Festive rotation and Mark and Granville’s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what they’ve been putting in the water at Christina’s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they won’t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiff’s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkey’s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles ‘Big Bash League’ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

    Howdy all.

I've never seen a spreadsheet as conceptually simple as player score by game week.
Is there one that is maintained for the community anywhere?

    Thanks.

Evening lads, I'm sensing a shift in funds required to midfield. Curious what you think.

    Mig
    Coleman JT Mert Murner
    Ozil Barkley Ramsey
    Agüero Suarez Rooney

    Bank 0.0
    1 FT

Subs - Davis Januzaj Kim Chester

    A) Save FT
    B) Januzaj > RavMo and play RavMo over Murner
    C) Rooney > Lukaku and Januzaj > Lamps for a hit and play Lamps over Murner
    D) Rooney > Lukaku and Özil > Haz/Oscar for a hit
(providing funds for Barkley > Walc next week)
    E) Rooney > Lukaku

Dunno about stats, but if Jose sticks to 4-3-3, Lamps is going to continue to be the highest threat amongst all our mids.

Set-pieces alone is really tempting at that price.

Take a punt. But his stats have not been good this season. Pens are his positive but other then take 7.5 is to expensive for me especially with the quality of players performing who are far cheaper then Lamps.

Looks good for next week, but after that the fixtures turn in Rooney's favour. They have a really sweet run of 5-6 games whereas City are away for 3 out of 5. Rooney could outscore Aguero, unless City get their road game together....

Rooney to Aguero for free. Any arguments against?
Although Rooney has been good, I can't really go without Aguero. ManU look average at best, and City look positively unstoppable at home.
My other strikers are Suarez and Benteke. An agrument could be made for doing Benteke to Aguero, but that would require sacrificing Oscar, Hazard, Sess or Ramsey to get an extra 1.4m, something that I'm not prepared to do. Besides Benteke has a superb run of fuxtures, and is unlikely to br rotated.
All this to say: yay or nay?

        Thanks all.
Interestingly, RMT has Aguero & Rooney being pretty much equal over the next six weeks.
What swings it for me (and I'm pretty much decided at this point) is that whe RvP plays, Rooney is not the main guy. City, meanwhile, will play Aguero unless he is injured. They have qualified for tbe next round in the CL, and are 6 points adrift in the PL. Moyes has even said that Rooney will be rested soon.

Ben scoring in the 60-70's the last 4 weeks but how do I improve my team to break the 90+ point barrier

    Mignolet, Boruc
    Baines, Terry, Mert, Clyne, Burner
    Ozil, Ramsey, Lallana, Cabaye, Barkley
    Suarez, Aguero, Remy

    (A) I feel I need another big hitter in m/f. If Baines confirmed with broken toe then I'll buy Skrtel. That will give me funds to get Hazard/Oscar/Walcott/. The only problem is these 3 are pretty inconsistent. Even Ozil has been inconsistent of late. Silva seems to be pretty consistent but injury prone. Gerard could be worth a punt but not that keen on him.

    (B) Get 4 big hitters in defence & play 4-3-3. Centre defenders seem to get the baps especially if they keep a cs. Defenders seem to be more reliable & consistent than m/f.

To me option B seems the way to go.

    Opinions appreciated.

Yep 4-3-3 in this game, Mou said he was surprised it worked so well aka likely to remain the same aka Lamps in an advanced role 😉

Cool, Lamps would be a huge steal if he gets anywhere close to stats like vs WHM

his price is great, just worry about constant rotation, especially over xmas

He's changed it? 4-2-3-1. The only thing is we have the more defensive Mikel partnering Lamps in front of the back 4 which means Lamps can go forward a bit more. Before with Lamps and Ramires, both were going forward and it cost Chelsea.

Ramires was deployed on the right with Oscar central and then Hazard left. Hazard did switch to the right at one point. It worked really well. WHU are no pushovers at home, granted Reid and Rat were out but still.

from official formation sources it was a 4-3-3 this match.

but it's interesting looking at avg. position map in the members area and seeing what the reality is. It was more like 4-1-3-2 with Mikel in front the the back four, Oscar and Ramires almost identical position slightly right, Lampard left slightly further forward, then Eto, then Hazard the furthest forward on the left

Up by 400k this week. Finally getting out from the 1 mill mark.

And for the first time I'm pretty satisfied with the team. Even thinking about saving a trannie this week.

Still pissed about the Lukaku to Remy move though. And Rooney's points (but I did put a tenner on Rooney FGS 8/1 so all good that one).

    😉
