A frustrating evening for Gareth Bale and Fantasy managers as Spurs and Chelsea play out a stalemate at the Bridge with the goals shared amongst unlikely differentials. Hereโs the Stock Check from Wednesdayโs Gameweek climax.
On the Up
Oscar
The young Brazilian was identified as our headline act in our Differentials article prior to the Gameweek deadline and duly delivered. Tonightโs tap in was his third goal in four games for Oscar, who has started five of the last six league outings. Owned by under 2% of Fantasy Premier League managers, we picked him this week out as a possible replacement for the injured Michu over the final two matches and, with tonightโs returns, many could now look in his direction.
Emmanuel Adebayor
The Togo striker put on a superb showing, earning goal and assist returns for the second time in his last four starts. Adebayor has endured a hugely disappointing season back in Spurs colours and has in no way justified his lofty FPL price tag. His end of season form is, however, looking strong and he could yet be considered as a potential differential for the final two fixtures by those with cash to spare up top.
Going Down
Eden Hazard
While Juan Mata kept ticking over and came out of the double Gameweek with an assist, his fellow playmaker was given just 72 minutes to earn returns for his investors and come up short. Hazardโs failure was compounded by Oscarโs profits and the Belgianโs owners will now have to hope for consecutive starts over the final two fixtures and a rapid turnaround in fortunes.
Jermain Defoe
Dropped to the bench after an ineffective display against Southampton, Adebayorโs performance will surely make a huge dent in Defoeโs prospects over the remaining fixtures and kill off any thoughts that the England striker could be an effective differential for the season climax.
