In the first instalment of a new, weekly article for members, we conduct some in-depth statistical analysis into one of the most crucial aspects in any given Gameweek – just who we entrust with the Fantasy armband. This week the options are plentiful – Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all feature at home, City travel to basement-dwellers Sunderland, while a couple of Belgians are also in the running as clear captain contenders. With an array of talent on show, just who is “Captain Sensible”?

In Tommy We Trust Let's talk AllThingsFPL.com or let's talk about the weather. Your choice - Is it sunny where you are? Follow them on Twitter

Has there been any other news about the whole Suarez might not play against Fulham because he has to leave for international duties earlier than expected?

Yup, save the transfer. There are no great-looking Barkley replacements, even if you spend your whole bank. Better to save and re-evaluate over the break.
I'm never been that impressed with JT... Chelsea can't keep clean sheets and Terry is overpriced. Not this week, of course, but maybe consider a WBrom defender for their favourable run of fixtures.

He does tend to get some attacking returns. But Ridgewell could work, too. Myhill has been good for me, and I will continue to play him for Boruc's tougher fixtures, at least until Foster's return. It's not worth getting Myhill at this point, however.

I'm wondering whether to get rid of Giroud. His returns have become somewhat sparse, and Arsenal have a tough run of fixtures with the Champions league included, not to mention Giroud on international duty.
All that said, he is still the lone striker for a team that does tend to score a lot of goals. I've had him since the start of the season, so I don't like losing team value that would be incurred on the sale.
If anything, I'd do a straight swap to Benteke...

I'd rid myself of Giroud actually. It's not that he's doing badly, just that there are better options in a position where you're limited to 3 players.

Ozil, Walcott, Rambo all give u decent Ars coverage. Any 1 or 2 of those should see you profit from Ars doing well.

The only players I would lose giroud for are aguero or Suarez. Anything else would be sideways at best including benteke at the moment. If villa rediscover their mojo perhaps then make the switch but at the moment they are not scoring enough goals. Giroud small portion of big pie better than benteke huge portion if non existent pie.

What to do with this team moving forward in the next few weeks?

    Migs (4.0)
    Dawson Terry Rio* Shaw Chester
    Rambo Oscar Lamps* Whitts Barkley
    Suarez Aguero Lukaku
    0FT & 1.3m ITB

No tranny for this week but am thinking starting next week to make moves to get Rooney. But my MF is pretty weak too IMO. So which is best option:
    A) Rio > Kosc
    Lamps > Janz/Brady
    Lukaku > Roon

    B) Rio > Mert
    Barkley > Janz/Brady
    Lamps > Walcott

Both options will be done over the course of a few weeks with a -4 hit at most, but maybe no hit at all.
So basically it's a strong MF or the nuts attack?

Southampton and WBrom rotate really well. But Foster might be back before too long, so getting Myhill now may be a recipe for an extra transfer in a few weeks.
I rate Williams over Ivanovic irrespective of price.

Williams - bap magnet and Swansea have a good run of fixtures.
Myhill - rotates well with Boruc.
Sturridge - much better form than Benteke. I'd want Suarez in my team though and wait until Benteke shows some form - PS I do own Benteke!

I agree completely. Myhill has been super rotating with Boruc (even if I missed Boruc's cs and baps against Liverpool).
I think that the big reason is that Foster's return is on the horizon. It was supposed to be end of November, no? I haven't heard any recent news, however.

The RMT tool is peculiar, at times. It suggests that I play 4 defenders and Januzaj while leaving Ramsey and Sessegnon on the bench.
What more does Ramsey need to do in order to get some respect from this spiteful algorithm? 😉

I always opt for the attacking option because its easier to score goals than it is to defend them

I've been looking at Murner, and had been thinking of bringing him in this week. I decided against it because Norwich will need to do something different after their 7-0 drubbing. Murner seems secure, but you never really know.
I'd go Ravel for that reason alone.

I'm tempted to make the swap. I'm sure option B will out score A by four points over the next three.

    A) Ozil + Ravel

    Or

    B) Nasri + Ivanovic - 4 points

Deulofeu tipped to explode in the new year by Martinez..
Quote: Martinez said: "He has shown great things already. But for any young player, it takes time to adapt.

Mirallas to get another 60 this week then.. atleast it looks like he'll start. out as soon as possible striaght ofter though

I don't see any pressing transfers atm as my team is ready for this GW I think. I could use my FT this week to make changes in my defence? Currently thinking Wilson/Ward to Terry/Williams but unsure which to chop and which to bring in and if I do it this week, should any of them play?

    Team is currently

    Boruc Adrian
    Coleman Clyne Toure Ward Wilson
    Ozil Ramsey Januzaj Ravel Brady
    Aguero RVP Sturridge

1 FT and 4.0 in the bank. Hold this week?

I think you should hold this week in case anything happens over the break. If Chelsea fail to keep a clean sheet this weekend again, then go for Williams.

Actually a great idea. Having 2 FT's over the break while people will be taking hits to fix any injuries could be amazing. Not sure if I'm tempting fate by keeping practically the same high scoring team for 2 GW's straight and hoping for a 3rd week of high points though.

I looked back and did some calculation...

My average score from captain every week is precisely 15 points...Not a brilliant one but i think it's ok..

IMO if you gotta take a hit, it'd be justified only if it's for your captain. Some unnecessary points wasted for normal players in rotation really dragged my step forward this season.

My lineup this week without more transfer:

    Mignolet, 4.0

    Nastasic, Ivanovic, Jagielka, Shaw, Lovren

    Ramsey, Oscar, Silva, Barkley, Amalfitano

    Aguero, Lukaku, Suarez
