I have a hard time believing Gibbs will take any playing time from Monreal. I think they are miles apart in class. But it seems most are saying Mert is the only "nailed on" Arsenal defender. Does anyone think Monreal is under threat from Gibbs with a battle for Champions League spots on?

I would say Monreal will play a lot more minutes than Gibbs from here til the end of the season as he has done nothing but impress. Gibbs is injury prone and they may try to protect him. I still feel Gibbs will get minutes and maybe start the odd game if there is a run of a few games in a few days. At least that's the worry about a punt on Monreal.

Gibbs was great for us this season when fit, the good thing for Monreal is, he rarely stays fit.

I just think Monreal is far better. But I appreciate you guys probably have seen Gibbs more than I and if he is that well regarded, perhaps I will look elsewhere. Cheers.
