In the first instalment of a new, weekly article for members, we conduct some in-depth statistical analysis into one of the most crucial aspects in any given Gameweek – just who we entrust with the Fantasy armband. This week the options are plentiful – Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all feature at home, City travel to basement-dwellers Sunderland, while a couple of Belgians are also in the running as clear captain contenders. With an array of talent on show, just who is “Captain Sensible”?

In Tommy We Trust Let's talk AllThingsFPL.com or let's talk about the weather. Your choice - Is it sunny where you are? Follow them on Twitter

Wc draft, how u like it?

    Harper/Boruc
Vlaar/Rat/Michael Turner/Terry/Glen Johnson (if not fit, mb Pieters instead?)
    Brady/Ramsey/Townsend/Januzaj/Silva (if not fit,then who?
    Roon/Suarez/Aguero.

with Reid out, I'd get Rat out

Townsend pick is poor, you could probably get more goals with as many shots as he takes

Brady is unlikely to start until after the international break

Who would you replace him with? Hammers resilience has been amazing this season, they dont attack and have good home fixtures. And hes cheap. Townsend might fire a lot of blanks, but atleast he takes a ton of shots and starts every game for a top side. Who would you replace him with? Dont need Brady to start this week anyway as he would be on my bench away to Southampton regardless.

I do it every Thursday on my falling stars posts...A fictitous squad/team where every player is less than their opening GW value and collectively on or less than 100mil...So far i've beaten the average every week...sometimes by quite a decent amount...No Aguero's, no Ramsey's and co..in fact no knee jerks at all.

Have Spurs suddenly become an epiphany of a great stalwart defense?

Or another Maginot Line waiting to happen? If I could forget the drubbing from a Villa B-team I may be looking to invest. Thoughts.

They've shaken the North London Leakiness Curse big time. In fairness, a lot felt in 2012 that this would happen and whilst the stats were good last season, they had an awful habit of conceding just the one goal.

The fact FPL priced Lloris at 6 and Chesney at 5.5 says a lot for me.

Best keeper and the second best second back in the league, a right back who is f*cking lightning and and an experienced captain. Plus Chiriches is fast and pretty solid.

Tottenham have reversed. Notoriously poorer defense than attack but it's the other way round now.

    Migs ( Lewis)

    Ivanovic, Vlaar, Coleman, (Dawson, Rosenior)

Ozil, Hazard, Coutinho, Ravel, ( JWP)

    Lukaku, Aguero, Suarez

Think I'm heading along the Aguero road for captaincy.

Might side switch Ivanovic for Terry in the future as his crossing was woeful tonight. Don't get me wrong, plenty of it....just poor.

Obviously I'm missing Ramsey. For now I'm sticking to that as it will cost double move in order to free up funds.

    Thoughts on the team overall?

Newcastle are a bit of a wilcard at the moment, I never know if they are going to turn up and so I trust Cardiff to not score more than I trust Remy / Cabaye.

Hazard could be altered....but I'm hoping to catch the odd double figure with him. (still to happen btw 🙂 )

The international break is still after this week though. Depends how much time he plays, still for the Cardiff clash he came on and scored and the previous international break he at least came on too, so the same should happen.

Plus West Ham without their rock Reid for that game, boosting Chelsea attackers.

      Cahill's played 5 league games so far: W4 D1 ( at OT ). 3 clean sheets.

Luiz's played 5 league games so far: W2 D1 L2. No clean sheets.

I wouldn't bother with either Oscar or Hazard, to be honest. Oscar may well be rested after the international break and Hazard's wildly inconsistent, never mind what the stats say.

michu falling to 8.8 has left me 0.1 short of silva. i'm not really a belieber though no, just doesn't do it for me in FPL yet, needs a couple more multiple return games to convince me fully. for example in the 3 games he's scored in man city have scored 14 goals, harsh but i want more coverage than that.
will be getting ramsey for mirallas regardless after this gw anyway, will be able to afford ramsey even if he triple rises before then.
oscar is the issue, i like him this gw but dont want to spend 9.0 on a guy i dont think will start in gw12 (brazil have matches in florida and then canada)

Aguero is hitting form similar to his first season.

Sturridge won't keep pace with aguero. The reason you have sturridge is to bring in another big hitting mid I guess. However the mids are not firing. Time to get aguero

The only two 2 PL matches Oscar did not start for Chelsea are:

GW4 @Everton: came on as sub, only played 34 mins (after starting for Brazil four days prior and starting against Bayern in the Super Cup before that)

GW8 @Cardiff: came on as sub, only played 32 mins, scored (after starting for Brazil against Zambia four days prior)

    in the other midweek matches:

rested for Cap One Cup against Swindon Town,
started GW6 against Spurs four days later, played 82 min

started against Steaua Bucuresti, played 79 min, assist,
started GW7 against Norwich five days later, played full 90 min and scored

Used to be a heavy emphasis with him gunning down the RW, now with Santi/Ozil/Rosicky swapping about there's more of a balance.

Think he'll be eased back in, but could do some damage with the midfield behind him against some weaker opponents.

9.0 area for Walcott will be tasty.

Whats wrong with this wc draft? Some complaints on Rat and Townsend, who would you replace with?

    Harper/Boruc
Vlaar/Rat/Michael Turner/Terry/Glen Johnson (if not fit, mb Pieters instead?)
    Brady/Ramsey/Townsend/Januzaj/Silva (if not fit,then who?
    Roon/Suarez/Aguero.

Think Townsend is a fad and Tot attack is to be avoided. Their schedule is getting tougher too.

I'd prefer a Swans def over a Villa one.

I'd also choose Lukaku then Benteke over Rooney for the next few GW's as well. That's just my opinion.
