In the first instalment of a new, weekly article for members, we conduct some in-depth statistical analysis into one of the most crucial aspects in any given Gameweek – just who we entrust with the Fantasy armband. This week the options are plentiful – Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all feature at home, City travel to basement-dwellers Sunderland, while a couple of Belgians are also in the running as clear captain contenders. With an array of talent on show, just who is “Captain Sensible”?
Has there been any other news about the whole Suarez might not play against Fulham because he has to leave for international duties earlier than expected?
Open ControlsThink we'd have heard much more on the matter if he wasn't going to play for Liverpool.
Open ControlsHe is not going to play 80%
Open Controls- Open Controls
Let's get to serious bussiness now, need to sort out my team.
mignolet (4.0)
Chico coleman Walker (B.Turner / Chester)
ozil ramsey Oscar barkley (januzaj)
aguero suarez lukaku
1 FT
Bank : 2.8
I am thinking about going for Chelsea defender Terry, but need you suggestion and advice..... 🙂Open ControlsGreat team. i'd save FT buddy...
unless you want 4 big defenders to play 433. in that case burner > JT and play him over barkley
PS - See emailOpen ControlsYup, save the transfer. There are no great-looking Barkley replacements, even if you spend your whole bank. Better to save and re-evaluate over the break.
I'm never been that impressed with JT... Chelsea can't keep clean sheets and Terry is overpriced. Not this week, of course, but maybe consider a WBrom defender for their favourable run of fixtures.Open ControlsMcauley ????
Just had checked top 10 currently , 4-5 people having west brom def 😯Open ControlsHe does tend to get some attacking returns. But Ridgewell could work, too. Myhill has been good for me, and I will continue to play him for Boruc's tougher fixtures, at least until Foster's return. It's not worth getting Myhill at this point, however.
Open Controls
Sweet team actually, buy the addition of Terry would make it even stronger no doubts
Open ControlsIf you think there is an 80% chance Suarez won't play why are you not worried about him?
Open Controlsits just one match if he does not plays it.... not a big deal
Open Controls
Your 3 defenders all have good fixtures. Save, next week you can lose Coleman or walker for Terry and perhaps lose Barkley as well, depending how many minutes he gets this week
Open ControlsWalker is overpriced so him to terry. Nice team.
Open Controls
My team looked brilliant 2 days ago 🙁
Reid out.. Hazard, Mirallas may not start(pure speculation though). Toure a doubt if it's a 4-4-2.. Atleast i'm lucky that it's all happening this week. Got a good bench atleastOpen Controlsactually screw that.. Apart from Reid the others should start and get cricket scores with their fixtures! 🙂
Open Controls
Yaya or hazard for this week?
Open ControlsWould normally say hazard but wait to see if any more news after mourinho dropped him for missing training
Open Controls
I'm wondering whether to get rid of Giroud. His returns have become somewhat sparse, and Arsenal have a tough run of fixtures with the Champions league included, not to mention Giroud on international duty.
All that said, he is still the lone striker for a team that does tend to score a lot of goals. I've had him since the start of the season, so I don't like losing team value that would be incurred on the sale.
If anything, I'd do a straight swap to Benteke...Open ControlsI'd rid myself of Giroud actually. It's not that he's doing badly, just that there are better options in a position where you're limited to 3 players.
Ozil, Walcott, Rambo all give u decent Ars coverage. Any 1 or 2 of those should see you profit from Ars doing well.Open ControlsThe only players I would lose giroud for are aguero or Suarez. Anything else would be sideways at best including benteke at the moment. If villa rediscover their mojo perhaps then make the switch but at the moment they are not scoring enough goals. Giroud small portion of big pie better than benteke huge portion if non existent pie.
Open ControlsIf It is benteke then wait...
Let see if Benteke starts firing or notOpen ControlsThanks all. I'll be looking at totalfpl on friday night to see whether giroud's price will drop. It is kinda sad that a 0.1 difference may be what sways me. But I'm funny that way.
Open Controls
Oscar
Open ControlsI have them both, so I hope there is no bad choice.
But if I had to pick one, I'd say Oscar. Silva is a slight doubt, and Man City are not as formidable away for home.Open ControlsI bought Oscar, though do have a biggling feeling that I should have gone for the form player in Silva.
Wait for injury news on Silva, and he's gunna be fit I'd buy him over Oscar personally (just)Open Controls
What to do with this team moving forward in the next few weeks?
Migs (4.0)
Dawson Terry Rio* Shaw Chester
Rambo Oscar Lamps* Whitts Barkley
Suarez Aguero Lukaku
0FT & 1.3m ITB
No tranny for this week but am thinking starting next week to make moves to get Rooney. But my MF is pretty weak too IMO. So which is best option:
A) Rio > Kosc
Lamps > Janz/Brady
Lukaku > Roon
B) Rio > Mert
Barkley > Janz/Brady
Lamps > Walcott
Both options will be done over the course of a few weeks with a -4 hit at most, but maybe no hit at all.
So basically it's a strong MF or the nuts attack?Open ControlsGo for Swansea def ... willams BAPs magnet and nice fixtures.
Open ControlsYeh I'll look at Williams maybe instead of Mert or Kosc. Just liked the look of Ars fixtures after Utd game...... Also think Ars are not too bad defensively with Flamini in the team.
Which from A or B would you go for?Open ControlsLamp ➡ Ozil / Walcott your choice
i am giving lukaku one last chance .....Open Controls
B looks better. But as mentioned, Arsenal do tend to concede more than you would expect. Nastasic could be an idea, but City are in the same boat defensively. Swansea or WBrom defence are good options.
Open Controls
Best midfielder for 6.5 apart from Terry. Double with Ivan?
Open ControlsSwansea fixtures till Christmas are hard to ignore.
Open ControlsInteresting. Would you say Williams, Myhill and Sturrdige over Ivan, 4.0, and Tekkers
Other keeper is Boruc.Open ControlsMyhill covers borucs fixtures pretty well
Williams and Ivan similar scores IMO and same with studge/tekkers. Your call really.Open ControlsSouthampton and WBrom rotate really well. But Foster might be back before too long, so getting Myhill now may be a recipe for an extra transfer in a few weeks.
I rate Williams over Ivanovic irrespective of price.
Sturridge vs Benteke is an interesting one. It's a toss-up in my view.Open ControlsI'd want Williams, Myhill and Sturridge.
Williams - bap magnet and Swansea have a good run of fixtures.
Myhill - rotates well with Boruc.
Sturridge - much better form than Benteke. I'd want Suarez in my team though and wait until Benteke shows some form - PS I do own Benteke!Open Controls
I can't understand why in the watchlist there is no love for myhill. Granted WBA don't have the best fixtures but he has given me 3 cs in the last 6 and has worked perfectly in rotation with boruc
Open ControlsI agree completely. Myhill has been super rotating with Boruc (even if I missed Boruc's cs and baps against Liverpool).
I think that the big reason is that Foster's return is on the horizon. It was supposed to be end of November, no? I haven't heard any recent news, however.Open Controlstrue.. 7 clean sheets in a row for me with Boruc/ Myhill rotation..
Open ControlsFoster return maybe?
Open Controls
Silva, lukaku doubtful
Reid injured.
Damn you fantasy football!!Open ControlsLukaku is back in training.. Silva could well be back by Sunday..
Open Controls
With 11 goals in 17 games this season, Ramsey has now scored as many goals as he did in his first 150 games since moving to Arsenal.
Open ControlsI'm still undecided whether to captain Agüero or Suarez!
Open Controlsi always prefer a player with Home match.. can backfire sometimes.. But Suarez at home to an out of sorts Fulham is enough for me to put it on Suarez.. but it is defenitely a close call..
Open ControlsMight just have to captain Suarez! My mini league leader will captain him!
Open Controls
Everyone seems to be backing Suarez but Sunderland are woeful at the minute and Aguero is shit hot.
Open ControlsTrue but that seems a strange anomaly, whereas Sunderland are genuinely terrible
Open Controls
So is Michu a definite no this week? Who would you guys recommend?
Open ControlsRamsey destroyed me but I refuse to get him at 7.1M now but finally Ozil, Silva, Oscar in the same team. Now sit back and enjoy top 3 excited number 10 in the league playing 🙂
Open ControlsAnd blank 😀
Open Controls
Mourinho..
"It was good. The team was stable and kept possession," he said.
"After the first goal, we played like we want to play. Everyone worked hard, especially the wingers.
"When we recovered the ball, we were always aggressive. That was important for us."
Worried hazard owner here.. still think he'll start now that he's got the kick up his @rse but it is a bit worryinOpen Controls"He didn't play, he wanted to play. He's sad because he wanted to play."
If that is not a kick up the @rse i dunno what is. Hazard must chompin at the bit now. Question.. can willian play in the hole?Open Controls

Dortmund fans after Ramsey scoredOpen ControlsThoughts on Coutinho fellas?
Open ControlsBig let down early season. Monitor for now but may pick up with Suaz back in the fold.
Open ControlsAlso, he'll play in the hole.
And in one half he had just as many (3) attemts on goal as Silva, Sturridge and Suarez, and more than both Ramsey (2), Hazard, Özil and Giroud to name a few.
Michu -> Coutinho (-4) for my part.Open ControlsNot the largest sample size I know. But I just hope he'll pick up some form now. Showed glimpses of brilliance in the early games of the season, but this time he will be passing to Suarez instead of Aspas. 😉
Open ControlsCheers. Just looking at options. Currently have 3 reds already so would have to ditch Migs or Johnson. Looking at maybe getting rid of Migs. Silva also. Wish I got him while he was cheaper.
Open Controls
The RMT tool is peculiar, at times. It suggests that I play 4 defenders and Januzaj while leaving Ramsey and Sessegnon on the bench.
What more does Ramsey need to do in order to get some respect from this spiteful algorithm? 😉Open ControlsMignolet - Marshall
Williams - Coleman - Turner - Ivanovic - Collins
Coutinho - Ramsey - Oscar - Townsend - Ravel
Aguero - Sturridge - Benteke
Lineup?Open Controlshere is my team. should i play barkley or ravel?
boruc
terry, GJ, coleman
silva, oscar, ramsey, barkley
suarez, aguero, rooney
davis, ravel, rosenoir, chesterOpen ControlsI'd go Barkley. Speculation is that he will start, and palace are far from resilient, even at home.
Open Controlswhere's your grav from? looks like a sexy version of dark souls
Play BarkleyOpen Controlsit's the underage prostitute that ribery/benzema were caught with (in the picture, she is at the legal age, just in case people start freaking out lol)
Open Controlsah.. why she's flashing a giant cat is another story i'm guessin
Open Controls- Open Controls
Which one to start?
Murner or Morrison?
Very tricky choosing between emOpen ControlsI've been looking at Murner, and had been thinking of bringing him in this week. I decided against it because Norwich will need to do something different after their 7-0 drubbing. Murner seems secure, but you never really know.
I'd go Ravel for that reason alone.Open ControlsThanks guys... will go entertainment over snoozefest. Morrison it is
Open Controls
I'm tempted to make the swap. I'm sure option B will out score A by four points over the next three.
A) Ozil + Ravel
Or
B) Nasri + Ivanovic - 4 pointsOpen Controlshttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/evertons-gerard-deulofeu-tipped-explode-2679448
Deulofeu tipped to explode in the new year by Martinez..
Quote: Martinez said: "He has shown great things already. But for any young player, it takes time to adapt.
Mirallas to get another 60 this week then.. atleast it looks like he'll start. out as soon as possible striaght ofter thoughOpen ControlsI don't see any pressing transfers atm as my team is ready for this GW I think. I could use my FT this week to make changes in my defence? Currently thinking Wilson/Ward to Terry/Williams but unsure which to chop and which to bring in and if I do it this week, should any of them play?
Team is currently
Boruc Adrian
Coleman Clyne Toure Ward Wilson
Ozil Ramsey Januzaj Ravel Brady
Aguero RVP Sturridge
1 FT and 4.0 in the bank. Hold this week?Open ControlsI'd chop Ward. I'd much raher have 0 points coming in than minus points 😉
Open ControlsWard for who? And should that player start this week ahead of any of the other defenders? Thinking Clyne Coleman and Toure
Open ControlsI think you should hold this week in case anything happens over the break. If Chelsea fail to keep a clean sheet this weekend again, then go for Williams.
Open ControlsActually a great idea. Having 2 FT's over the break while people will be taking hits to fix any injuries could be amazing. Not sure if I'm tempting fate by keeping practically the same high scoring team for 2 GW's straight and hoping for a 3rd week of high points though.
Open Controls
Thoughts on Rooney captain next week? Any better options?
Open ControlsWinston Reid out of the World Cup play off matches with Meh-he-ko. Wonder if this means Collins back into the equation again.
Open Controls🙁 ..
Open Controls
who to start??
bourc (hull) home
OR
mignolet (fulham) home
??Open ControlsHazard FPL owners don't worry, he will be back into the first team this Saturday!
Read:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2489311/Eden-Hazard-dropped-Schalke-win-missed-training-session.htmlOpen ControlsI looked back and did some calculation...
My average score from captain every week is precisely 15 points...Not a brilliant one but i think it's ok..
IMO if you gotta take a hit, it'd be justified only if it's for your captain. Some unnecessary points wasted for normal players in rotation really dragged my step forward this season.
My lineup this week without more transfer:
Mignolet, 4.0
Nastasic, Ivanovic, Jagielka, Shaw, Lovren
Ramsey, Oscar, Silva, Barkley, Amalfitano
Aguero, Lukaku, SuarezOpen Controls
