This week’s ScoutCast episode reminds us that there really is life outside of Fantasy Football.

Like the pursuit of the “most consecutive hours spent in one building” for instance, or perhaps the “most impressive eating feat”. Both are key events, alongside Fantasy Premier League ranking, in an annual set of “Bloke Olympics” revealed courtesy of this week’s rather different “Full Jonty”. Our friend in the community brings an extraordinary tale of a top Fantasy manager who runs his life like an achievement list – not to be missed.

Around that, we find time to pop in on an off-colour Professor, welcome Mr Moyes to Old Trafford and discuss the options presented by the Michu fallout.

Take your place amongst the medals via this link or polish your Olympic rings via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Torn between whether to get Lampard or Sturridge.

Getting Lampard means I bench Lukaku
Getting Sturridge means I have Michu on the bench...and by Demi's report he could be back next game 😯

well it looks like even Buttner with 3 matches can get 1 according to the source below.

And Sir Alex confirmed: "They [the fringe players] will get medals. It’s changed now. They give you an allocated number of medals and it’s up to you to distribute them how you want.

"I think that’s fair because, in Darren Fletcher’s case for instance, it’s only illness which has prohibited him from getting a medal [under the old 10 appearances rule]. I’m sure if he’d been available he would have been sitting here with one.

"[Alexander] Büttner’s been great because he’s travelled to every away game with us, he’s been involved in every single training session, he’s played three times and been a substitute another 10 times, something like that. So I think that’s a contribution.

Two great minds thinking alike -- how can I disagree? I'm on a hell of a run taking hits but I can't justify a big outlay since there are a half dozen guys that appeal but not enough time to earn.

Am I the only one not liking Coutinho -- feels like Sissoko-mania to me.

I'm not sold on Coutinho either but with two decent fixtures you can't deny he's appealing when you watch him play. Very creative, skilful player but that may not translate into points. I reckon he'd be great if Liverpool were to hammer one of the teams they play next. Simply because he is often assisting with through balls and the like. But as for goal threat it's probably not very strong and he's a raw young player who might not get 90 mins so it's a risk. I'd go for it if I was feeling like I needed to gamble but probably like the likes of Lampard/Fellaini more for their obvious and relatively consistent goal threat.

Lampard is a punt I'm very tempted by I must admit.

Hey guys, wondering if you could help me with this dilemma.

I'm not sure whether to just play Lukaku (obvious risk of starts + not sure what kind of game Norwich away will be for him) or to take a 4 point hit and get in the likes of Lampard/Fellaini or Sturridge/Ba.

If I get a striker then Michu(inj) is very easily benched.

If I get the likes of Lampard then Lukaku gets benched (eek)

    Thoughts?

Does Lukaku come off the bench very often? That might be helpful to know, because if he doesn't take cameos then you can play him and ship Michu for a mid. Or have you already used your transfer?

he does. He will almost certainly feature whether it's a start or a late sub. What I'm afraid of is that Norwich have so much to play for it might not be a great fixture for him as Norwich can keep it tight and I'd be surprised if they completely capitulated.

That's why I'm tempted by the Lampard or Sturridge move. But part of me also wants to give Lukaku the chance as he is capable of strong returns. I'll feel a fool if he has another game like he had against Southampton and I've sold him or benched him!

I hear you -- am circling around many of the same moves, and have just opened the door to RVP, Downing, Lampard in for Tevez, Michu, Mata (-8). I have to get Liverpool and am worried about no Mata this weekend.

I'd go for Fellaini and Sturridge but avoid Ba and Lampard TBH...

Has Cabaye being playing deeper in midfield these past few games? Newcastle's form is disastrous but they're completely fkd if they don't beat QPR. Ben Arfa's not getting 90 mins lately but without Sissoko himself, Cabaye, Cisse and Gouffran look to be their only goal threat.

They've just been crap all round. What happened was Pardew tried to play Cabaye in the hole almost against Liverpool with Sissoko out wide. What ended up happening was they got slaughtered and lost Cabaye's passing/tackling/keeping possession qualities that he brings in the centre. Probably why you saw such a ridiculous scoreline as they were so exposed.

For West Ham they went back to basics but Sissoko was out. Gouffran looked a bit of a threat, Ben Arfa got the start and Cabaye had a lovely through ball to Cisse that but for a Reid goal line clearance would have been a great goal.

They are a poor side, are Newcastle but Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Cisse can be great on their day. I have Cabaye at the minute and am playing him hoping for a big performance from Newcastle with him involved. He can be great at creating chances for them.

I got Cabaye on for Toure who probably won't play and even if he does will habe no motivation. Was happy to see Pool beat Newcastle by 6 but they were shambolic and amateurish for a team facing relegation. Coloccini gives their defence some solidity and leadership so hopefully Cabaye can get some attacking points.

Morning all, leading my ML by 22 points but my transfer plans took a turn after my rival brought in rvp 🙁 he will probably captain him I reckon....

    Ddg (bunn)
    baines jones clark (davies harte)
    bale mata wally maloney (michu)
    berb augero tevez

leading my ML by 22 points and rival brought in rvp so should i mimic him?
    A: michu + augero >> townsend (any mid upto 4.5) + rvp
    B: michu + augero >> any mid upto 6.5 + rooney
    C: baines + augero >> sagna + rvp
D: ignore his rvp move and do clark + michu >> sagna + coutinho as planned

    All moves involve a hit..

I'm 1 win ahead of my opponent (and 30+ points overall). He has Mata, Benteke, Maloney, Lukaku. I have Berb, Tevez, Hazard who worry me as far as starts are concerned. Block him and get Benteke in? I have 1 FT. Or switch Hazard for Mata? Will Hazard play?

i'd say hazard is 50/50 to start

don't look at your opponent. just get the players you think will get the most points

Tevez likely to start? I'm more looking at my players who might get the least points! 😀 Like Berbatov for example... dud... I don't want to ditch Michu, he might start the last game.

I guess most likely to get ditched are either Hazard or Berbatov. The former for Mata and the latter for Benteke... but I really would want Coutinho in my team...

    Hello. Thoughts on

    Mata- Lamps &
    Lukaku- Sturridge.

Both -4 pointers. Cant afford the second unless I do the first. I think there's a decent chance Mata won't play with EL final. Trying to convince myself Lukaku could also be dropped too!
