With the ScoutCast survey results still resonating, we make minor tweaks to the trusted formula and still manage to clock up our longest episode yet. To be honest, with a double Gameweek looming and “Balegate” to pick through, this one could have run and run, particularly once I’d got “Significant Touch” by Phil Collins trapped in my head.

There’s plenty of discussion, another cameo from the Professor and his suffering Fantasy fortunes, the weekend preview and another Full Jonty which, this week, focuses on one Fantasy managers mysterious message from the “other side”. An event that inspires Jonty to go on the hunt for superstitious Fantasy managers.

Walk under our ladder and download this week’s episode via this link or clutch your rabbit’s foot and stream the nonsense from the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What are those strange, shrivelled, pallid emoticons I'm seeing these days? There's a typically sickly looking example a few posts up. Anyone shed any light?

Do these transfer tonight at the cost of 8 points? Begovic & Van Persie > Hart & Aguero

Gives me the following for the double:

    Hart*
    Dawson* Azpilicueta* Baines
    Mata* Bale* Michu* Maloney*
    Tevez* Aguero* Benteke

subs - Begovic, G.Johnson, Sagna, Guthrie

    What ya reckon?

I say go with it, assuming Hart is fit (I don't know the latest but weren't there rumblings recently of some injury)? I was hoping to keep RVP myself, until I realised I wouldn't be comfortably captaining him again this season...so there seemed little point. I pulled the trigger on RVP > Aguero tonight, seems only sensible.

Begovic > Hart definitely but Aguero might play 90 + 30 at best and RVP is in form again, he might well fill his boots against a fatigued Chelsea. I would be cautious with transfer number 2 SuperDunny.

Having said that if your chasing points then why not

I wish i could afford Begovic > Hart 🙁 I'm short of cash so need to do one of the following to facilitate it:

        a) Baines & Benteke > Stam & Aguero
        b) Baines & Benteke > Kompany & Lukaku
        c) Begovic & RVP > Hart & Aguero
        d) Begovic & Benteke > Hart & Lukaku
        e) Begovic & Baines > Hart & Vertonghen

Any of them appeal more than option c? It's either an 8 point hit or nothing i think. Can't see any single transfers worth a punt really

Getting rid of fellaini in a derby, after leading in shots taken prior week is fools gold. Your weakest link for this week is lambert. Can go lukaku or kone. Then can play rvp, tevez, lukaku and same mid you played last week, which all 4 have good fixtures.

What do you think is the best approach when you are defending a ML lead? (I am 40 points ahead).

    a) Taking a couple of hits to buy players your rival might get hauls with

    b) Taking no hits, keeping the points, playing it 'safe'

In my case these players would be Lukaku and Maloney, primarily

    Open Controls

      a) Is actually the safe option.

Take 36 points of hits if you have to. If you copy his team and (C) for the next 3 weeks, you win.

How can you know who he will captain though. Even with an exact replica, a different captain choice can make all the difference.

Not true. He can capt a different captain every week, but as long as you have his same players, then it will still be next to impossible for him to make up 40 pts. As example, I captained aguero and mini easer captained bale. Aguero scored 6 and bale scored 12. Since both of us have both players, he only gained 6 on that captain choice even though his captain scored 24 and mine scored 12.

Even with a 1 week lag, it still has a protective effect this late in the season. In the end, if you take a few hits to get in who you think can have a big haul, chances are you will have mimicked his hits without even knowing it.

This is correct, but if looking at someone who is chasing you, just see how many hits they took - then look at their unintimidating players and assume the worst. Then decide which ones in those positions scare you the most for not having them - then make your choice. The good thing about this DGW is that Chelsea and tottenham have a lot to play for. Arsenal do as well. Their following gws are also good, so little risk in bringing in or keeping their big guns. Man city don't ave much to play for but pride. However, they have best ending fixtures of all teams. So even if aguero as an example gets 60 minutes here and there, it is still against weaker opposition.

First time I've ever overcome being too lazy to type and format my whole team to ask, so here goes:

Am I Ok with 7 dgw or do I need a hit for another?

    Hart* (Bunn)
    GJohnson, Zabaleta*, Demel (Clyne, Harte)
Bale* (C), Mata*, Michu*, Nolan (Fellaini)
    RVP, Tevez*, Lukaku*

This is a sort of repost so apologies in advance! I want to get Hart in this week but am just short of doing Begovic > Hart. Which other transfer looks the best way to finance it?

    a) Benteke > Lukaku
    b) Van Persie > Aguero
    c) Baines > Kompany

    Team at the moment:
    Bunn
    Dawson* Azpilicueta* Baines
    Mata* Bale* Michu* Maloney*
    Tevez* RVP Benteke

subs - Begovic, G.Johnson, Sagna, Guthrie

... or do nothing, play the team above, and avoid the points hit?

      c)

Ciity's fixtures are choice here on in and Hart & Komps are as nailed as can be. Yes, you're doubling but what a great double.

      or...

      b) depending on what you believe about RVP's game time. I'm keeping him.

🙂 Cheers for the help mate. You're right that there can be few better teams to double up on that City right now given their defensive record and remaining fixtures.

Only problem i can see with doing option c is that it leaves me a bit short of cash. I had penciled in Michu > Walcott for next week but i wouldn't be able to afford it with Kompany. I could get Zabaleta and have enough money but i can't help but think Richards is going to start a game or two during the run in
