Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany both remain on the sidelines as City make their way to Goodison tomorrow lunchtime. Nani has failed to recover from the hamstring problem that forced him out of last Sunday’s FA Cup draw with Chelsea, while Phil Jones is also out for United’s home game with Reading tomorrow evening.

Alan Pardew has been dealt a bitter blow, with Hatem Ben Arfa set to be ruled out for the season – the winger requires surgery on his ongoing hamstring injury. Yohan Cabaye has “half a chance” of making the Magpies’ trip to Wigan on Sunday, after he was subbed off with a recurrence of a groin problem in last night’s Europa League win over Anzhi.

Adel Taarabt has recovered from the knock that kept him out of last weekend’s win over Sunderland, while Harry Redknapp is optimistic that both Julio Cesar and Armand Traore will be available to return for a crucial trip to Villa Park after reporting “a fairly clean bill of health” in this morning’s press conference.

Sam Allardyce has real doubts over midfield duoe Mark Noble and Kevin Nolan as the Hammers make their way to Stamford Bridge, Matt Taylor has returned to training and could make the squad, though Joe Cole misses out against his former club. George McCartney could be named in Sunday’s squad if he completes a 45 minute run out for the Under 21 side today without any problems.

Anthony Pilkington is out for “two to three weeks” with a hamstring problem for Norwich, while Chris Hughton gave Fantasy managers a heads-up after he revealed he hopes to have John Ruddy back for the end of the month.

This and the rest of the day’s news have been collected for you in our team news section, where you’ll find our current predicted lineups for the weekend matches.

Might as well do it now if there's no other pressing issues, DDG will probably get a lot more points than Bego for the rest of the season, DGW coming up also.

Lukaku has gotten bonus, an assist, or scored every time he's started except for when he only played 51 minutes against Spurs. I really don't want to sell him. But Sturridge's stats/fixtures are so good. And Suarez is kind of a force of nature. 🙁 This week would have been so much easier if United weren't playing Reading...

RVP. Not sure how this one is even a debate - Rooney doesn't give a crap, he's a fatty, was woeful for about 55 minutes against Norwich and for me, he is showing all the signs of a player with a diminishing appetite for the game. I don think Rooney will get points if he plays but RVP over him any day for me.

I'd say borderline crazy. I don't think it will be 1-0 tbh. But no United cover isn't a bad idea if you're planning on bringing someone like Ashley young, Carrick, etc...RVP, Rooney, and possibly Kags only United attack cover for me.

I think the fact that everyone in my ML has RVP is forcing my hand.

I made up so much ground by doing RVP > Suarez 2 weeks ago and don't want to throw away my good progress.

Don't rate Norwich away from home, usually double up on Norwich at home and bench both when away. Keppers are Bunn and Begovic. But who would you bench for Turner then?

I would go with the three you're playing!

I don't know if Samba will get a cleanie but he could easily get attacking returns. Fancy there could be goals in that one

they certainly play more defensively away...i think id play turner over samba as hes a bonus magnet anyway and benteke can score against any team, whereas sunderland never really inspire attacking confidence.....

If City win the early kick-off you can be sure he will unleash his best lineup on Reading. Actually the same goes if City lose, nothing like cementing top spot and a possible goal fest to boost the morale going into a 2 week league break.

        3 reasons

        1) I believe they will score roughly equally, and Rooney is cheaper (when they play together Roon tends to score higher)

        2) Despite what people think there is more chance of RvP sitting tomorrow out than Rooney. Rooney needs games to get his fitness back, RvP is knackered, though I fully expect both to start

        3) Price - Rooney allows me greater flexibility in my DGW transfers

You have great reasons. I am definitely going to take your logic to my committee before they make a decision on who to transfer in this weekend. Point number 3, DGW flexibility, is the most intriguing argument. I would love the extra cash to throw around then!
