Lukaku. Because he would finish all the fecking chances that I create for the other numpties!!! 😉
Open Controls -
both, if your club is the belguim national squad.
Open Controls-
Thanks for your valuable opinion 😉
Open Controls-
🙂
lukaku is probably a better long term prospect.Open Controls-
Next season will be interesting. Lukaku will be up front for Chelsea and Benteke will be up front for Arsenal.

Yup I was right, didn't tell me anything i didn't already know, and offered no help 😆 Remy needs to be thrown into the mix as well.
Open Controls-
remy has significantly worse stats. also plays more on the wing.
if it was not for his price tag i dont think he would be a real alternative.Open Controls

Is it worth taking a hit to do Demel and Fellaini to Nzogbia and Santon/debuchy for (-4)? This would allow me to field 11. Otherwise Fellaini-->Nzogbia and i'd play with 9 and a goalkeeper.

good article. not sure it made it any easier to choose one thou!

hence my comment. the good thing is that there are no simple answers in this article - but a lot of usefull info to help you form your OWN opinion.

Indeed. I just wish I could share my opinion that I formed with you....

Cut and paste the article in your reply. Job done. I kid, I kid.
I think it's great that there is such a split between Lukaku and Benteke.
I've picked Lukaku purely based on the fact that Benteke is so obvious.
How often has the obvious choice stung you with 2 points?Open Controls

The Belgian national team is going to be a powerhouse in a few years. So many young players with huge potential.

There's no room for either in a top heavy RVP-Suarez 3-5-2.

REPOST
Alright guys, How am i looking for the weekend feilding 10
Foster
Davies Debuchy Wilson (Clichy Demel)
Taarabt Punch Bale Michu(vc) (mata)
Sturr(c) Benteke (VP)
Will ship Taarabt to Nani/Kags/Walcott next week.Open Controls-
It's a solid 10 full of starters.
Taraabt is perhaps a small concern but you're right to ship him. His stats flatter to deceive and he is just not producing. Walcott for me btw.Open Controls-
Im worried about Taarabt and Punch but i guess youre right.
If i have no pressing transfers i could go a one week punt on Nani and then ship him to Wally the following week but ill wait and see.Open Controls

Actually if we think about it, Lukaku has a better chance at bagging points since theres nobody to take away his points while Bentekkers has Nzogbia that could steal his thunder. Just saying. Still prefer Benteke tho!
Open Controls-
Benteke is clearly the focal point of our team. N'Zogbia may be fairly decent value but he's not going to be getting bigger scores than Benteke. We also have nobody else.

Is barfa a better option than sissoko?
Open Controls-
you might want him to complete a game first...
Open Controls -
When he is back to full fitness yes, give him one more game then look at him - I've just bought in Sissoko for a 1 week punt, I think when HBA come's back he'll play behind Cisse and Sissoko will move further back where he is more established, although in fairness he has clearly done very well in that position so who knows..
Open Controls-
I belive that Ben Arfa will be back at right wing and that Sissoko will continue to play behind the forward. If you love Sissoko further back you will have to remove one of Tiote or Cabaye.

Thanks.

I am afraid that I now always ignore the first two paragraphs of these - and move straight to goal threat ...
Open Controls -
Great article. Lukaku's stats in a limited amount of minutes are truly impressive. Imagine if he nails down a starting role for Chelsea next year with Oscar, Mata, and Hazard creating behind him. He could be a monster.
I think I'll be having both this week and then kicking one out for RvP next week.Open Controls-
can;t justify -8 for that when I'll be taking out a starter sadly. So it has to be one or the other.
Open Controls-
What your thoughts from the article then?
Are you looking purely next 2 matches?
My gut still says Benteke as Reading are terrible and Swansea are pretty tight away from home.Open Controls-
Looking to have 1 or the other until at least GW33 i think, will likely lose them when the doubles come around
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
Well, it depends on who the manager is, I suppose. But regardless of a 'system', having three creating players behind a monster of a forward should lead to good things 😀
Open Controls -
^This – just like Ba.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Hmmmm I was set on Benteke.
I prefer Lukaku long term, but with fixtures, surely over next 2 matches Benteke looks better bet?Open Controls-
it;s this week that sways me atm, Reading are a shambles at the back atm.
Open Controls -
With all the DGWs coming up, there could be a lot of transfer activity in this 3rd striker spot. I wouldn't be looking very long term. If Berba, Ba, Giroud or Dzecko have DGW then you might want them in for whoever you pick now. Might be worth going with the more expensive option (Benteke) just to make it easier to get any 3rd-striker-priced DGW striker in when you need them. I can't separate Benteke and Lukaku any other way. And that's before thinking about Lambert, Remy or Sturridge.
Open Controls
-
-
Do I take a 4 point hit to get Debuchy and Sissoko in for Demel and Fellani/ Mata in order to field 11 and play a 5-3-2 formation or just put Sissoko in and field 10?
Either way, who to take out, Mata or Fellani?Open Controls-
Mata, imo. Most others go the other way.
Open Controls
-
-
With all the DGWs, I'd think about this long term. Villa are heavily reliant on Benteke, and given that we'll be relegated on the last day, he could score very well. Villa will need him to, anyway.
Open Controls-
Thinking the same - his sheer dominance of their shots is very tempting. His penalties alone are worth a bunch of points, I've been holding off him so far and see he nets a bloody pen.
Open Controls-
(Lukaku has penalties too I think but doesn't seem to have benefited quite as much from them)

I see in the watchlist and on the podcast the scouts seem to think Liverpool will have a problem starting Sturridge, Coutinho and Gerrard together - surely they've already done that in the 5-0 win over Swansea?
---------Sturridge
Coutinho--Suarez--Downing/Sterling...
-----Lucas GerrardOpen Controls-
Long term – definitely
Against Spurs – I'm not so sure. Rodgers might stick with the 4-3-3 to add that extra body in midfield to try and shackle Bale. All speculation though.Open Controls-
Yeah, there's always the risk of tactical tweaks by Rodgers, but the above looks like the default formation eh?
If he went 4-3-3 I guess that would mean Henderson coming in as the most advanced midfielder, Suarez going left and Coutinho possibly missing out? Not sure it's that much more solid than 4-2-3-1 or even positionally that much different...Open Controls-
Or I suppose Suarez playing CF as he has all season to great effect, Coutinho staying left and Sturridge missing out... but Sturridge seems like a big part of their plan.
Open Controls -
One of Allen or Henderson for sure if he sticks with the 4-3-3.
It's basically Allen/Henderson vs Coutinho and I know which of those is more solid defensively!
I agree with Phil.lfc's line-up below as our main formation for the remainder of the season.Open Controls-
Yeah. My take on the Bale situation is that you're choosing between two alternative ways to play him... I've marked roughly where I think Bale will be playing:
----------------Sturridge
Coutinho----Suarez----Downing
--------Lucas---Gerrard (BALE)
JE----Agger----Carra----GJ
or
-------Suarez Sturridge Downing
----------Henderson Gerrard
---------------Lucas (BALE)
JE----Agger----Carra----GJ
I'd prefer the first one; I think two holding midfielders will do a better job together of trying to shackle him. Suarez presses well up the pitch and could help cut off the supply to Bale. In the latter, you're counting on Henderson and Gerrard to press up the pitch together, not sure they're suited, and there's a risk of Lucas becoming exposed.Open Controls
-
-

-
swansea's B team is not TOT.
Open Controls -
pretty sure it will be:
GJ ---- Carra --- Agger --- JE
--------Lucas --- Gerrard--------
Downing - Suarez - Coutinho
---------------Sturridge-------------Open Controls-
Yeah it looks pretty plausible for the foreseeable.

First post here. Can anybody help me? Here's my team for this week.
federici
rangel-martin-johnson-harte
sissoko-michu-bale
benteke(c)-lambert-suarez
subs: juskelainaan-walcott-mata-dawson
my questions are:
a). federici's injured. should i do federici->bunn
b). or keep federici and trade to ddg for upcoming gameweeks?Open Controls -
-
Zab & Shaw -> Samba & Debuchy (not hit)
Gives me 11 pretty nailed on starters for this week. Good move?Open Controls -
Afternoon all. Hopelessly unprepared for the gw so am in need of some helpful guidance. Currently fielding just 8 with 1 FT, as follows:
Bunn
Pearce Clyne Davies
Sissoko Bale
Suarez Lambert
(DDG, Azpil, Zaba, Mata, Felaini, Walcott, RVP)
Fairly generic team I guess but I am nervous about swapping out any of my bench.
0.4m banked, suggestions welcomed and appreciated.Open Controls -
Worth using my FT to do Mata - Sissoko this week?
Bunn (Bego)
Davies Harte Clyne Wilson (Zab)
Bale Michu Puncheon (Walcott) (Mata)
Suarez Sturridge (RVP)
Would then probably reverse the move next week.Open Controls-
It makes sense to me; gives you a full team, so nothing to gain by saving the transfer IMO.
Open Controls
-
Is Suarez going to get much this weekend? Tottenham are pretty solid and I feel like Im chasing last weeks points by bringing him in, and there is far more potential in Benteke or Lukaka. If Sturridge starts surely that has got to dent his output a little too, I doubt he would of got the hat trick last week if Sturridge was fit. The only thing that is swaying me towards Suarez is its a long term transfer as I have other issues in my team I need to address. Can anyone help me? as you can see this ones driving me mad!! Cheers.
Open Controls-
i think suarez has proven that he is a season keeper. top scorer in league. so since its a long term move i think you should make it.
most will captain him and if he explodes again, you will feel like shiteeeOpen Controls -
G Neville highlighted that Spurs were actually caught square a few times defensively last week vs Arsenal but Arsenal failed to pick the pass. The same happened again last night vs Inter at least twice but weren't punished.
Add to that Liverpool are strong at home and it's enough to convince me that Suarez is a decent captain pick.
If I were bringing in EITHER Suarez or Sturridge now, it would depend entirely on what I would be using the extra money for and who my rivals had. Suarez if money is no issue.Open Controls -
Cheers guys. All my rivals have Suarez, if I resort to Sturridge it means I can get Mata back easily, instead of relying on Sissoko for the next 2-3 weeks. What do you reckon?
Open Controls-

🙂 I wont hold it against you, like the Demel advice that time!!
Open Controls

Chelsea seem totally off form at the moment, but the fixtures do look like a perfect for them to change that. Cheers Hec, guess I need have a think and make the choice later. Good thing is most of my rivals dont have Mata if I take the Suarez option.
Open Controls-
go for suarez, cancel out your rivals stress free and get them in other ways
