Festive rotation and Mark and Granville’s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what they’ve been putting in the water at Christina’s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they won’t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiff’s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkey’s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles ‘Big Bash League’ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

Nope. Evra for a hit this week is tres risky imo.

2 max imo, but if it were me I'd just downgrade Dawson.

I've had him for 4 or 5 weeks now and was planning shipping before this GW but then saw fixtures and Chelsea's was one of the better so held on to him. Not sure what to do now as I have Hazard, but their run of games looks promising! Think Frank will still score decent points but they will be sporadic as opposed to consistent like he used to be. Who else is an option in his price range though?

Do i need make any changes to my team, a bit disappointed when snodgrass did not play last weekend. I'm doing poorly at the start of the season, but managed to gain some ground during these last few weeks. Mainly thanks to the experts here 🙂

Brilliant team.. your midfield is a bit lightweight with Morrison, Snod and whitts though. Maybe Snoddy to Sessegnon(or Mirallas 😉 ) the price to pay for having 2 big defenders and SAR upfront

But Snoody is playing CRY at home this weekend. Why he is flagged? injury doubt? i would like to bring in Walcott in a few weeks time, but couldn't find any units available to do so coz i got very big hitter front three in Rooney, Aguero & Suarez. I need to make up some ground on my leader in my group. Badly need help here 🙁

Hard luck to any Irish rugby fans out there. It was a great game and your lot were incredibly unlucky not to win agains the All Blacks for the first time. I thought your fans were fantastic, especially with the quiet respect they had for the goal kickers and if your lot perform like that in the 6 Nations you'll waltz your way to a grand slam.

Opportunities like that don't come very often; honestly felt like I was punched in the stomach at the end. I was at that level I felt when United won the UCL in 1999, and then it was all stolen! Credit the NZ boys though. Felt like we'd been cheated, but we just couldn't hold out to a team who never accept defeat. I'd like to say we'll get you next time, but I fear that was our chance 🙁

Yeah, my heart goes out to you guys ay. I can understand the heartbreak having witnessed it from an AB's perspective at multiple world cups. You guys can stand tall though you guys have been our toughest opponents this year by far and I wouldn't have begrudged you victory in that game. Great effort and terribly unlucky.

        Terry, GJ, Chico, Murner, Clyne

Happy with that lot with the upcoming fixtures, but figured I'd get a 2nd keeper alongside Boruc as Soton seem like they want to make as many calamitous mistakes as possible...

Boruc second keeper? Then yes, I like it. Arsenal are tight, only let in 12 goals this season despite not getting too many CSes. Of course wait to see what happens midweek, I'd say ideal scenario would be 30 to 60 minutes for Walcott.

This GW still may have a sting in it's tail for us all. With RVP still sat on 700k ownership, and assuming most would hace C him, that means there are 700,000 autosubs waiting to come on and 700,000 Vice captains awaiting upgrade to Captain. Quite a lot of those VC choices may well be the likes of Giroud, Hazard, Sturridge, Remy or Lukaku...Add to that tonight's game and it may well be a tough day for anybody "all out".

Ref was looking straight at him and decided to give a yellow, end of. If there is to be any retrospective action they may look at the Medel & Fellaiini fracas!

He was a disgrace....A kick and a punch just ignored, how can he possibly justify it ?..bottled it.

I wish they would all just have a teaspoon of cement and harden the fu*k up and get on with the game. Nothing wrong with a little kick or dig in the ribs every now and again.

Agree re the Medel/Fellaini incident, but Rooney's lashing out is frankly ridiculous. You gotta expect a bit of niggle in the game but you shouldn't be kicked.

Honestly I thought the ref did bottle it, and I'm a United fan. Was full sure he was headed for the showers. Possibly justice when he fluffed his chance in the dying seconds.

They both should be banned, especially Mirallas. That was blatant.

Who would you rather have for Liverpool's run of nice fixtures?

Gerrard (would take a couple of -4 hits over 2 weeks) or Johnson (can do now, no hits).

    Already have Mig and Suarez.

    or keep my current team?

If I do Nastasic + Dawson > Evans + Gabbidon (-4) this week....

Gives me the cash to do Ozil + Brady > Walcott + Oscar/Michu in a couple weeks.

    Boruc Davis
    Evans Williams Clyne Gabbidon Burner
    Hazard Walcott Coutinho Michu Ravel
    Suarez Aguero Remy/Luk

Hey ho the defense is horseshit but that front 8 looks tasty until January.

Is Nasty out? He's got Swans at home next if fit. Why not just Dawson -> Gabbi this week and save the hit for the week after?

As far as I can see he's fit and rearing to go, I'd much much rather have him this GW than Evans.
