Christian Benteke inspires a superb display of attacking football from Villa that blows away a bewildered Black Cats, dragging them into the relegation scrap as Stephane Sessegnon sees red. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday night’s events.

On the Up

Christian Benteke
A stunning hat-trick from the hugely impressive Belgian forever scribed his name in Villa folklore and left his faithful Fantasy owners beaming. Benteke has arguably been the signing of the season, registering 18 goals that have almost single-handedly kept Villa afloat. His consistency in a struggling side is quite extraordinary: Benteke has now struck 13 goals in his last 15 league starts, returning incredible value having started the season priced at just 6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Matt Lowton
While Benteke will, quite rightly, take the plaudits, Lowton’s recent performances from right-back deserve recognition. Tonight’s assist was his third in six league matches, a spell which also brought that stunning strike in the 3-1 win at Stoke. Villa’s survival this season will assure Lowton of a place on our pre-season watchlist for next term.

Gabby Agbonlahor
Whilst, inevitably playing second fiddle to the mighty Benteke, Agbonlahor has produced some stunning recent form that have boosted Villa and directly translated into hefty Fantasy profit. Tonight’s goal and brace of assists ensured that Agbonlahor has returned attacking points in five of his last six starts, with four goals and three assists in that spell.

Going Down

Stephane Sessegnon
A straight red for violent conduct brought the Benin international’s recent run of form to an abrupt end and was perhaps the biggest blow to Sunderland on a miserable evening. The spark in Sunderland’s recent revival under Paolo Di Canio, unless there is a successful appeal, Sessegnon will miss the remainder of the season. His Fantasy owners will now be pushed to get rid to swap for double Gamweek assets, while Di Canio will have to hope that he has the attacking resources to compensate for the loss.

Simon Mignolet
Di Canio’s rearguard simply had no answer to the pace and industry of Villa’s flanking forwards, whilst they buckled under the presence of Benteke. Having kept back-to-back clean sheets, tonight’s damaging defeat is ill-timed. Sunderland could yet be lured into the relegation scrap, although with home fixtures against Stoke and Southampton to come, Mignolet and his defence have the opportunity to rediscover their resolve.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bale Walcott Michu Fellaini
    RVP Benteke Tevez

Thinking RVP, Rafael and Fellaini - > Aguero, Zabaleta and Hazard/Mata for an 8pointer.

Yeah I've already spent 4 points, just trying to weigh it up in my head. I guess it doesn't matter how many hits you take provided the change being made compensates the 4 points lost. Luiz has previous with United so I'm extremely tempted.

See I my case I don't have much in the bank, best I could afford would be Boyce. If you can get Luiz it might be worth it...still a bit of a 50/50.

It would be a case of ridding of Rafael for Luiz (perhaps sensible given rotation risk from hereon in) and then benching Davies.

But that's WHY I want to get both, my theory is that 1 of Tevez/Aguero will be rested against West Brom, and then 1 of Tevez/Aguero will probably be rested against Reading. If I go with only Tevez and he's the one that gets more rests while Aguero clocks in, I'll be fuming.

I'm really talking myself into Kone. His stats were really good against Spurs (4 shots, 3 on target I think) and it's not a coincidence that he was very productive a couple weeks ago when the fixtures were good. Other than maybe @ QPR, none of the last 4 fixtures have been "easy." Explosion imminent.

      Walcott.

The first fixture of the DGW has to be the main priority, considering that things like injuries/rotation/whatever could bite between the 2 games, and you can't do anything to change your decision between the 2 games.

And with Walcott playing QPR I sure fancy him above Hazard against United

One note on Hazard that I've just sort of realized is if Chelsea move on in Europe and take care of business against United and Spurs is that game against Villa is going to be rotation hell. On the other hand, if Chelsea drop points against United and Spurs that game against Villa looks potentially tasty.

I did Fellaini > Mata already, but I know that doesn't help you. Let me ask you this - do you already have a planned transfer for next week, i.e. have you earmarked to bring in Sturridge or someone else? If that's the case, then I wouldn't bring in someone you wouldn't want to keep, i.e. Hazard if you already have mata. Walcott may be your best bet.

Ok, I'm trailing someone by 60 points, do I have any chance?

    Here is my team

    ddg/gazzaniga
    CLICHY, ~BERTRAND, martin, demel, jenkinson
    MATA, HAZARD, BALE, MICHU, puncheon
    TEVEZ, ~DZEKO, rvp
    .8 in bank, 1ft

this is my opponents team: http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e291/John_Cena24/fantasydoublegameweek.jpg

Question 1: What is my best move this week?
Question 2: Because I'm 60 pts behind, I have to captain someone other than bale this week, right? If so, who?
Question 3: Do I have to get rid of ddg and rvp at some point? who would be the best replacements other than aguero and hart (who my opponent has)
