Christian Benteke inspires a superb display of attacking football from Villa that blows away a bewildered Black Cats, dragging them into the relegation scrap as Stephane Sessegnon sees red. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday night’s events.

On the Up

Christian Benteke
A stunning hat-trick from the hugely impressive Belgian forever scribed his name in Villa folklore and left his faithful Fantasy owners beaming. Benteke has arguably been the signing of the season, registering 18 goals that have almost single-handedly kept Villa afloat. His consistency in a struggling side is quite extraordinary: Benteke has now struck 13 goals in his last 15 league starts, returning incredible value having started the season priced at just 6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Matt Lowton
While Benteke will, quite rightly, take the plaudits, Lowton’s recent performances from right-back deserve recognition. Tonight’s assist was his third in six league matches, a spell which also brought that stunning strike in the 3-1 win at Stoke. Villa’s survival this season will assure Lowton of a place on our pre-season watchlist for next term.

Gabby Agbonlahor
Whilst, inevitably playing second fiddle to the mighty Benteke, Agbonlahor has produced some stunning recent form that have boosted Villa and directly translated into hefty Fantasy profit. Tonight’s goal and brace of assists ensured that Agbonlahor has returned attacking points in five of his last six starts, with four goals and three assists in that spell.

Going Down

Stephane Sessegnon
A straight red for violent conduct brought the Benin international’s recent run of form to an abrupt end and was perhaps the biggest blow to Sunderland on a miserable evening. The spark in Sunderland’s recent revival under Paolo Di Canio, unless there is a successful appeal, Sessegnon will miss the remainder of the season. His Fantasy owners will now be pushed to get rid to swap for double Gamweek assets, while Di Canio will have to hope that he has the attacking resources to compensate for the loss.

Simon Mignolet
Di Canio’s rearguard simply had no answer to the pace and industry of Villa’s flanking forwards, whilst they buckled under the presence of Benteke. Having kept back-to-back clean sheets, tonight’s damaging defeat is ill-timed. Sunderland could yet be lured into the relegation scrap, although with home fixtures against Stoke and Southampton to come, Mignolet and his defence have the opportunity to rediscover their resolve.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm up by 45 points against my rival, who has Lukaku.

    Should I do just Gerrard-->Nasri/Mata/Hazard?

OR should I get Lukaku for Benteke to neutralize and then Nasri for Fellaini for a -4?

a little yes, but i reckon its the right time to mix it up a bit, i actually think theres a decent chance RVP will not manage any attacking returns for the rest of the season.

    Hey Guys.
After a bit of advice on my transfers this week if you would be so kind.
Currently got a 34 point lead in my Mini-League, going for back to back titels- $1,000 on the line 🙂
This is no doubt due to the legendary FFS community!

    Current team:
    DDG (Fed)
    Vert, Zab, Davies, (Sanga,Clyne)
    Bale, Mata, Fellani, Michu, (Schniederlin)
    RVP, Tevez, Kone

Used 1 FT already and have 2.6M in the bank

Should I take further hits on more DGW players?
Fellani to Haz/Nasr/Yaya (I'm leaning towards Nasri but haven't watched Haz play lately, seems there's some love for him on here?)

Also have $100 for higest score of the ropund this week up for grabs too.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Gurus! 🙂 And good luck to you all for the last 3 games

        $1000 for 1st and $300 for second.

Cheers for the Hazard info, much appreciated.

Didn't get any responses last time...so let's try this again:

Ahead of my rival by 45 points and I need some advice for the DGW please. (ALL CAPS = Players we have in common)

    Rival’s Team:

    Bunn, DE GEA
Azpi, DAVIES, Mariappa, MARTIN R, DEMEL
    MICHU, BALE, GERRARD Kebe, Johnson
    TEVEZ, rvp, Lukaku

    1 FT, 2.6 in bank, 6 DGWers.

    My team:

    DE GEA, Frederici
DAVIES, Zabaleta, Sagna, MARTIN R, DEMEL
    Fellaini, GERRARD, Cazorla, BALE, MICHU
    TEVEZ, Defoe, Benteke

    1 FT, .4 in bank. 6 DGWers

Should I take a hit and do Benteke–>Lukaku (to neutralize him owning) and Fellaini–>Nasri?

Or should I just make one trade, perhaps Gerrard–>Mata/Hazard/Nasri?

    Preciate it fellas!

you have defoe, he has lukaku, dont see the points differance between the two being big enough to close you gap much. also i dont see lukaku going too mental, and tekkers has been on form for a while, so i'd keep if i had him.
i'd want nasri if i hadn't done my transfers already, so i'd get him in for felaini.
and i know everyone bangs on about not doing keeper transfers for a hit , but i thiink considering citys fixtures you cant go too wrong with ddg>hart

      Fellaini Santi DDG to
      Maloney Mata Hart (-8)
He might not see it coming and you could put the h2h to bed this gw.

i would also do 2 transfers, but in your position i'd go:
        1- fellaini - nasri
        2-lambert- lukaku

I'm still on the Kone vs Lukaku conundrum atm. Are getting rid of Fellani?

What say you to this lot? Is it alright?

    Robles
    Clichy | Dawson | Ivanovic
    Hazard | Bale | Morrison | Maloney
    Tevez | RvP | Lukaku

    Subs: DDG, Fellani, Koscielny, Riether

I'm tempted to play Kosc over Ivan, though.

    Bego
    Davies Vert Boyce
    Bale Maloney Toure Caz
    Tevez RVP Benteke

    Sagna, Sissoko, Demel

    Transfers were:
    Fella > Toure
    Smodgrass > Maloney
    Rafa > Vert
Only a -4 hit with 0.4 in the bank. Good to go? Not sure if Toure or Nasri but I'm thinking Toure has chance of more game time?
