A trio of Newcastle players register some impressive attacking statistics as we sift through the data from the Gameweek gone by. Romelu Lukaku’s consistent goal threat earns the West Brom forward a place in the top 10 of our ICT rankings, while we take a look at some stand-out stats from midfield in our latest article for members. Our members can examine all the numbers from the weekend action via our tables, charts and maps but, as always, we’ve handpicked the numbers that have grabbed our attention across the six fixtures played out.

Rooney or RVP a must for this GW?
Open ControlsDepends on if they have a game the week after.
Open ControlsMight have a blank the next week so people are unsure, for me though yes
Open ControlsIndeed but which one?? I'd be keen to hear from non owners to avoid subjectivity. As a non owner myself I'm pondering Rooney to allow me more money to invest elsewhere.
Open ControlsSame boat as me, Lanley.
The difference in cost will make quite a difference to what other DGW players you can afford: could be the difference between 1 Arsenal attacker and 2, for example.
Also, the elephant in the room is that Rooney is actually out-performing Robin at the moment, and has been doing so for a few weeks.Open ControlsI have both, so hopefully I can be subjective too. Mind you, I have both because I don't know who I would cut if I didn't; so I'm not going to be terribly helpful here. It would presumably come down to price, so I vote Rooney.
Open ControlsI'd rather have RVP over Rooney for the same reason I'd rather have Suarez over Sturridge, Bale over Lennon, Fellaini over Pienaar, etc.
Open Controls
From my midfield of Santi, Maloney, Walcott, Snodgrass and Sissoko I need to start 4 of them and Maloney+Sissoko seemed prettty nailed on to me so it comes down to playing both the arsenal players or just the one and have Snoddy playing... What do you guys think would be sensible?

So, if United's game against Sunderland were to be put back, would anyone still want to get RVP or Rooney in, or just watch the United v Reading game from behind the sofa?
Open ControlsIf I didn't have either of them and that game too was postponed I think I'd save the transfer. (I do own RVP though....)
Open Controls
Cameron > ?
a) Wilson
b) FigueroaOpen ControlsJust wana get my thoughts out there on the RVP/Rooney situation and see what you guys think. I’ll start off by saying the stats I’ve seen suggest the 2 will be very close points wise over the next 8 games.
+for RVP :
1) Going for the golden boot so may be less likely to face rotation or come off early in the easy games
2) 2nd top goal scorer this season so the skill are there and was top last season
3) Leads the line of the best team in world football. True story.
4) On Pens
- for RVP:
1) Bang off form. Had 1 goal in his last 5 league games(way more if you include the cup games)
2) Around this time last season he went on a bit of a barren run and never really recaptured his early season form
3) He costs an arm and a leg
4) High ownership so won’t really help me in my chase for top spot.
+ Rooney
1) Would allow major upgrades in my team with his cheaper price
2) In decent goal scoring form
3) Proven goal scorer and outside injures hasn’t faced too much rotation
4) Would allow me to do Fellaini -> Hazard (Main reason why I’m considering my options)
-Rooney
1) had had a few injuries this season so is a risk of missing the odd game
2) Tends to drop into Midfield in away games which hurts his goal threat quite a bit
3) Was dropped in the biggest game of the season for tactical reasons so may not have the managers full trust right now.
4) Has a tendency to grow manboobz and Fergi hates that
Which are you guys going for and why if possible? Thanks.Open ControlsI stopped at 3), lol'ed, and did not finish the rest 🙂
Open ControlsI thought you were adding 'off penalties now, so no more -2s for missing them' to Rooney's list of pluses?
Open ControlsTo offence but these positive negative articles on Rooney vs RVP are a complete bore pick whoever you want dont feel the need to logically justify the decision or convinve others.
Open ControlsMark/Granville, can we get a saucer of milk over here please? 😉
Open ControlsNo offence, but what sort of comments do you prefer? This is a site for discussing fantasy football issues, and for a lot of people this will be one of the major issues this week!
I may be biased, because I am one of those people...Open ControlsThey're not written to convince others - they are written in order to convince the author.
Open ControlsYou don't wanna use logic/stats to help with fpl picks?
Open ControlsWhats the stats and logic?
Went on a barren run last year...as far as on pens has he even hit one for United? Maybe im wrong on that like.
It boils down to convincing yourself your getting the same quality and cash in the pocket but anyone could tell you if its too good to be true then it often is.Open ControlsGuess you missed mu first point that the stats say they should be very close point wises from for the next 8 weeks? He has scored a pen for united vs Liverpool which was a pretty big game.
I'm not sure you even read my post. M point isn't that Rooney = RVP. My point is that RVP isn't that far ahead off Rooney to justify to extra cost which would prevent my from doing Fellaini -> Hazard. So if short RVP and Fellaini vs Rooney and Hazard. Understand now? Want me to spell it out more for you?Open ControlsLook I thought it was a poor article with a lot of opinion but very little substance.
The long and short of it is even in proper statistical analysis the comparison includes RVP in a slight slump if his form changes in the coming weeks it blows all these positive and negatives out of the water. And then he would be far enough ahead to justify the extra money.Open ControlsFar enough. There was a ton of opinnon in there and whether or not they have substance is subjective. I'm really desperate to not make a mistake on this so I put some thoughts out there in hope to garner a few more. I mean this has gotta be better than the standard 'Pick 1' posts right?
Open ControlsHe is pure quality and that outlasts form.
Surely the difficult thing, however, is to decide what percentage of chances an elite forward like van Persie should:
1) get on target
2) score from
as he needs to be way out of the ball mark of normal returns on chances to justify his price tag.
Under such circumstances what kind of 'dip' in form can you justifiably tolerate?Open Controls
Getting Rooney is an extremely brave move in my opinion though fortune could favour the brave.
I look at my team I want the RVPs, Bales, Suarez level players.
Money in the tin would be a great assest for the forthcoming doubles though id probably feel very exposed without RVP.Open Controls
If you're chasing then Rooney and Hazard would be great picks potentially, I'm trying to defend a lead so going with RVP for reasons above.
Open ControlsBest team in the world? RVP went AWOL v Real, pressure of United's expectation of league and CL getting to him.Fergie won't play him if he doesn't think he should, golden boot won't affect his decision. If he gets back to form then he's worth getting.
Rooney, well used to the big occasion and used to performing in the big games.Form is good but not the Rooney of old.
Here's a point you don't make, I think it's relevant:
Both play for United so they share attacking FF points.Suarez, Michu, Bale and to a lesser extent Lambert, Benteke, Lukaku get the bulk of their teams attacking points. At United it's split between RVP, Rooney, Welbeck, Nani, Kagawa etc. And the odd-time RVPOpen ControlsThat part was an OBV JOKE that most Man U haters are missing. I didn't make that point as it has no baring on the current decision that needs a resolution. I currently have Bale, Suarez etc. I don't have any Man U attacking coverage and would like some. I'm trying to Logically make the best pick I can and these 2 are the pick of the bunch.
Open ControlsJust cos I'm a Liverpool supporter, don't wrongly assume I'm an ABU. I think they're a great team. A big fan of Rooney but the player I really like, though he's poor this season, is Valencia a class act. I sold Van Persie last week, I'd choose him over Rooney purely cos he's more nailed-on.
Open Controls
You really think Fergie is going to let Suarez get the golden boot???
Open ControlsI don't think Fergie got where he is by playing out-of-form players looking for an award to put on their mantlepiece.
Open Controls
Rvp for me - I really feel he will explode and in my mind there is more rotation risk with Rooney.
Btw nice read - I hate when people on here knock a persons view for the sake of it , keep up the good work.Open Controls+1

Please rate my team.
De Gea and Suarez for Begovic and Sturridge. 3.3m in bank.
Surfer Rosa :
De Gea
Scharner, Debuchy, Dawson
Sissoko, Bale, Michu, Mata, Walcott
Cisse, Suarez
Federici, Lukaku, Martin, DaviesOpen ControlsCertainly looks in fine shape for this week. I can't even suggest that you get any United attacking cover in until further notice. You don't fancy Lukaku against a leaky Stoke though?
Open Controls
Got a feeling Hazard will put in a great performance against West Ham. Already have Mata Lampsy would i be silly in swapping one out for Hazard? both been pretty awful of late.
Open Controlsok fine, did u watch him yesterday? does that tell u something?

Looks good to me!Open ControlsLampard (WHU) to start over Sess (NOR) is a sure thing right? Santon (wig) over Wilson (WHU)?
Open ControlsYes Lampard over Sess, are you crazy? 🙂
Open ControlsJust making sure. Is Norwich any good at home though? Lamps hasn't scored in a little while too and although I haven't watched Sund in a long time, I've heard around here that Sess has been in good form, thus making this decision closer.
Open ControlsYou have to play lampard against his old team and at home on pens and having loads of shots per game etc. Only need a few more to be Chelsea's top ever goal scorer.
Open Controls
Wondering why you got Sess if you didn't plan on playing this week but yes I'd play Lampard over him. Wilson over Santon imo.
Open Controls
Just getting this out of the way so I don't have to look at my awful drop in rank this week.
Good to save a transfer this week? Play Michu or N'Zogbia?
De Gea
Wilson Evra Davies
Mata Sessegnon Bale Michu/N'Zogbia
RVP(C) Suarez Lukaku
Federici Michu/N'Zogbia Demel MariappaOpen ControlsAny ideas when Ruddy GK for Norwich is set to make a return? Bunn has been top-notch. I would let him finish out the year strong.
Open ControlsHave to go back to the fall of 2006 to find the last time RvP started four league games in a row and did not score.
Open ControlsWhat the frick has happened to City this season? Even Mr.Reliables Kompany and Hart have had their shaky patches. Trouble in the dressing room?
Open ControlsRooney V RVP ...some stats for consideration...filtered on last six.
http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/2058/Open ControlsThat extra two million can go along way especially for a dgwk heavy hitter in midfield.
Open ControlsI think this might be what swings it for me Jonty... The complicating factor is: I have a H2H which I could really do with winning vs someone who has RVP this week.
But yeah, long-term, if it's the difference between being able to have Walcott, Cazorla and Fellaini in GW33, or having to sacrifice one of them. It sort of makes sense.Open ControlsSounds like someone else broke up their Power 5 as well. We had no choice, hope you had better luck than I.

Open ControlsWouldn't count on that.
Open Controls
Guys, Lambert's price likely to fall tonight? Currently he's at -60% but total fpl doesn't give net target like fiso was giving so couldn't calculate his transfer rate.. Is he likely to go down tonight?
Open ControlsNot as daft as you'd first think. The thing against him is no DGW
Open Controlswho are the likely DGW teams at this stage for GW 33?
Open ControlsHe might have a DGW in the future with a respective blank in GW33.
Open Controls
I can't decide the most pressing transfer:
A) Zabaleta for a cheap defender (I have a weak defence other than Baines)
B) Rooney for Sturridge (Have Sturridge, Suarez and Gerrard in my team)Open ControlsB, as a Sturridge owner I'd say he has bad juju.
Open Controls
The curious case of Robin Van Persie.
Would you take a hit to get him in? Looking at Lambert & Distan to RVP & £3.9 defender Wilson?
But i have a fairly strong side for the weekend. see linked.
To hit or to save a transfer?Open Controlsdo it! have to captain RVP then. distin is poor choice so no brainer for me
Open ControlsPeople who own him keep advising to get him in, even for hits. As someone who can afford either him or Rooney I don't think it's that straight forward... a definite chance of a United blank soon as well.
Reading will park the bus at OT.Open Controls
Why is Wigan vs Swansea is blank in GW33? Will City and MU/Chelsea match also blank in that gameweek?
Open ControlsSzczesny instead of DDG?
Less risk of any upcoming blanks and a definite DGW in 33.Open ControlsDoes Granville know about this outfit? http://www.therage.com.au/
