I wonder will Puncheon ever regain his place this season?
I can see how he's being kept out because Rodriguez's form is quite good. And with Lallana being captain he probably will always be in first XI. So then you have a fight between him and Ramirez for that extra spot. And Ramirez is the big money signing and probably liked by Pochettino because of the flair he offers.
It's a frustrating scenario as Puncheon was offering insane value and I don't think Schneiderlin is really in the same league for the stats that Puncheon was consistently showing. That said he's a handy 5th mid.
I looked at a graph on Chris Glover's site and saw that over the season Puncheon had been averaging as many SIB(shots in the box) as Lambert over the season, both home AND away. Which is remarkable for a midfielder.
He just signed a new contract but I'm afraid it looks ominous. He may stay down the pecking order, which is unfortunate for us Puncheon owners. Only an injury or a dip in form from Rodriguez/Ramirez may see him regain his place I would imagiOpen Controlsimagine.
