Festive rotation and Mark and Granville’s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what they’ve been putting in the water at Christina’s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they won’t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiff’s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkey’s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles ‘Big Bash League’ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

Hey guys! Been lurking around this site for a while now. Good bunch of qualified fpl players on here.

I want a 4.0 CRY defender in, but have no idea who Pulis will prefer.
We all know TP prefers "tanks" in the back. Does this means Gabbidon will be dropped for e.x Mariappa? Will Ward be nailed on, who is his competition?

From what I have seen Moxey isn't up for task in the PL, so he's out of the q. Parr should replace him imo.

    Any thoughts/theories is appreciated

They are away next week before 2 nice home fixtures, so you can asses it. Ward might be the vest bet

Pointless speculating IMO. he won't make any drastic changes initially as they have two CS in a row. I reckon GabIddon is pretty safe although I have Speroni so don't need to worry.

only bits and pieces as i was working and haven't watched MOTD yet

But I think Cardiff were good value for a point. though it's frustrating to lose 3 points the way we did.

I've said this before, but it warrants saying again. You only notice Carrick when he isn't there

Unless Clevs and Fellaini can turn it up a level it could be a long old December sadly.

    Big dilemma, please help :)...

    A) RVP and Barkley to Giroud and Oscar

    or

    B) RVP and Barkley to Rooney and Coutinho

    or

    C) RVP, Barkley and Zabaleta to Rooney, Oscar and 5.4 defender (-4)...

Goroud have better fixtures but Rooney is the one who I want in my team more...
And I also want Oscar in squad more than Coutinho because i have Suarez in team and don't have Chelsea attacking cover...

    Szczesny
    Zabaleta, Ivanovic, G. Johnson (Baker, Chester); R. Morrison, Ramsey, Mirallas, Barkley (Colback);
    Aguero, van Persie, Suarez
    0.6 in bank, 2FT

I would perfer Zaba if you want Man City d coverage. Only 0.1 more and more attacking.

I would personally go with Merts right now. Arsenals fixture look decent, he is a goal threat, and he is nailed on.

IMO the main point is not who you get in for Baines but what you spend the extra cash on that makes the difference.

    Help with this guys?

    My defence as is...

    Boruc
    Williams, Dawson, GJ, Clyne, Burner

Q1. Who to sell first and who for? (I was thinking Clyne)

I could do Clyne > Baker which leaves me enough to do Lukaku> Rooney in GW14.
    Or
Clyne > Mert?? meaning I can't afford Rooney later.

Yeah mert is a good option I think. Other options are chelsea defence but costs alot more so I think merts the best option. Im keeping dawson and benching him. Probably will just keep him until the day he isnt in tge starting xi and gives us problems like that! Kaboul could be a bargain if he nails down a spot.

I have been burned by Williams for the past couple of weeks. Parkers goal this week burned deep!

Tough call on the transfers both have merit. Even though I really like Lukaku, Rooney is too on form right now to not take a serious run at.

lukaku not the worst option tbh, both seem pretty even options though.

Clyne will become a good option again when the fixtures ease so wont want to waste a free transfer getting him back in later.

Depressing reading. The creation of two-horse races whereas previously there had been a level playing field is the inevitable result of the Champions League cash which has distorted domestic competitions into mere processions.

The German and French leagues were the last to hold out, but the gap in points between the regular CL qualifiers and the rest of the top flight teams is now becoming apparent there too.

Ironically, the UEFA Fair Play regulations will merely entrench the hegemony of the top clubs by making it harder for new investors to break into the market.

If you don't have Aguerro get him before Giroud.

I prefer Rooney too, but Giroud have better fixtures (next two), Rooney is close to suspension and I want to upgrade Barkley to Oscar...

I'd keep an eye on prices and do it after the CL matches this week if possible, put it through before then if you are at risk of running short of funds.

Barkley to Oscar is a huge upgrade given his role and Chelsea's nice run of fixtures. Giroud is terrific value when you compare his price to RVP, and is nailed for ninety minutes, while RVP has a few niggling injuries to deal with.

Aguero n Wally for Giroud n Ozil a good move..?

    2 ft, 2.0m in account

Lallana, Barkley, Ozil, Townsend , Morison
Giroud, Rooney, Suarez My current attack..

Could also bring in hazard or someone else (9.5) to accommodate aguero..

    Thoughts...
